I'm currently using this for my videos and everytime I make the videos it's like its lagging only when something is going fast. I'm not sure if its the fps but when I look at it in the Arcsoft ShowBiz its fine. However I use Windows Live Movie Maker to edit the rest of the video and it lags there and Youtube.

@ThaFlashHD You have to do it on your TV, you go to system settings, hdtv dettings and change it there. 720p is the best for recording in my opinion.

@ttms6 They are not required. They are for good HD quality. They're about $12 fro a used pair at GameStop. That's what I have and they work great. If you aren't buying them and plan on buying the composite cables ( 3 cables yellow red and white) plug those into the front of the HD PVR and switch the video input on the software to composite. They work ago but the component cables (five cables) give you outstanding quality.

why have u selected "YPBPR" over wat is shown, , um it could be down to that or check the cabeling from the output of the HDPR to your tv that u havent accidently switched a red and green cable around the wrong way

Not that im aware of the software allows you to reccord your footage and convert it. Adding music commentry or creating montages cant be made from this software, this has to be done on other software

the usb cable is about 1-1.5m long and the supplied component cable is about 2-3m long

no only 720p the hauppauge does not work on 1080i only the black magic capture card can but you would need to heavily read up on that and is not advised to be bought as a first cap card or without knowing alot about it

You can record in 1080i using the Component Cables.

What I would like to know is would it be possible to record SKY HD over to the Hauppauge HD PVR. Also is it possible to buy an adaptor with an HDMI on one end and slots on the back so you can put the Component Leads into it so you could record from SKY HD? Thanks for any replys.

if you are using HD component cables for your sky hd then yes you could if you use hdmi cables for you sky tv then no you cudent reccord with it as it dosent support hdmi

the PVR will lag about 1-2 seconds on ur pc , compared to your gameplay on your tv.

This video shows it slower than what it is just due to the software i used to reccord this video

@The1Iceblade actually i just figured out that the xbox was set to 480p cuz i was recording with the dazzle, but now i set it to 720p with the component cables. I'm also trying 1080i for the bigger screen, which tends to be useful for making DVD's i think. thanks for the reply tho:)

if you pc recognised the hauppauge when you installed it and installed al the drivers then you should be ok

close down any other applications running and remove anything like webcams ect from there usb ports

try re-starting your pc and then going bk into it and selecting your the hauppauge from the source,

the last thing you can check is that you are selecting the correct video feed in from the drop down list

yes you can use this setting for playstation 3 as there in the playstation tab on the left you can select for PS3 settings
