Wish I had heard the advice buy the size you want had 3 114mm scopes not been happy with none have ordered a 10" dob to pick up sometime this week from le shop.
@PROVOKEDRAGE it can be a tough choice i always say get a telescope twice the size you think you want,or you end up spending lots of money and upgrades are not cheap,i look forward to seeing your 10" my freind clive as a 200p auto track dobsonian and its a cracking scope he got some great video of mars from my house with a web cam
@Liquido562 with the 12" works 100% on the orion neb ,with a 2",32mm,uw 1.25" ep with the OIII FILTER it almost fills the whole ep the big bubbleof gas cloud is brought out in a green tinge i could resolve yesterday all 5 stars no probs it almost looks 3d i do have dark skies here other neb, crab,. dumbell, m57 all are better m57 is really nice with this filter it looks thicker and less like a smoke ring ,it can be very aggressive some times on the smaller stuff
@Liquido562 also its no good for star hopping once on target then put the filter in line ,i also have a uhc s filter its less aggressive than the OIII filter and more subtle the uhc s is a great filter also to have in the box,you 12"Orion is a great scope and i no you will see things i do, mega for splitting doubles ,clusters ,dso`s full atop are great to hunt galaxies are the same get around Orion and Virgo really give the scope a work out ,if it was me i would get the OIII
@vonSikko no you will not find this scope i put the MO1 stickers on it ,thats the name of my scopedoes your scope have a name ?mo1 is not a make or a model its just the name i gave her
hey stuart here again. I just took delivery of my new 8" skywatcher Dob! it huge! I was going to get the six inch, but in listening to what you said about wanting to upgrade i thought spending the extra on the 8" would mean i would heve it a bit longer before ultimatly upgrading. cant wait for a clear night so i can get out and use it! im new to this so its going to be like taking my first steps, but i cant wait! vids soon
@stuggyprs i mate sounds great and thats gonna last ages they built like tanks, yes you should get some good planet and deep sky stuff wait till autum and the dark nights i look forward to your vids
your scope looks awsome mate! im trying to decide what scope to get just now. im looking at a dob but dont think ill be able to afford a 12" might be able to get a 6" at a push they are so expensive but they look very good quality.

How well does your oxygen filter work for nebula's?
I've got a 12" Orion dob and am thinking about getting an oxygen filter, but what real difference can you see?
