  • At more than 50 years old, Bruce Springsteen can still rock hard. Proof with this gem!

  • There is only one boss!

  • we gotta all put on our smilin' skull rings as a tribute to da Boss!!

  • One of Springsteen's hardest rocking songs. The guitars sound like buzzsaws cutting through all the b.s. of rock and roll and getting to the truth. The mandolin in the mix is a nice touch and the harmonica solo rocks.

  • On this excellent song, it seems to me that Bruce Springsteen is walking on Pearl Jam's shoes.

  • fantastic song with my favorite pic of bruce. could you possiable email this to me? last pic at 3:11

  • @windymeadows2 yea its a nice picture, but i dont have it on my computer anymoore.

  • The dislike bar is like Justin Bieber's penis: Tiny, insignifigant and shouldn't be there.

  • if johnny cash covered one of my songs i would fell honored. sure gonna miss him.

  • dig it

  • ain't 3:10 just the best pic of bruce? i could listen to this song all day and just stare at that pic. actually i use this song every day as a upper.

  • @windymeadows2 i actualy tryed to get carvel to make a picture cake for my 10th birthday, they said no :-(...but what a awesome cake that would be

  • Killer tune! Harmonica solo in the middle of the song really drives this song up a notch.

  • I found out about this song from Ally Condie's Matched playlist!

  • I love the picture of him staring at the woman's chest. But I think the reason why his mouth is open cause he is trying to concentrate on figuring out where her breasts are?

  • I wish Social Distortion would cover this on their upcoming album...yes I LOVE Bruce but I think this one song sounds like a Social Distortion song (as in tailor-made). Bruce loves them and Mike, they are friends it would be PERFECT!

    agh

I'm trying to reach management somewhere with this idea, agh....

  • @ShadowWanderer1 I hear it too! Good luck I hope you reach them, that's a great idea

  • johnny cash's version is way better. its much more somber and dark

  • I wish Social Distortion would cover this on their upcoming album.

I love Bruce and have near 200 CDs of him and am also a big Social D. fan and think this always sounded like them.

It's also my favorite song on The Rising...

Johnny Cash covered it too so the whole thing seems so RIGHT....

  • eh, i cant compare Bruce and Johnny... they are both the best.

  • This always sounded like a Social Distortion song to me.

Easily the best song on The Rising, awesome!!!!!

  • muy bueno el jefe

  • This is god damn fantastic. And no, Johnny was not a better singer than Bruce is IMO

  • What to say...Simply the best!!!

  • Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and true finanly !!!!!!!

  • Full of power.

  • tough song... love it

  • ...a leguas.....El Jefazo ....Thanxs Boss!!!!!

  • oh finally I've found it... I'm sick of live version of this song... thanks sebbelp ^^"

  • i like johnny's version coz its great, johnny cash makes everythin his fuckin own

but springsteen is equally great. i like johnny's coz u can add some great drums 2 it.... u can just hear the cymbals in it :)

  • @RBTL666 Johnny has such a better voice just hits you more than Bruce.

  • Got on my deadmans boots and my smilin skull ring.

  • Epic beyond description. Amen Boss.

And only someone like The Man in Black, Johnny Cash, could possibly do this thing justice as a cover.

  • i prefer both this version and springsteen voice

  • amaaaaaazing!!!!!

  • Cash's version is way better... More melodic and it just comes from this great voice of his!

  • sorry but i must say that i like the version from cash better!

  • I liked Cash's version better

  • i have to say i like johnny cash a lot more than bruce but this blew me away keep it coming boss!!

  • I like the original from sprngsteen but I have to say the song has in my eyes a much deeper feeling sung by johnny cash though i like this one also very much but cash is just with so much feeling in it

  • And meet you further on up the road !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Please..., if we can learn to do one thing on You Tube it should be that we learn to respect the original artists. Too many young people go around thinking there are all these famous songs that nobody has written waiting for somebody to do "versions" of them. This is not a "version". This is Bruce Springsteen singing his own song his way and that makes it "THE ORIGINAL". The writer sings "the original" others sing "versions"...ok.

  • Yes, I absolutely agree...

  • what the hell are you talking about?

  • the Boss is the best but Johhny is great, too. Spingsteen's voice and energy are unique.

  • All versions are great. Personaly The Rising version would be first, Johnny Cash's second ,and The Seeger Sessions third. But they are all great!

  • lookin' for a sign

  • i think the live in dublin version is the best... anyone agree??

  • Bruuuuce! btw I like Cash's version too. And even the Seeger-session version. All great! One of my all time favorite songs. In any version.

  • I don't like this version half as much as the Johnny Cash version! which is my favourite song off all time!!=)

  • In fact, almost every song in Johnny Cash's "American recordings" series is covers, or rather truibutes to artists and songwriters he's found of. I guess the artists who got covered by Cash sees it as a great honor.

  • Spettacolare.

  • Is that Johnny Cash's version or did he copy Bruce, I heard Bruce's Other of this, did that come first. I know he wrote it

  • The Cash version is great, but Bruce Springsteen wrote and did the original version.

  • im a huge fan of both men, it is bruce's song, but as uglymoon says, with the timing and period of life mr cash was at , it seemed more fitting, i feel bruce is right up there with the greats of this country, cut from the cloth of woody guthrie and early american folk singers

  • i heard the Johnny Cash version of

this, and it is so much more better,

just because Cash puts so much emotion

into it, and makes it his own. although

this version is really powerfull, i had no

idea Bruce had such a strong voice!!

    great song.

  • Give the song a chance. I've listened to the Cash-Version first, and when i listened to bruce it sounded unfamiliar. But now, after having gone through some mixed feelings, i do like them both in their unique way.

  • I agree - both versions are powerful. Cash's version is perhaps more sinister, because of his age and physical frailty - with him it takes on more of a transcendental after-life meaning.

  • i have to agree if you like the slower more emotional versions, but I like te rock versions

  • Nice slide show! One of his best toons!

  • It's one of my favourite Springsteen songs. Nice slideshow. But I guess I won't get to see him there:-)
