yo smashers are usually really bad at making combo vids.. they all look the same.. This however was fuckin entertaining + mad skills. The effects weren't the usual gay black n white slomo ish, they were well placed and not too abusive/deranging.. Credits ripped straight outta DKC, thats sweet. Overall one of my tops. big up popfizz. lol @ d-tilt f-smash to chargie on fox at the beginning and once again near the middle.

Cool. Nice effects and syncing-up with the music. Most people don't bother or do it poorly. I particularly liked the sun-flare on her charge shot and it's charging. It looks good. The credits were a unique idea too. It seemed like it kinda lacked tech-chasing... but then again I know how she can't really do so as well as other characters. Some nice combos there though. And overall, this makes me want to play, which imo is a mark of a good video.

To be honest:This whole combo video is not based on that Samus playing well... it is based on that his opponents just suck, and make Samus look somehow better. The worts mistake anyone can do whiöe making a combo video. Samus was just "OK". not anyhow suprisingly good...

Good stuff man. Sony Vegas has very some nice Video Effects. The effects blended perfect with the combos/music. But, for constructive criticism, you worked out those lighting effects just a tad bit too much. None the less, great vid. =P

i've been recording melee clips since before brawl came out.

second, i'm not going to waste my time with brawl more than i need to.

i made an olimar combo vid shortly after brawl came out but it was for a video contest and it was only 1:30 long. i got second place anyway.

don't expect any brawl combo vids from me. in fact, i already have 4 more vids in the works, 3 melee and one ssb64, so yeah. thanks for the comment though.

sinceu have a dvc100 may i ask your settings for virtual dub and whatnot since i have a dvc100 as well and virtual dub but i still have yet to find a good setting

Well... I'm still trying to figure things out myself, but, I have a mediocre computer and I record in composite, but I have a lot of harddrive space so: I record uncompressed .avi, audio synched to video, with some minor color adjustments to the dazzle card. Then I redub it with Smart Deinterlace filter (because I have deinterlacing problems) and huffyuv video codec compression and it makes it look nicer... Then I apply filters in Vegas. If you have more questions, PM me and I can try and help.

And this is not necessarily to you, but to everyone else, but:

The Samus tricks are things that many several Samus players can do (including me), however I choose not to do them for a few reasons:

1. They don't really work on good players. Better players don't fall for most of those tricks, and even better ones will learn to adapt to them, making them a one or two-time thing if they ever do happen, thus, a "lucky" clip, or just something that the opponent should have gotten out of better.

2. They can actually hinder your game because flashy stuff usually involves "overkill" stuff where by doing so, it looks really cool, but if your opponent is

good at all they can usually tech out of it in some form or another (shield, meteor cancel, ledgetech).

3. There're too many flashy vids already -_-

4. Even though the last 3 reasons hold their merit, it still would have been fun to make a flashy Samus combo video, i.e. I could have just dominated a bunch of noobs and made something that looked "sweet." But then the video would be just that - noob domination, or a bunch of lucky SWD clips, etc. (sorry phanna, heh).

As for Basic 101 stuff, it's more like "these combos couldn't have happened any other way" and were usually a great if not best option in the match, given the circumstances.
