ok so I just read the comments to see if anyone else was actually here when this happened, and made a youtube account just because one of the last posters was there...this was my 3rd show out of 4 total that I've been to, I brought my lil cousin for her first time, for an early HS grad present, and she got to be there for THIS!!! How awesome is that? What a wild card show, who knew that something like that would intensify the show that much???

I was under the impression their policy was AUDIO tapes only, not video, at every show I've gone to they've forbidden cameras but allowed audio. I'm sure the band doesn't mind that much, and I could be very mistaken.
yes they do. They actually encourage it. Since they started, they've always allowed fans to video tape, record, download whatever and share it with their friends.
i knew that, just never tried it. i wanna take my video camera when they come to austin. so no matter where they play, the people that work at the venue know this?
That is not even close to being true. The Dead, Phish, these bands spend 75% of their concert jamming. How much jamming goes on during Granny, Ants, BOWA, STJL???? They are a clearly a fusion band that spends time jamming during their songs, but they are not a jam band.

I thought so, but my friends got the shaft in Noblesville, IN last year. They wouldn't let them record.

I know for sure that DMB doesn't care, but i'm sure some venues will search you and not allow cameras.

But since the Lillywhite Sessions in the late 90's, the band did step up security just a bit.

They are a tremendous rock band that mixes in various components of other genres, such as jam, jazz, rock, funk, pop, BUT they are not a jam band
