  • I've never known how to set eyelets - the spiked-wheel type never come with instructions, I suppose they assume that "everyone knows". I got the Big Bite because I do't have the strength to use the plier-type punch, but the instructions were in French, which ws very handy - not! When I googled for "how to set eyelets" your vid was top of the list, so well done, and thanks very much!

  • @franl155 it was on the top!? wow... awesome! Hehe sorry. Yeah I get better cleaner results out of my "Silent Setter". I don't know if they make it anymore, but my BB-II must be messed up because it fudges up the eyelet & gets stuck every time. This is a good solve, but mine was screwed by the time I found that fix... so I think mine's broken in a way. But I still like to use it to punch holes deeper into the paper or an item. =)

  • I really liked this video....I don't use any other brand of eyelets but WRMK and started selling them in my blog store....I love these...when I first started using them, they got damaged (i lost my little manual pamphlet thingy:( ) anyhow, I found that I had to change the cube settings...and it's what you recommended, so thank you and thanks for the video!! Jules:)

  • I was having this very problem and messing up projects left and right. I tried your tip and it works great. Thanks:)

  • @susieham you're welcome..

I still have to sorta pry the piece out of the C-a-D.... ugh. I think that "bit" side is messed up unfortunately, but I'm glad it's working for everyone else LOL =)

  • Thank you for your video, I have just managed to buy one today at a discounted price. I previously bought one on QVC and managed to damage the plastic part of the grommet setter and couldn't get it to work satisfactorily, so luckily used my 30 day return. Now I have this spanking new one, I will be more careful and watch some more videos first to avoid damaging this one *L*

  • @SQUIBBITUS hehe. yeah gromlets & even eyelets get stuck on mine all the time... it's more than annoying. I'm going back to using my Silent Setter for eyelets nowadays... :sighhhhhh: but Thanks lol.... glad it helped

  • Thanks so much for posting this video! I just got one for my birthday (mainly for creating holes in chipboard for binding) and i could not figure out how to set an eyelet! TFS!

  • Not sure what area you live in, but I found of this company's products at my local "marshall's" store. Highly discounted, the snaps and eyelets were less than a dollar a panel. I have had no problem using a cheap eyelet tool. I found they are selling products on HSN. I found even cheaper at discount stores...

  • @southsioux For some reason even at Hobby Lobby I have a problem finding WRMemoryKeepers brand of snaps & eyelets, it's always *not* their brands I find... and the CropADile does NOT like other brands LOL. I keep my eyes open when at Tuesday Morning & Big Lots... never see 'em

  • Thanks for posting  your instructions are very clear. Much better than the official "follow these or void your warranty" instructions included with the tool. I damaged one of the blocks by piercing it with a grommlet (:) and now have tiny but sharp bits of plastic that I've tp file before they ruin the finish on some decorative embellishment. Hope you had luck with setting snaps .

  • Thanks! I bought this todayand need to try your idea.

  • Hi,

I bought this tool and I really HATE IT! I tried getting my money back but I could not. I feel so cheated by the company. I even emailed them but they said that NOBODY had ever complained. Now I avoid MEMORY KEEPERS like the PLAGUE.

  • @PrimaDonnaCraft That's pretty bad they wouldn't give you your money back. Especially if no one else complained - which seems unlikely if you read the comments here LOL - you'd think they would be willing to pay back 1 person at least... wow.

Have you still got it? Did you try my suggestion? So far, the only problem I have with it is the eyelet setting. Everything else seems to work fine.

Sorry to hear you had such bad luck :( Will keep WRMK in mind for bad product history lol

  • @KatatMKP

I am going to try your suggestion and see if it works. Thanks for sharing.

    maggie

  • Maggie - Thank you!!

And you're welcome. Glad you found it helpful. Wish they had that info on more on that 1 site, because it seems to be a BIG problem.... ugh.

    :)

  • Thank you VERY much for posting this video. I just bought mine today and was having the same problem. By accident, I stumbled across this video. Sure enough, I tried it, and it works perfectly!!!!!! Thank you for taking the time to do this for us!

  • You are SO very welcome, and... I'm really glad it worked for you. :)

  • Thanks for this!! Just got one and been playing with it and it was not working. This video was a lifesaver! I had heard complaints from people about the eyelets getting smashed-and I was having the same problem. Did not realize the blocks could be adjusted-solved everything!

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to post this video.

  • you're welcome

  • Thanks for the video, it was very helpful.Did you ever find a post on how to set snaps?

  • haven't looked yet - been really busy lol...

  • Thank you sooo much I will try that I just bought mine 2 weeks ago and I could not use it, I didn't no how after trying and trying, I was ready to take mine back when I came across your video, thank you so much, so I am going to try and see how this works 4 me as I had the same thing happen as u did. I am also bookmarking this page just incase lol.

  • you're welcome. hope it works for you. it did for me - i think i said it in the vid, though, you still do have to kind of "pull back" on how hard to press down, but... it doesn't break nearly as much so long as you press only as hard as necessary to curl over those edges on the eyelet. :)

  • you wanna know something this works with making memory eyelits as well i was having trouble and braking mine untill i put it to c4 thanks

  • Bravo.

  • thanks I just got mine and am having a heck of a time-the only thing I was able to do properly were the large grommets w/out punching a hole. I won't give up and you are such a dear to post this.

  • :) You're welcome. I hate to see others waste time and $Money$ buying eyelets that aren't We R Memory Keepers brand, and keep breaking them simply because they're thinner than WRMK brand (that's what I think the problem is anyway)... so yeah. Why get a more expensive brand eyelet just because you don't want 'em to break!? Work *with* it.. lol
