  • The fast-paced jingle (the opening part) sounds a bit like both the WGBH logo theme and Pink Floyd's "On the Run."

  • Technically, not a very good logo. But I like it.

  • I remember the original 1986 VHS release of "Teen Wolf" having this Paramount logo.

  • 1979-1981 was a much better logo!

  • The "video" looks too small. It should be HOME VIDEO instead.

  • Also used at the end of "Brothers" on Showtime.

  • @vinylrecord68

I suppose a broadcast having this may be possible.

I remembered seeing a television broadcast, on the Disney Channel if memory serves me, of a movie that had the Paramount Home Video logos on the beginning and end.

  • I have this logo on my copy of "Nomads".

  • I have this on my tape of Strong Kids, Safe Kids.

  • I saw this on a videocassette of the Metropolitan Opera's production of 'La Boheme' many years ago.

  • Taken from "Charlotte's Web".

  • @Jigglypufflove33

You have a copy of that movie which uses this?

    Wouldn't surprise me.

  • @Watcher3223

And it would have to date from the 1982-87 period.

  • @Jigglypufflove33 I don't think Charlotte's Web would have used this Home Video logo as Paramount never used this home video logo for their own feature films.

  • @Jac2Mac True that. This was only used for non-Paramount movies and Paramount TV shows.

  • @canadianpancake786

But I don't think this logo appeared on the made-for-TV movies such as 1969's "Seven in Darkness" or 1971's "Terror in the Sky" for it would go from the warning screen to the 1968 theatrical logo.

  • not 1986, it's 1988.

  • @NikitaFilatovFan3040

When the logo fell into disuse?

  • I meant it was discontinued in 1988.

  • @The10285dollars

    Thanks for the info.

  • @NikitaFilatovFan3040

    Ending date should be 1987.

  • the last 4 notes sound like the Jetsons (which Paramount once planned to turn into a film, but never did)

  • Didn't Paramount also make another syndication logo out of this one? If so, that would be even rarer than this.

  • Gotta love Eddie Murphy.

  • not bad

  • This is also on all those Gallagher shows.

  • ...and also on all LaserDiscs of Star Trek Original Series episodes!

  • nice video and exellent quality! 5/5 please reply.

  • Or, at least the quality is as good as the source and the equipment would allow.

The source definitely was the best that's possible (LaserDisc), but the video capture equipment isn't too sophisticated, especially since the capture is encoded in a proprietary Microsoft DVR format and had to be transcoded into WMV for Windows Movie Maker or AVI/MOV for iMovie.

  • Forgot to add another for iMovie: MP4 (specifically H.264).

  • Taking From 48 Hrs VHS

  • From the Betamax VHS for "Let's Scare Jessica To Death"

  • Lots of Paramount titles on video cassette and video disc back then used this.

I got this particular one from my LaserDisc copy of "Eddie Murphy: Delirious."

  • I remember this logo from Teen Wolf VHS.

  • love this logo and i also like the paramount home video logo with the volcano

  • I have this on the VHS of "Great Movie Stunts/The Making of Raiders of the Lost Ark".

  • I have this logo on "The Ratings Game". I found it at a yard sale today.
