Okay, I grew up listening to S&G AND the Bangles, and loved both versions of their songs. I also love She Wants Revenge and their covers are usually smashing but this was actually rather disappointing. I think it would have held up a lot better if he'd stuck to the melody of the song instead of making the whole lead vocal the same droning note. It might work for their music, but if they're covering something that actually goes up and down tonally, they ought to, you know, sing the actual notes.

IMHO, this is better than all the other versions. Bangles' is poorly produced, and just lacks the hard-hitting factor that this has, as well as some kind of personality i can't explain. But I do like the Bangles.

I don't really mind any of these comments because every has their own opinion.

But, I must say this is their own adaptation, which I give them a lot of credit - you could say I'm one of those who like this cover :)

the point of recording any song should not be "to be different." the point should be to make something that sounds appealing in some way. as music appreciation is a subjective experience some may find this version appealing and others may not. there is no objective good or bad classification for much of music.

it sounds like it just goes on, but they're making their music progressive - for those who really want to take them seriously.
