The house to the left at 1:09 is my old house. Right next to Seamer Station. Used to watch the steam engines passing through every summer, miss it dearly!
Great video of a brilliant steam engine. When was this filmed? because i went from York to Scarborough on the Flying Scotsman in 2004 and it was great.
This was filmed in 2004, not long after the loco was purchased for the nation. On this particular day, 'Prince William' was providing purely logistical support as 'Scotsman performed flawlessly, though it had failed the day before and several times during that season.
JimTLonW6, did you notice how the little boy had the intelligence to run behind the camera and emerge beyond still keeping pace with 'Scotsman' Wonderful.
Just like to say I thought this was a great video, what really made it outstanding was the little boy at Scarborough running along with the Flying Scotsman. I hope he enjoyed seeing the engine as much as I enjoyed your video!

I'm not a great diesel fan but what about that fantastic sound of the '66 pulling away in York station?
