Track designs are nice to look at but not to play on. As a skilled player I really don't like the new tracks the only ones I ever pick are Khufu circuit rainbow road and sometimes koopa troopa(instant classic) I really like what they did with the classic tracks like adding ramps for stunts and look amazing. I prefer the gamecube or classic continued pro controllers both feel great but if people come over and don't want to use the wii mote I have no problems using it.I wish there was more to onl

The Wii Wheel is awesome. When I got the game, I started playing with the Wheel, and I've played my points up into the 9000+ online in 2 days or so.

Mario Kart Wii is my favorite MK game. Great roster, lots of cars and great tracks. The only things I don't like are no DLC, the fact in automatic you can't drift and in manual you can't turn unless you drift and the fact local multiplayer is always a 4 race tournament. Oh, and no PETEY PIRAHNA!

Oh also, this game's fatal flaw was the addition of 2 racers instead of eight, and having more than one type of saving power-up for people in last. There were some things I have mixed feelings about this one, and it will never top Mario Kart DS.

This game simplified the Mario Kart formula. I heard that it did not run in progressive scan or wide screen, as well. Graphically, it is not much of an improvement over the Gamecube version.

Punishing the skilled? That's the argument of Mark.. But, again, you go online you'll see that, usually, the Top 5 racer almost always the same. In almost every game you see the same people winning. I got top 5 places 80% of the time. When I play localy, with friends, I got first place 99% of the time. "Mario Kart Wii is more about luck"... No, that's true If know how to play, you'll win for sure. If you don't know how to play, you'll create some kind of excuse for your lack of skills.

@gundamzerostrike No, that's not right. If you compare it to the other MKs - this one is about having luck. Sure, having skills is important but luck is a way too important factor in this game. And I know what I'm talking about. I'm like a magnet for bad luck... and I was in continental leaderboards for several MKW contests.

My favorite example - Moonview Highway, 1st place, half the lap ahead of place two and like 10m to go. And you know what? I still lost (11th) due to Item madness.

GC controller is more precise and hardcore players will choose it because of this precision? It's funny because when I go online, it's VERY (veeery) common to see Top 3 players with that icon showing that they are playing with motion controls. So, the GC controler is more precise? And hardcore players will choose the GC controler? Really? Just because you're not good with motion sensors on MK, that doesn't mean that everyone will follow your path. lol.

I can understand money is an evil necessity and the advertising goes to this. But surely they get the same commission for a 5 or 10 min vid, so only robbing the viewer which in the end is counterproductive!

Mark does funny, entertaining reviews that focus on fun, Derek does in depth reviews that give context, history, and are incredibly informative. I like em' both the same, both are excellent.
