Paul keeps the 'magic' that was the Beatles alive. He doesn't belt it out like when in his 20s, but so what??? He did a fantastic job @ his last Denver concert. John, how we wish you were still here. . .George, too. RIP.
I have to keep in mind that McCartney is up there in age, and can't belt the song like he done when he was in his twenties. I can imitate his singing voice, but now I am 42, and I can't do it like I used to. However, not bad for McCartney who will be 70 this year.
But the story behind them makes it more understandable, Paul's part was a love song to Linda, the drummer's part was John's depression about being addicted to heroin, divorcing his first wife, Yoko's miscarriage and the couples' marijuana arrest.
0:32 AAAAAAA wtf where lenon.... what! he dead nooo...... it... it.... can´t be..... never be the same but good trie paul you still got something in there
this sucks now. it's just not the same and it never can be.
they let their egos and their bullshit get in the way of some of the most beautiful music ever written. they turned their back on it right when they were in their prime. now all we've got is that footage of the boys on the roof from 40 years ago. they never really got to perform the music of Let It Be, not properly. right in the middle of their creative maturity as a jam band and they walked away before even going on a single tour.
@BigCM06 Are you kidding me!!! this is as good as it gets short of the original version. Comon for Paul to be in his late sixtys and still belting it out like this is nothing short of amazing!!!
I wish someone could continue this sound. I so wish there will be at least one band that can have similar vibe in future... I hope it's not all gonna end with X-factor.
I'll never care for his backup band... Why not get people who sound like the Beatles rather then be all "Nobody can ever sound like the boys".. FUCK THAT!!! THAT'S NOT TRUE!!! look at "Rain" or any of the other decent Beatles act. True they're not spot on, but they're better sounding than this "Cookie Monster" vocal bullshit they were doing on Johns part...
@puppiesinspace That would be incredibly corny, for Paul to surround himself with Beatles imitators and try to relive the old days in some sad, pathetic way. It's a nice thought but it's a good idea you're not in charge of these decisions.
@superman11978 So you're telling me the Sumo with the 60yo men sporting teenybopper haircuts isnt pathetic to you? C'mon, I'm not saying dress the part & put a f@cking Elvis suit on. All I'm saying is there are people out there who could perform the music better then his band. Christ, his keyboardist is just awful. ANY BAND with synth horns is awful for that matter!!!!
@puppiesinspace yeah but the thing is, the beatles split up in 1969. McCartney wouldnt do good in a beatles tribute band. Because they arnt the beatles. yeah McCarney was. But it wouldnt be the same
@sfwaller John's dead. So he's doing what he can do, what he wants to do, and if he could do it again with John, you better believe he'd do it in a heartbeat. Focus on what you CAN have, not what you CAN'T.
@dougalmac54 My feelings, EXACTLY. Can't understand why folks can't/don't do (again) : ) exactly what you've stated. Nice to hear Sir Paul doing this with a really tight band. The Beatles version was really good, but real loose. Imagine what the original band could have done with it if they were firing on all cylinders at that time.
@k80nya Huh? These guys nailed it. The Let It Be sessions were the Beatles playing at their loosest. I don't think they would be capable of playing anything less than great when the four of them got together and got down to business, but think how much better those songs could have been if they had the same focus as on say, Abbey Road, for example. I think it was the lack of George Martin's presence that caused those sessions to have a somewhat ragged (by Beatle standards) edge to them.
God, please give us Linda McCartney (I really admire her, even though she wasn't a Beatle), John Lennon, and George Harrison, and we give you Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber!

its funny that the two guitarists and drummer have 2 sing johns bit cos people wud never 4give paul if he mad jus 1 person do it john had one of the best voices
No one can ever replace John! Fans know that all too well. Paul did his best, and I'll bet John was smiling from a much better place. . . We miss you, John! Saw Paul in Denver (July 15, 2010), and he was amazing. He can still rock, even though some of the high notes seem a bit strained. Don't love him any less. . .
Prior to watching this I watched The Beates' version on the roof top. Sorry but this doesn't even come close in comparison. It's missing the raw edgness that only the beatles had.
That said it's still great to see Paul doing his stuff and I would take performances like this over nothing at all. But John and Paul worked so well together, nothing Paul or probably anyone else will ever do will ever match what the beatles produced.
Macs voice isn't what it once was. Every year he he mainly talks the words rather then yell and has the music and backup singers drown out facts like in Hey Jude that he cant hit those hi notes anymore.
Its a shame because it use to be said that he could hit notes that other rockers could only wish in their dreams to be able to attain. Such is old age.
@BozRyan Paul's voice is in pretty darn good shape for a guy his age. Performing songs like this one, "Helter Skelter", and "I'm Down" in their original key and pulling them off well is nothing to sneeze at.
A sir is screaming like a freak,i like that, it looks cool.Ok i prefer watching him singing it with the beard lol

Don't love him any less. . .

about John.. maybe it's wilful that Paul is playing the guitar instead of the bass

This is sad watching.. I'm just waiting for Johns part to come but it just never will.
