What an absolute sweetheart Michael Jackson is. A veteran before he was a teenager, vibrant, energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about entertaining people.
I know that MJ once said in an interview that he never had a real childhood, but he looked so happy and natural singing on stage with his brothers. Most of his interviews he is smiling and looking really happy. When I was a little kid, I really wanted to be him. RIP MJ, you are so very much missed. There will never be another entertainer like you.
only discovering michael's music in 79-80, i've never put much interested into J5. now taking the time to look into it, you're right it is really great. and i just love watching michael's moves and seeing how he evolved yet you can see some consistency in movements throughout (same with his mannerisms, kindness, gentleness). it was just in his spirit, his soul. i love it!!
@AAMLfan The footage is from a french special called The Jacksons 1977- Goin' places where they do talk about Even Though You're Gone, he says 'Hi I'm Michael Jackson from the Jacksons' like 5 times because he keeps having to do different takes, and then he says 'Here is a song from our latest album that I'm sure you can relate to, its called Even Though You're Gone'.
Sorry for such a late reply! My youtube account has been a bit wierd but I hope it helped.
@ksun the version by Billy Griffin and the Miracles is what i heard first as well. im not sure if that was the original or not, but both versions are very very good.
HE SAYS IT IN ALL HIS close up interviews..that he DID NOT ENJOY TOURS..CAUSE OF THE JET LAG AND NO REST AND BEING ACTIVE ALL THE TIME..NO SLEEP OR REST...BUT AFTER THRILLER HE HAD TO START DOING TOURS AND THEN IT STARTED TO GET BAD..CAUSE HE SAID HE HAS HAAS GROWN UP ON THE STAGE! THE STAGE IS HIS PLACE..HE WASN'T READY 4 THAT KIND OF SUCCESS
Wow!...This is such a nice video and song. I had never heard it until now, and I was just wondering if you would please tell me which album its from? Thanks for sharing!
You are absolutely right! They have just been given there just due at the BMI awards. All the hoopla over these young groups today is certainly undeserved. People seem to forget that the Jackson 5 is the biggest selling teen group in history! They sold over 110 million albums in the 7 years they were at motown. And tens of millions more as the Jacksons. They are the 2nd biggest selling group of all time behind the Beatles. That is a huge feat. Great tribute video by the way! :)
Please please please do you have this in mp3 format. I've been looking for it everywhere and I cant seem to find it anywhere even itunes? would be so grateful if you could send to me. Thanks
I love this record but I can hear why they may have rejected it, not that I agree with the decision. I'll say it again 'I love this track' but if you listen closely someone in the background is off at different parts.
there are songs that got on the albums where there were some off parts too... but that's one of the things i love about this stuff... i just think so many of the unreleased songs contained the meat that some of the released songs were missing. berry gordy's goal was for motown artists to cross over, so a lot of the 'harder edged' stuff remained in the vaults for years. but you do have a point. but that's the kind of stuff i love though. so much of that disc 4 soulsation stuff is so FUNKY!
F'n Awsome!! What else can I say, Great Job!

This is the first time I hear this song.
Was this song ever released?
Thank you for uploading.I really enjoy this video montage.
I love to watch his moves of J-5 melody in his tours.
Everyone wants to see the same moves he did with his brothers. In the 30th concert, even though they were over 40s,their moves are exactly the same.
MJkayochan 4 years ago
The song appeared on Disc 4 of the Jackson 5: Soulsation box-set released in 1995.
Before that I dont think it was ever available or any original album.
