I am sorry but that is incorrect. The Touch Pro 2 is confirmed to be going to T-Mobile, and the Diamond 2 is rumored to be going to AT&T as they seem to not be able(or willing) to renew their exclusive iPhone contract which previously blocked a phone like the TD2 being sold through AT&T.
Sprint may get its own version, but as of now there seems to be no word of such an arrangement.
Its an unlocked GSM phone. GSM is a international standard, so if you have a quad-band phone, you can use it on any GSM carrier in the world. The only GSM carriers in the US are T-Mobile and ATT.
I hope they make it so you can link people to their MySpace accounts. I dont even have a Facebook. Nobody I know uses Facebook. A MySpace app would be GREATLY appreciated!!! :D

It seems like most phone manufacturers release GSM/GPRS phones before the release CDMA versions of phones. I guesws its easier for them to make those phones while the CDMA versions take more time to have their chipsets customized.
Drab Windows Mobile interface? That's part of it's interface, and only unlockable on specific phones that can take it. Just like their added touch screen features.
skyfire is available for HTC's devices, too and IMHO WM is a lot better than Symbian and the N97's software looks really outdated compared to HTC's or Apple's or Palm's software.
I am impressed with both phones and love the company. But I am debating whether to get the PRO or the DIAMOND because in my honest opinion the Diamond has a much sleeker look and I am kind of disappointed in how the Touch Pro 2 looks. Also, the Diamond's camera quality is a lot better than the Pro's. I need the Pro's keyboard though, and it has a bigger screen, so could someone help me decide?
Hey, it's interesting you'd post this. That was actually my EXACT problem. I couldn't decide because the Pro2 has a keyboard and better screen, while the Diamond2 has the better camera and looks. I can't really make a choice for you, but I've personally chosen the Diamond2. I don't really believe the Diamond2 sacrifices a lot of screen size, and it makes up for it by being much smaller and [frankly] sexier. People won't be as impressed by the huge unsightly Pro2.
i would go with the pro. it has a bigger screen plus one of the best looking qwerty's i've ever seen on a mobile device! not to mention the 1500 mAh battery. compared to the 1100 mAh battery on the diamond... which is a significant difference
well the battery facts maybe true, but despite that, the pros battery is verybad. I had the first pro and it use to die pretty quick,. Htc only said they improved it a little bit, but they said they increased the battery life on the diamond by 50% on the second version
I find it mind-boggling that HTC is better at making WinMo menus than Microsoft themselves. I've had winmo since the 5.1 version since five years ago. NOTHING has changed-it is still VERY HARD to use.
HTC makes winmo so much better through their touch-flo and menu overlays. I'm excited for this phone and hope it comes out for sprint!
Wow, Microsoft should see if they could get a license for HTC's pretty innovative touch keyboards, because I don't think I'll ever see myself using a Windows Mobile touchscreen phone without one.

Brandon: The wallpaper stretches if you turn the device the other way to landscape mode. Duttys rotation activation enables rotation left and upside down as well, I suppose the official version will only allow rightway rotation.

Music sounds great through headphones and you can use any headphones with the 3mm headphone jack. Also, you can directly go AUX in and listen to ur music in your car without any adapters etc...
that version of touchflo is so much better than the version i have on my xperia but it's still pretty sweet how those guys figured out how to put touchflo on other touchscreen windows 6.1 + devices

thats true, but on the other hand, you gotta think of what's ahead of them...true, i am 14, but the reason why i got this phone is because of the windows mobile comaptability. Because i travel somewhat often, it is nice to have a word document accessible to compose and edit them on the go. Plus, because my contract ended, upgrading to a 50-100 dollar phone is basically the same phone as my previous one, so theres no purpose of getting a non-smart phone.
on the other hand, i could spend an extra 100 dollars for a phone whose features are what i use. true i could have continued my old phone, but i wanted to use my reduced cell-phone price, so i was better off spending a little more money for a phone that is obviously different and better than my previous phone
i guess there are exceptions then. i just really hate when kids get phones that are just way over what they really need, wasting the features. its like the kid who gets an iphone off ebay but doesnt have internet or texting.

Really pokingpenguin, I doubt you are going to need to edit a word document that much. I dont think you travel THAT much. No kid at 14 even a really dedicated kid doesnt think that much of homework. I don't really believe the Diamond2 sacrifices a lot of screen size, and it makes up for it by being much smaller and [frankly] sexier. People won't be as impressed by the huge unsightly Pro2.

i would go with the pro. it has a bigger screen plus one of the best looking qwerty's i've ever seen on a mobile device! not to mention the 1500 mAh battery. compared to the 1100 mAh battery on the diamond... which is a significant difference

well the battery facts maybe true, but despite that, the pros battery is verybad. I had the first pro and it use to die pretty quick,. Htc only said they improved it a little bit, but they said they increased the battery life on the diamond by 50% on the second version

I find it mind-boggling that HTC is better at making WinMo menus than Microsoft themselves. I've had winmo since the 5.1 version since five years ago. NOTHING has changed-it is still VERY HARD to use.
HTC makes winmo so much better through their touch-flo and menu overlays. I'm excited for this phone and hope it comes out for sprint!

I would agree with you but unfortunately they are the only ones to offer 7pm nights. I make 90% of calls between 7-9pm.
Otherwise, I HATE SPRINT myself!

Wow, Microsoft should see if they could get a license for HTC's pretty innovative touch keyboards, because I don't think I'll ever see myself using a Windows Mobile touchscreen phone without one.

Brandon: The wallpaper stretches if you turn the device the other way to landscape mode. Duttys rotation activation enables rotation left and upside down as well, I suppose the official version will only allow rightway rotation.

The Touch HD doesn't come with this Rom, you can get it from XDA developers though. We should give props to DuttyThroy, who created this Rom.

Music sounds great through headphones and you can use any headphones with the 3mm headphone jack. Also, you can directly go AUX in and listen to ur music in your car without any adapters etc...

that version of touchflo is so much better than the version i have on my xperia but it's still pretty sweet how those guys figured out how to put touchflo on other touchscreen windows 6.1 + devices

thats true, but on the other hand, you gotta think of what's ahead of them...true, i am 14, but the reason why i got this phone is because of the windows mobile comaptability. Because i travel somewhat often, it is nice to have a word document accessible to compose and edit them on the go. Plus, because my contract ended, upgrading to a 50-100 dollar phone is basically the same phone as my previous one, so theres no purpose of getting a non-smart phone.

on the other hand, i could spend an extra 100 dollars for a phone whose features are what i use. true i could have continued my old phone, but i wanted to use my reduced cell-phone price, so i was better off spending a little more money for a phone that is obviously different and better than my previous phone

i guess there are exceptions then. i just really hate when kids get phones that are just way over what they really need, wasting the features. its like the kid who gets an iphone off ebay but doesnt have internet or texting.

ya i know what ur getting at, but i believe that they have some reason behind their madness. sure, there are kids who are spoiled and only get expensive luxurious phones just to show off, but there are some kids, like me, who actually use the features installed to the phone. However, i do not agree with a person who purchases, or his parents purchase, a luxurious item where that child does not deserve it

I think people like you are total hypocrites. Seriously the only reason you hate kids like that is because you yourself are jealous. I am tired of people hating on other people/kids/teens just because they have an iphone or a blackberry or something of that nature. If you can afford it why would a person settle for less? Especially kids?

give me 3 good reasons why you should spend money on things that you won't ever use? honestly, if theres a need for it, then go and buy it. you cant even include iphones because its not a phone for productivity; just games and music. plus i think we were talking about kids from middle school walking around with a windows phone. why would they ever need such a thing??

Really pokingpenguin, I doubt you are going to need to edit a word document that much. I dont think you travel THAT much. No kid at 14 even a really dedicated kid doesnt think that much of homework. We were all young once and understand the style of saying how much you will use these special features of something but end up never using them.
