The news media here in the states are saying these people are protesting that not enough is being done for battling global warming. Is this true?

Among other things, yes. Many of the protesters are leftwing activists who uses the word "democracy" as an apology for using illegal demonstration methods. They are not here to protest in the name of the climate issue, they are here because of their disbelief in capitalism and because their sympathy is with activists with violent intensions who dare to face authorities using un-constitutional methods.

Protesting peacefully is legally protected in Denmark so to suggest that it is "un-constitutional" is absurd. The people protesting at Copenhagen come from a wide array of ideological backgrounds and your to attempt to marginalize them with untenable ideological classifications simply discredits any serious logical argument you may posses. Protesting is not limited to the "left-wing fringe" groups as you may have it.

I agree nodesnetwork tho I dont think we can base our futures predominantly thru economy as it would seem to me that it (the economy) is a huge part of the fundamental problem and the biggest excuse 2 destroy any wellbeing on our planet. By prioritizing "economy" we have lost sight of the important stuff of life When everthing has a financial cost there will b sufferring, its not like the economy benefits the majority so a huge step away from greed is needed imo. We learn more when we have less.

this comment was posted but felt off some how, last year Europe including UK bought more US bonds then China did, with borrowed money, UK is almost going bankrupt so that is not gonna last. What you can conclude that they bought in with as much money they borrowed them selves!
