hi there, ive just bought this piece of gear and the backlight suddenly switched off, is there a time limit on how long it stays on etc, could someone help? much appreciated
could you PLEASE do make a video about how to get a pieriphery/tesseract-like guitar tone because i've been messing around with the pod hd 500 for a while now but i just don't get a more or less statisfieing result.
I'd be very gald for advise 'cause you really seem to know something about music ;)
Hey At 8:oo how did you get to that menu with the sag and everything? Seems mine goes straight to Er thang with the pic of a cabinet! whats the deal what do i do?
Hey nice stuff bro! It seems like yoi know a lot about it. I am looking foward to build a rack using the pod hd pro, but I don't know what poweramp to buy :S. I have an orange 2x12 cab, what poweramps would you recommend?
Is there any lag between patches when switching patches live? And do you have any problems with fizzy distortion tones which have the "Shhhhhh" sound wwhen you play?
Can this be used for bass too? I really wanna get the pod hd pro but I wanted to be able to record guitar and bass like the x3 pro. What's the difference between the two? Any help would be nice.
Great video and great sounding tone! I tested this with my hd500 and it's one of my favourite Fireball tones. I also liked your little tips, how to use EQ and tighten the sound. Very useful information. Thanks mate!
I hope we'll see your dual tone tutorial later.
Dark age of technology sounds amazing btw! Congrats for the up coming album!
Can I just say, I just got into your music, and I've been playing the intro to Clarity in Chaos for the past few weeks and I can't get it out of my head. :D Shame I've also been trying to get a good tone using impulses for the same amount of time, but I seem to be missing a trick. I see all these other guys posting demos but I can't get a tone that sounds tight in any way.
Hey this sounds really good. How would you say that the HD pro compares to the X3 Pro in terms of the simulation quality? I"m Looking to buy one so any info i could get would be a big help.
Hey man- how does this unit compare to the Axe-FX? I was in the market for an Axe-FX, but after seeing this, am reconsidering. I'm talking strictly on a tone basis, in their ability to recreate tube amp sounds. I'd appreciate your input man, thanks!
Hey dude, great tone, I have this pod myselfand I was wondering if there is any method to getting your tone sounding like that running through a halfstack for live sound.
i was allways afraid of the line6 sounds but this is just awesome. can you maybe do a demo with an 8 string to see/hear how this pro unit preset sounds like? thanks :)
Hey dude, back with one more question - is there any major difference between the HD500 and the HD Pro (other than the obvious Floorboard/Rack model difference)? Or are they pretty much the same?
@invinciblepeanut Hey man! Exactly the same inside. Same number of simultaneous FX and DSP power :) The I/O section is a bit different though, so just be sure what you're gonna need to do first (HD500 has no dry guitar out, for example).
I'm also thanking you for making this video. I am tired of people talking trash about amp modelers. My question is, do you use this live too? Thanks man! You are a huge inspiration.
@elliumeffect You're welcome! Well I only got it very recently so it hasn't been out live yet, and I'll probably wait until I've got the FBV MKII for it. But I will be using it live eventually, yes! Currently I use the Vetta II.
@chimpspanner Dude, awesome! I can't thank you enough. Why would you wait for the FBV MKII? Just wondering. And.... WOW! You DO use modelers on stage: I'm happy to know that. I can now say "Shut up; Chimp Spanner uses them on stage." Tired, tired, tired, of those comments. YOU ROCK. Where can I buy your music that is not iTunes? You know, I want the real thing, not the stripped down songs.
@JokerJamie7 Both are really great - the X3 Pro is still a powerful piece of kit. The HD feels nicer to play though, and is a bit less 'flat' and fizzy. But then again the X3 Pro has a kickass selection of bass cabinets. Maybe go for an HD and an X3 bean later on if you want to keep your options open ;) OR no doubt Line 6 will release add ons for the HD.
Sounds good man! I'm getting my pod pro hd tomorrow haha... i ordered it like 3 weeks ago and its not here yet.... i made a tone in Guitarcenter on the Hd 500 to see if i wanted to get the pro.... you should check it out. But great video man.
Oh okay. Cool, that's all that I had to ask really. Thanks for taking the time out to do this video dude; I'm looking forward to the next one(s) (if there are any!) :-)
I cannot thank you enough for making this video, Paul. This is beyond awesome. I bought the HD500 off Jim your other guitarist actually, so this video is super useful for me! I just wanted to ask you though out of interest, especially since you've been using Line 6 equipment for your recording; do you use cabinet impulses while recording? Thanks a lot again!
Love these types of videos Paul, can't wait for more! IT helped me a lot, I don't have a POD or anything but it helped me with my own tone chasing ;-)
when I use gates, I get the tightness but lose all my sustain, can you elaborate more on how to use the gate settings to prevent this, or how to accomadate this with a compressor?
@SeanStephensen It's always a problem with gates. The best thing to do is just practice gating/muting with your hands first, so you can get away with using as little gating as possible. I think that's where the second gate comes in at the end. You can use something pretty moderate at the start, and then one at the end of the chain to catch everything else (without killing your sustain).
@90fourninety Why thank you m'man - looking forward to helping my fellow bedroom producers get the most out of this thing. Also gonna do some X3 Pro vids too (including bass tones).
@chimpspanner It's a great help man, I'm in the studio this wednesday coming and I was going to post on sevenstring about getting this tone from a HD bean, looks like you saved me the hassle though!
@luisantos1986 Hey man, I don't have either of my PODs hooked up by USB, mainly to keep the signal noise down and also because I find tweaking on the front panel is really a more enjoyable experience. That said, when I do the rest of the vids I'll provide HD tone files of course :) Everything you see on this vid will work the same in HD Pro/500 Edit, though!
@dwneonstar There's a shocking lack of good videos for this thing, so I intend to do a way more detailed (and more nicely presented) series of videos on the HD in the near future. Just wanted to show off some early tinkerings with it. It's really amazing since 1.3! I was in the same boat as you with the 500 :)
@Mrindustrialcore I just updated mine via monkey and its 1.43 and I have all of the pages..?

what would be better for a live setup in your opinion: the Line 6 Valve bogner MKII 100 watt head, or the HD Pro?

Are you going to make a clip of this tone or another you made in a mix? I would love to hear the pod hd in a context of a mix.
halflife909 3 months ago
only thing i want to know about it is if it is any good live through a v30 cab or something.
would you use this instead of a real tube amp or if it's just as good as a tube amp live?
for a start i know this would be great for home recording, but if the time came for Live stuff, i'd like it to sound great!
