  • Also I thought of the Surfer one. If you had a problem with her eye falling out, instead of an eye what if it was sunglasses that fell off or just skip that part and have her covering it?

  • Woah. O.O It's darker in human version. But in a good way. Good job

  • I've had this song stuck in my head for days!

  • Comment removed

  • OMG! This is great! I almost feel inspired to try this out with my own drawings!

  • I almost miss the horrible crunch/stomp noises from the movie in the background...though I'm not sure I could have beared to listen to it. =8o

    Well done!

  • i see why u didn't do the last car

  • dude its like theres a moral or something

  • have to double post to say you get every ones personality down perfectly in less then ten seconds of screen time! I am amazed!

  • @dragonkingofthestars Thanks! I take into consideration a characters personality whenever I design them~

  • wow, creepy and awesume. for the record the last two cars are a surfer chick who looses her eye mid way though the claw ride and a native American pick up who willing goes to the crusher when the claw come for him. (least that what i always thought it was)

  • This is so god damn awesome

  • Wow, this is really freaking creative.

  • this is great but holy shit is it scary it's like some kind of murder camp in there

  • Christ. Thanks for making the original even more terrifying.

No, seriously. Make a full-length one as soo as you can.

  • Can you make a full length one

  • love IT <3

  • You know, comparing this ot the junkyard in the movie, you could say this is an afterlife for souls who can't make it to the other side, so the only way the souls of the dead can go on is if they're destroyed (or killed, not sure which term is more fitting).

  • Disturbing

  • @HoundDogEntertainmnt Why thank you :D

  • It's.. it's okay, I didn't want to sleep tonight. For some reason, cars number one and two freak me out the most. Maybe it's because I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but as they're strapped into the conveyer and they struggle with that look of fear on their faces... I don't know. It brought something that the cars didn't have, and they were sad enough. This is scary as hell. Well done.

  • The crazy thing, the song can easily relate to the human drivers.

  • And here I thought it couldn't get any more depressing than it was when the beings getting destroyed were cars.

  • I seem to recall receiving a mass PM a while back regarding a continuation/update of this MV with additional sketches... how is that coming along?

  • @GroverKent Not very good unfortunately :( I started college recently and my projects have been put on hold for the most part since i have so much work to do...

  • this is haunting you did a good job

  • Now, considering this is just a bunch of still drawings, I'm impressed with it. May just be the song, which I love, but this is oddly compelling. I also love there's a lot of shadows used here. Great job.

  • Yeah....worthless is most certainly one of the scariest moments in my childhood, most likely because I got it....I have autism so I understood the meaning before anyone else....

  • at least finish the song!

  • is it just me or is it a bit ironic that the people that were caught were on the car that was meant to be taken (like the owner of the cars that were meant to be cruched from the movie is getting cruched instead)

  • I would have liked to see the Native American car. Good job otherwise though, you're not too far off with the cars being humans.

  • THis is really cool

  • I always imagined the last car to be some sort of old farmer with a bushy white stache. but thats just me.

  • I suddenly have this amazing idea for a human version of this. Rather than have them picked up and crushed like in the movie, to go for the truly human version, have them each rounded up and shot by a firing squad.

  • The human version of this song is Madame Guillotine.

  • Listen to this song while watching the Twilight Zone episode "The Obsolete Man," and suddenly the world makes a bit more sense.

  • It's like a punch to the stomach...but I keep watching it. I mean that in the best and most flattering way possible.

  • i'm the uk best! i was an out sider but i was cutting edge!

now i'm old and a joke the final straw that broke the cars body.

rusty old and from the uk what do you except i'm an allegro the joke of BL

    *gets crushed*

  • wow, this is rele something! the people match the cars perfectly! great job!

  • In a country (can't remember which) they cut the last car because he INTENTIONALLY commuted suicide, and I think this is fascinating how you did this, I'm impressed! Am I wrong in saying this might be the darkest Disney animated film?

  • Wow...someone succeeded in making one of the absolute darkest scenes in any animated movie even darker. Interesting idea, expressive illustrations and good choreography all add up to a very unnerving video. Good work!

  • @Kukapetal

If you don't mind a bit of constructive criticism, the only thing I would change would be some of the male characters' appearances. Your characters all look very young, and some of those voices I couldn't really picture coming out of those characters' mouths. I think the blue car, the hearse, and especially the red car from Missouri could all benefit from looking a bit older and grizzled. The racecar's appearance suits his voice very well though :)

  • GLaD (Portal fan mode activated) to hear you're going to be redoing this! Can't wait! By the way, I saw on your channel that you're also a 9 fan! :)

  • @airbendingavatar1 Speaking of Valve-related things, I stopped by a recycling center with my mom to finally get rid of all the bottles and cans that were overflowing in the garage, and I swear to God, the guy in charge sounded EXACTLY like Bill.

Didn't look much like him, though. Oh, well.

  • Really glad to hear you plan on finishing this! Do you plan on redoing the red KC Missouri car with a different human face? I only ask this because every time I see that human face with those eyes it makes me think of when someone from the anime series "Bleach" does Hollowfication- the sclera of the eyes turn black and the irises turn yellow. Not that that's a bad thing mind you but be prepared for someone to say that.

    lol, "sclera", thank you wikipedia!

  • Any time someone says the stupid clown was the scariest part of the movie, I'm gonna show them this.

  • You're remaking this? Good on ya mate. :D

  • You're remaking it? Sweet!

  • this is very intresting.

ive seen humanization work but nothing like this.

  • The original scene was always dark to me as a kid, because . . . well, it doesn't need explaining, does it?

This version is *extermely* unsettling, in a good way! I only wish you were an animator so I can better appreciate it more fully!

Great drawing skills, too. They show a great understanding of symbolism (the group of four with a silhouetted cross under them was both stirring and unsettling).

  • @millenniumf1138 Thanks! thats what i was going for! and i wish i was an animator...that'd be a dream come true!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I-I love the KC Missori car... T_T He was my favorite. He had an awesome voice...

  • @LovelyMidianMidna and he was a nice old Vette

  • Wow ... i'm sorry you didn't finish this, but i'm glad you posted what you had. The original was quite affecting, but your sketches add something to it.

I think i'd have to say the worst part is the shot of the crusher in the Indy driver's eyes ... and the falling tear.

  • i see myself in there i am worthless i'm austin allgro

i come from the great known place known as england

i was cutting edge the top of the best with loads of great colours

but the ppl all luaghed at me

i was just a joke the butt of every joke

and now i find myself being towed and made into tin cans

  • WHAT?! No reservation car, that was the one of the most sythpathetic cars in the song and you didn't add him.?!

  • Okay. This was still awesome.

  • Oh, too bad, I was looking forward to the last two cars and forgot that you weren't going to include them. Do you think you could add them some time? That'd be really neat!

  • @WonderfulLizardOfOz I would, but the problem is i have a new computer. I'd have to download this one, change the audio, draw the panels again (that doesnt even include the planning of the panels and what'll happen)

    :C i sorry if i disappoint

  • @Ride6TDI

That's sad to hear, since it would be really nice to hear and see the rest. I guess trying to say anything to try and persuade you would be a “Worthless” attempt, but I will try anyway.

I personally wouldn’t mind even if you just downloaded your own vid, cut the audio from it currently, used what you already have since it works and just add the missing bit in along with the full track of music.

I think other people would go for it, who else is with me?

  • @Luigi1000 I would.

On another note, this piece, especially with the humans, is so... haunting. From my perspective, these people, cars or otherwise, are being condemed to death either for actions outside of their control or because they're simply too infirm to function in a normal society.

I wonder what would happen if the original were to be shown to characters in the universe of the Cars movies...

  • @disneyrangerblue02 I've seen another comment like this from you on a different video... would you like someone to talk to? My Inbox is wide open...

  • @InvaderZim897 Thank you, I just sent you a message. I could really use a good pep talk.

  • i got an idea for the little truck!!!

maybe you can use a depressed person that has skis on with 1 broken (cause i think in the movie he said that he took family skiing.) well its just a thought!

  • @urltrayoshimario5000

No... The reservation truck took the kids to the SKIDS with a Hopi (native americans).

  • Man I'd sure hate to see what the end result is from that crusher.

  • Well, after watching that, even Schindler's List would brighten me up a little.

  • AND THE WORLD OF MY CHILDHOOD GETS A LITTLE DARKER.

    Thank you.

  • @Zoeycat123 your very welcome :D

  • when i was a kid i remember being scared of the giant electro magnet and became scared of my light shade because it cast a shadow on the ceiling that looked like the magnet

  • I see I've commented before, but I wanted to add to it. I've heard some say that all the cars in the song are symbolic of those considered "worthless" by society (in order): the old, the disabled, the wanderers, the losers, the unwed, the dead, the foolish young, and the minorities. So I'm interested to see where this project is going...

  • I really like this idea, and it was quite well done :D I especially like this cartoon style you've got going. Pretty nice job overall. I like it.

  • Wow... this is dark. Like others have said, the song is haunting enough when you're watching the movie, but when you put humans into the perspective, it just makes it crazily dark and morbid! Even so, it would be nice if you finished it! And MrManBearPig1000, thanks for posting this on TV Tropes - if it weren't for you doing that I never would have discovered this!

  • I pretty much agree with what everyone has already said - somehow, seeing this humanized makes this song seem that much darker than it already is.

Of course then again, I honestly never thought of TBLT as THAT dark a movie... at least, not compared to other Disney movies like say, The Lion King or The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

  • My favorite part is the one singing about how it's hard living with the stuff he has learned, and you see him sitting before the crusher just kinda resigned to his fate or even worse, desiring it.

  • Jesus, you MUST FINISH THIS.

  • This video expertly captures what was so goddamned frightening and hurtful about Brave Little Toaster in general and this song in particular. The movie's makers could offer all these horrible undertones of depression, despair and anxiety and say it was "for kids" because it was applying personalities to appliances. But just make the characters human and... you get tear-jerkers like this.

  • @usuallydead wow! i didn't think this was even close to "expert" but thank you! those are very encouraging words!

  • @Ride6TDI You're welcome for the praise, but to be fair, I more meant to comment on how horribly dark a movie The Brave Little Toaster is. Looking back on that movie in my adult years, I'm shocked that it was made under the pretense of being a "child's movie." I mean, THAT'S what your video here really captures so well. Take away the pretty cartoon and you're left with a tale of depression and despair.

  • ...And I thought the original was horrifying. DB

  • I didn't think this song could get darker.

  • Will there be more? You forgot the pickup truck and I wanted to see it.

  • Another idea for this, this is for the last character/car. The final character, an old cowboy perhaps that is greatly upset over something, is sitting on top of the hood of the truck that's also on a wrecked school bus. He sees the claw approaching and makes a run for it and jumps off the bus, only to land on the conveyor belt and be carried off to the crusher.

  • ...Dude. This is absolutely haunting. I fucking love it.

  • This is just a suggestion for one of the two cars/characters you weren't able to do. For the Surfer Car (Woodie), you could have an injured surfer still clutching a broken surfboard. And when that claw picks them up, they end up dropping the surfboard and it crashes through the windsheild of the woodie. The conveyor belt, drop them on their back.

  • @Scrapyard24c hmmmm thank you!!! i may use that if i continue the project :3

  • @Ride6TDI The last car -- the old pickup truck, as I recall -- should probably be an older gentleman. You may or may not have seen the movie, but either way, the old pickup truck willingly drove onto the conveyor belt, as if to say he still had life in him but he wanted to let go and move on. The "older gentleman" would have to resemble that personality -- an old man who looks like he's got energy to spare that still feels he's old enough to die.

  • @YouDuck2345 He'd sit mournfully, with a hint of depression on his face, but he wouldn't have any chains on him -- he'd just sit and wait.

  • @YouDuck2345 I guess the first scene would be him sitting on the hood of said truck that's on top of a wrecked school bus. Then he'd see the claw coming and make a run for it.

  • @YouDuck2345 Actually most believe he comitted suicide is because that his owner actually told to his face that he was worthless and broke his heart and he couldn't take the sadness anymore.

  • I just saw a real life version to this that my friend made with real cars. It was creepy good and insanely accurate. If you get the chance to, I recommend it to you it's under my favorites as The Brave Little Toaster Worthless (More Accurate Version) or something to that affect.

I find this to be just as good. A perfect representation of what it would be like if the humans had a systematic way of getting rid of the ones deemed 'worthless' in society.

  • @UnsungRaceCar Thank you so much for this comment. It's really detailed and just the kind of positive criticism i like! :3 i'll be sure to check out the video too! it should be good!

  • @Ride6TDI I am actually the person UnsungRaceCar speaks of. I think I actually had favorited this a while ago but I never left you a comment. I feel kind of bad about that, but I'm leaving one now and that's what counts. C: I actually really love this video, because of it's originality. I also love how the people you drew resembled the cars so closely. You even made the Hearse driver missing an eye, like his auto counterpart. This is worthy to be praised.

  • Please, please finish this. It's haunting.

  • finish this plz, it's creepy good.

  • Good quality. Finish it up if you can. Meanwhile I know a site where this video could get more notice. I'll put a link to it from there.

  • @MrManBearPig1000 wow really?? thank you

  • @MrManBearPig1000 Would this website happen to be TV Tropes? If so, I got here from your link.

  • @InvaderZim897 Yep. I discovered this vid by browsing around. Then I remembered that on the TBLT page on TV Tropes someone had mentioned how creepy it would be if humans were singing this song. So I figured "Why not post it on TV tropes?"

  • Creepy dude.

  • @MrManBearPig1000 thanks thats what i was going for :)
