  • thx man i will do the same i have a corsair tx 650 v2 and its so noisy

  • you didnt plug the fan into the psu did yu plug it into the Mobo

  • @MrYeahii Yeah, the fan header on the PSU was a 2 pin connection (supplying only power) but the fan was a 3 pin connection (power and speed reporting), and there was a spare connection for a PSU fan on the MoBo so thought I may as well use that.

  • @DanNixon2007 I put together a pretty beast and quiet system, but the only thing making noise is the power supply... If I open the power supply up, can I connect the fan to a fan controller? Does a psu fan have a 3 pin connector?

  • @iGGubz Yeah, you should be able to, only thing it it will most likely be a 2 pin connector, in which case you will either have to buy an adapter or modify the cable, also this will mean whatever fan controller you plug it into will not be able to determine the speed of the fan, shouldn't be a problem really unless it has fan failure detection or something similar, but you could probably replace the fan with a 3 pin silent one anyway, just make sure it has enough airflow to keep it cool.

  • Hi mate, shame about the webcam breaking :-( Thanks for the video, I'm doing this myself right now. My PSU just happens to be a cooler master 650W - the fan messed up pretty bad, so I'm shoving a Akasa one in.

  • @cj599898 Yeah, I was surprised how much dust there was when I opened the fan after the video, no wonder it wasn't running properly, don't think you can go wrong with Akasa fans though.
