A lot of people said this album is better than the great cold distance, i disagree,TGCD have some strange hatered power inside, this is more melancoholic but still one of the best katatonia albums, im a big fan of this band and i belive all of their albums have some unique esence, some guys said that this is some sort of copy/paste of meshuggah but wtf! thats not true, hail katatonia!

this album is better than the great cold distance album and does not sound like old albums... they found again the darkened melancholy of the discouraged ones album and the direct sound of the great cold distance i think....its most melodic and less progressive but still in the prog wave but u can listen the dense falls of doom style of old katatonia its a weird and amazing album
