  • Thank you for posting this great song. They just do not make music like this anymore. That is a shame.

  • I still remember seeing HJF&R playing at the Knott's Berry Farm concert hall when I was in high school. What a fun concert. Seeing them in a small venue w/a good sound system, it was a very cool concert. I remember the girls in our group bringing flowers & other gifts for the band and going NUTS. Good times at the Good Time Theater.

  • Hahaha. Thanks, very much!

  • What a treasure! Never expected to hear this great song live. Thanks for posting it...and nice piano work, despite what you said!

  • Did Dan pass away?

  • Yes, in 1993.

  • Thnak you usafbra! What year did you guys play this show? Sounds AWESOME to me. You all did great! This was my favortie tune by these guys. Very jazz fusion like stuff I wish they would've done more of like this song.

  • I think it was 1989 at L.G.T. Vegas in Mission Hills, CA but it was the night before New Year's Eve so the club wasn't very full. I still have a ticket from that night if you want it, let me know and thanks for your comment!

  • Hey-love you on piano and this song-fantastic! Thanks so much for posting-brings back lots of memories. A+++++

  • Thanks!

  • I 'm sure I seen these guys on the "Mike Douglas Show "back in the 70's.great group, nice memories. Thanks for posting, piano was great.

  • Thanks!

  • I think I was around 10 years old when I first heard this song and loved it then (my older sisters had this album). I think I love this song even more now. Dan's voice is incredible, and this is one of those songs I can listen to over and over again. Even my 9 year old is singing along (since I play it ALL THE TIME). Love it!

  • Thanks!

  • Yes, that was Danny singing with Joe backing him. Thanks for the comment!

  • What an amazing voice!

I'm hoping this is Dan hamilton. Sweet spirit forever.

  • I think you did a very fine job on piano! They were a fantastic group!!

  • I appreciate that! I enjoyed my time with Danny & Joe. Thanks for your comment!

  • I spend 10 years to download that lovely song. I hear on 70's on my 1080 AM band radio, broadcastingn from Irapuato, Gto. Now I am a adult that love your music from Mexico

  • To add to my other comments on your video postings, I remember this song quite well. 1st time I heard it live was in 1976 at an appearance at Knott's Berry Farm in Anaheim, CA. Alan Dennison was with them at the time and the very best part of this song (aside from Dan's incredible vocals) was Alan's piano solo in the middle-end of the song. His fingers would bleed he would play so quickly. They opened with a rain curtin of water and came up from beneath the stage w/ full orchestra playing.

  • Cool story! I was working with a local band at the time. The lead singer is now vocalist for Foreigner. I was glad to have worked with all of the musicians! Thanks for your comments....

  • Wow, good to hear their songs again. I remember when the group made an appearance on The Midnight Special back in the mid 1970's. I remember Helen Reddy hosted that show and sang "Fallin In Love" with the group. They were BRILLIANT on that show and sang a song called "Everyday Without You" with full band behind them that included a string section. Man, It sounded SOOO GOOD! I've been looking for a copy of this show ever since. Do you a copy?

  • Great info about Reddy singing with Danny and Joe! In the early to mid 70's my band was opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd around Atlanta area venues. I didn't meet Dan until the 80s and started working with them around then. Good luck on your search!

  • I used to love this band as a kid, I still today. I grew up with their music. They don't make music like this anymore. R.I.P Dan. I wonder what happened to the rest of the band. Living in Chile, it's very hard for me to keep updated.

  • Just curious as to who you are usabrat. I always loved the band and regret not seeing them when they played around North Hollywood in the early '90s. Was crushed when Dan died so young. Always he had a great gutsy voice. Anyone heard "Don't Wait Up For Me Tonight" from '72 with Spoondrift? Joe Frank told me they were going country...

  • I met Dan & Joe in the late 80s when they needed a copyist to do a take-down of their album so they could gig in Las Vegas. I wrote the various parts out for them. I didn't remember who they were at the time but it dawned on me while they were away. As to how I got to work with them it's kind of a long story and there's not enough room here to tell it. Oh yeah, Danny did call me in the early 90s saying he had sold a country song, he was gassed about that. Thanks for your question!

  • What year was that demo done? Liked some of it. No bites from labels? Then they decided to shift to country? How far did they get- demos?

  • Can't remember what year exactly, maybe '90 or '91. No bites from the labels that I know of. Thanks again!

  • Did Dan write this song? The more I listen to it the more I realize just how awesome this song is!

  • There's a sheet music offer on eBay for this 1975 song co-written by Dan and Ann Hamilton. Thanks for asking!

  • Great post!

  • Thanks again!

  • I believe All Music Guide stated it best in their bio; "Dan Hamilton was certainly an underrated and creative talent, and this album is an achievement by an artist who should have had many more hits leading a multi-talented band."

  • I couldn't agree more....he was also a very decent dude.

  • Hey i thought for a minute there they'd fired you and hired Liberace.Once a gain thanks for another good one.

  • AAaagghhhh!
