i think that this car will kick veyrons ass on a circuit, and it doesnt have any turbo (veyron have 4 turbos), and both can get to 62m in 2.5, the ferrari can reach 400 km but is limitated to 340km and it doesnt have any luxury because is a real race car, like the mclaren f1

Carbon fiber and composite body with a steel frame is stronger than all aluminum. The ZR1 engine is only 163cc's bigger than the 599 GTB. Power/weight of .19 vs .16. It's faster around most tracks, most of all the Nurburgring. Costs half as much. If you think it's plastic, then plastic thoroughly kicked Italy's ass.

Purely performance wise, the Corvette is right up there with the best. But it's simply not that great of a supercar because of it's blatant lack of class. Let's put it this way, you wouldn't park it in between a Ferrari and a Lamborghini if you wanted to show off your car. Cheap car is cheap.

And you wouldn't park your 599 between a Maybach 62 Zeppelin and a Pagani Zonda Cinque. 599 GTB, cheap car is cheap. It doesn't matter what car you have. James Glickenhaus could park his P4/5 on one side of a Lamborghini LP670 and park his P3/4 on the other and the 670 would look cheap. Your argument holds no water. The fact is the 599 and the ZR1 are both GT cars. The 599 has better fit and finish and a better interior, but at the cost of an extra $190k and 375lbs. The ZR1 is faster.

By the way, I did originally reply to you saying the ZR1 has no class. Read what I said it's made of, read how fast it is, and not just straight line fast, but fast everywhere. There's more to class than the shiny crap you're used to seeing in pictures of cars like the Veyron.  For example, the Enzo has a bare interior, not even a floor mat, let alone leather trim. Does that mean it has no class? Your view of class would suggest it doesn't.

i agree the corvette is an amazing car, sure has come a long way since its beginnings.

not that i will ever have enough money to own either a ferrari or a corvette but to me where the vette is lacking is in its interior, it is a preformance car but inside still looks like its been touched by cost cutting. id never turn my nose up at one though!!

Totally agree. I don't know if you read it because it's an old post, but I said the same thing about the interior. I like cheap interiors in the sense that they save weight. I'd even take a ZR-1 with manual windows. But I just wish they could make it not looook cheap. The Enzo has no interior, same with F1 LM, but they don't look cheap.

But I wasn't talking about which one had a better engine, I was talking about power to weight ratio and displacement, nothing more. They are amazing machines, honestly I must say that the exhaust noise was quite annoying. The constant quick revs turned by the engine, sounding a bit like a sick barking dog. I would take the exhaust of a Carrera GT anyday over that.
