I was USMC Huey mechanic stationed in Hawaii and Cali. I have seen USMC, USN, USAF, our full inventory doing what they can do and yes it is all quite awesome. I have seen the Blue Angels many times, the Thunderbirds and the Canadians. I saw the Angels crash in Niagara Falls in '82 right in front of me. It can happen to any one of these teams at any time.

These Russians are good, very very good. Right up there with the best, they are certainly among the best in the world...

I think quantity is far important, look at the Germans in WW2, far more superior equpiment and to complicated for maintanence,less equpiment than allies.You know the outcome.Same is here. Estimate of U.S.A total airforce number: 5706, Russia: 6037. Yes you have far more superior fighter, but the more the tech, more the problems for maintanence, and on yours 1 superior fighter you get 5 of non superior easy to maintain fighters, so do the math.....

Now im going to answer your "WHY's"? Thos shuttles are older than rocks. Our space shuttle that just landed a few days ago, had no problems. Only a tiny gash in the tile system due to a peice of foam hitting the bottom. Russia tried to make a similar design to our space shuttles, but failed and ended up putting the shuttle in the middle of the park because the shuttle was to heavily damaged, and poory copied from Nasa.
