I have to keep in mind that McCartney is up there in age, and can't belt the song like he done when he was in his twenties. I can imitate his singing voice, but now I am 42, and I can't do it like I used to. However, not bad for McCartney who will be 70 this year.

this sucks now. it's just not the same and it never can be.

they let their egos and their bullshit get in the way of some of the most beautiful music ever written. they turned their back on it right when they were in their prime. now all we've got is that footage of the boys on the roof from 40 years ago. they never really got to perform the music of Let It Be, not properly. right in the middle of their creative maturity as a jam band and they walked away before even going on a single tour.

I don't think they would be capable of playing anything less than great when the four of them got together and got down to business, but think how much better those songs could have been if they had the same focus as on say, Abbey Road, for example. I think it was the lack of George Martin's presence that caused those sessions to have a somewhat ragged (by Beatle standards) edge to them.

Prior to watching this I watched The Beates' version on the roof top. Sorry but this doesn't even come close in comparison. It's missing the raw edgness that only the beatles had.

That said it's still great to see Paul doing his stuff and I would take performances like this over nothing at all. But John and Paul worked so well together, nothing Paul or probably anyone else will ever do will ever match what the beatles produced.

Macs voice isn't what it once was. Every year he he mainly talks the words rather then yell and has the music and backup singers drown out facts like in Hey Jude that he cant hit those hi notes anymore.

Its a shame because it use to be said that he could hit notes that other rockers could only wish in their dreams to be able to attain. Such is old age.
