  • Audio would be great!

  • oh, where is the pronounciation????????????

  • Why do I sometimes hear "arigatou gozaimashita" vs "arigatou gazaimasu" ? What is the difference?

  • @HajisSaya "MASHITA" is past. "MASU" is present.

  • It needs music....

  • how do i say in japanese, make me some sushi bitch

  • THE DOG IS A SPY!!!

  • @yeahryeahr11 Yes, He is DOG of XOXO company...that way Japanese use this word.

  • @JapanProdukt Do you want a dog??????

  • we need: stroke order, furigana, examples with the kanji at the front of a word and in the middle of a word.

  • I could have the kanjis also writing in hiragana. How am I suppose to know how they are read?

  • @rapha1885

There's a book called Essential Japanese, it covers 2,000 Basic Japanese Characters for learning and reference. They, also, include in kana form(s), romanji form, and the strokes order. Pretty good book, or, there's a book series called Kanji de Manga. It's also another good one.

  • @DrWestofReanimationThank You. I'm gonna take a look at it...

  • i got quite few chinese and japanese friends, now how do i ask them to teach me this? lol

  • why number 29? lol

  • well, this helps knowing what they mean but this doesn't really help me if I want to read it in Japanese. I know some of them but I don't know for example what rain is in japanese so I could only understand but not pronounce its Kanji :(

  • for left do you just write right backwards?

  • so kanji is basically chinese words with different pronunciation? this is goona be easy

  • 昨日教室で放課後、女生徒たちがキスをしているのを見てしまった。I saw a girls kissing after school. How shocking it is!

  • japanese girls kissing

  • They say in Jp even beggers read major newspapers and make poems. That's true, I know. If the children in the third world study Japanese language, they would easily become to understand rather complicated things like science and make their way out of poverty.

  • only 2000 kanjis. How easy it is. After you have understood these kanjis, you can easily know the meanings of tens of thousands of words. That's the reason why Japaanese culture is ubiquitous and all kinds of people, from scholors to beggers are clever.

  • when i study english, I memorised 30,000 words in the Word Tank. Jananese language needs only

  • Lol, 0:37 is not SHELLFISH, it's supposed to be SELFISH!!!

  • Why you don't translate in japanese, in hiragana ?

  • Comment removed

  • @Navih33 Its like how we remember so many combinations of letters to form words in the english language. It's would be hell learning english if you were a foreigner.

  • @gmaulrocks

haha true, but I got to admit japanese language is harder than english to learn

  • Keisatuken Rinchinchin. He isn't a police dog, though.

  • 犬 inu, ken , 彼は警察の犬かもしれない、kare wa keisatsu no inu kamo shirenai. He may be a spy from the police. 警察犬リンチンチン、The police dog, Lintintin.

  • 男 otoko man 女 onna,on'na, woman 愛ai love 男女の関係 danjo no kankei the relation as a man and woman

  • I don't think 犬 has the meaning of spy. Only DOG may has the meaning of it in Japan.

  • holy crap... i only know 80 kanji... all of grade 1... thats it... :((

  • I wish I could see on-reading and kun-reading with english definition!

  • Couldn´t you add the romaji too? So one would know how to read them in japanese.

  • I'm learning Japanese at the moment and i only know some very standard phrases.

I also know the Hiragana, since i thought that learning the alphabets first would getting the hard bit out of the way, and then learning words and phrases is just simple.

    Now i'm looking at Kanji.

Is it okay to just learn the meanings of kanji, without the readings?

  • Thats grate but how to say them? I need to learn how to say them

  • I still need 2 or 3 more kanjis to finish the first grade :D

  • im supposed to be going japan in the study leave.. I think i'm going to get very confused and lost

  • oh and to 4:26 TWSS!

  • For all of you complaining about learning kanji, try taking Chinese!

You will learn to LOVE Japanese because of Katakana and Hiragana!

  • HOW DO WE PRONOUNCE, PLEASE REPLYY!!!

  • what is the pronunciation??

  • This is some useful stuff!

  • Kanji aren't used fo English words, they are an integral part of Japanese: nouns, adjectives, verbs, prounouns, etc. If you don't learn kanji you can't read Japanese!

  • i actually know how to write in hiragana and katakana.. but i think i'll pass for kanji coz it's just used for english words.

  • If you use this video like a flash card set it's really useful. :P I could name about 80% of these. Yay. According to my list of kanji I now know around 134 of them. :D 僕はまだとても学ぶべきことがたくさんあります。僕は最終的にはそのすべてを学習します。

  • @lolturtle13 がんばってください!

  • @lolturtle13 Sugoi!

  • @lolturtle13 But do you know how to properly write them? Or more importantly all of the readings, and when to use which one?

  • um..,you forgot how to pronounce them.but thank you very much!

  • why don't they put the japanese pronounciation?

  • @jodelle6 The simple reason to not put the reading is because the kanji have more than one reading, and you have to learn when each is used to read the character. How you read them varies on how they are used, so learning what they mean by visualization will save you time when you are a beginner. You can look up the characters and their readings on many sites like jlptstudy :]

  • @ciaoskater yeah! thanks for answering me a year later. by the way i know about the different readings. you can still put them.

  • @jodelle6

I didn't notice it was several months ago, aha....but other people were asking. And I suppose they really could be there, but beginner's might get confused. I'm tempted to make a video like this with the readings like flashcards so one can practice and see what they know..

  • WHERE IS THE KANA READING?! 音読みと訓読みはどこ? 音読みと訓読みじゃなければ意味がないよ.

  • i think this video is good, but one thing thats lacking is that there is NO music or ANY background music to go along with it. BUT overall this video is a MUST SEE!!!!

  • I wish how to say it was played with the showing of the symbols so i can practice how to say it

  • those words ar in chinese too! lol :)

  • @heyustabbedme no its japanese kanji. but they were borrowed from chinese

  • @alicegal777 ??? no i meant, they hav those words ion chinese as well, some also mean the same things. they hav different prenouncesion though. (yes i know, spelled wrong...)

  • @heyustabbedme like i said. they were borrowed from chinese.

  • @alicegal777 - Borrowed and NEVER given back.... I say STOLEN! ;-)

  • @heyustabbedme thats what i thought. i already know some chinese so this is too easy

  • Japanese is complicated as hell. A symbol for each word? Spare me.

  • @gegito kanji is complicated. not the entire japanese language.

  • @gegito - Yes... but some words share the same symbol. Stop being lazy and learn it. It's fun. :-) Japan only has 2100 Kanji approx. ;-)

  • Too fast for a beginner to grasp all. I have to replay it a hundred times before I get it all

  • i know 139 and still going i think theres alot more than half that i know :D

  • 1:08 for A dog, a spy how do i tell the difference

  • @Maggy236

We use "dog" as a spy. "He is XOXO Inc.'s dog." 「彼はXOXO社の犬だ。」

  • @harimabobenkei You mean that "dog" (いぬ) is like "mole" or "rat" in english? A common slang for "insider" or "spy"?

  • @thesickleone YES! exactly!

  • @Maggy236 context if we said that a dog was looking at you would it seem weird and they are usually read different.

  • You made these to help your son learn? Oh, that's lovely!

  • @0Tokyo0Rainy0Dayze0

He already became 6 years old...soon he will start to learn KANJI.

  • 口 doesn't mean "month" but "mouth"

  • ありがとう。

  • wao thnx but wait theres no hiragana to know how to pronounce

  • これ見たら、漢字文化圏の言葉を一から習得するのって本当に大変だろうな、と思う。日本語とか中国語を学ぶ人たちには、ぜひ頑張ってもらいたいですね。

  • thank you for not only uploading this vid but for encouraging your son to be bilingual! I admire that soo much!

  • noone there who's making

one by one video for each kanji

  • Some kanji have more than one On- and Kun-reading words. ( Example: 音 (music, noise) Has two on readings: おん and いん. And two kun-readings: おと and ね)

Is it necessary to learn them all? I mean isn't it enough with just one Kun- and one On-reading word?

    Thanks

  • 気 MEans spirit

  • wow this is good review, i knew about 80% of them off the top of my head, and about 10% of them i came up with before it was over

    i happy :D

  • >.> i wish i knew how to say them. that would help lol. but very nice ill start memorizing right away ^_^

  • shouldn't the character on 1:18 be a mouth instead of a month?

  • yep right! it's mouth, or in compound it can be a door, hole, or whatever. A month is 月 like moon

  • its used bouth ways

  • Check out the video called

:Japanese Proverb Sara mo Ki Kara Ochiru Even monkees fall from trees" By The Japan Shop

It's funny and this is where you can use it at 1:18

  • Finally someone who put up a video with Kanji symbols with the the english meanings(what those symbols mean)

I will try to lean and memorize this^^'

    Arigatou:D

  • could u make a vid on how to say them

  • I think you should show stroke order and less styleish writing, show how it would look if it were just bieng written down with a pencil

  • Wish it'd also give the pronunciation/furigana...

  • me too.

  • When I have a time, I will try to make with pronunciation and furigana! Thank you very much for your comment.

  • That would be wonderful! Thank you!

  • the only hard thing in japanese is remembering the kanji. this is a very helpful list of kanji! thanx!

  • it should say how to pronounce them

  • that japanese stuff is very hard, i can never learn it.

    chinese is hard also

  • if you already have given up, you can't but if you say 'I really want to do this', and 'I can do this'.. you can :)

  • u sound like a little kid show, but u are right. That's wat i did and i have to learn kanji, and i'm done with japanese.

  • You can learn it, but not just by watching videos on it. You have to grab some paper and a pencil and practice each one until you got it, then quiz yourself on it often until you've mastered it. Eventually it becomes second nature.

  • true, but i practice every day, and i do very good at japanese. i learn more and more everyday!

    Want me to teach u?

  • it would also be helpful to put the hiragana or romanization along with kanji

  • 面白い!

    ありがとう~

  • 私は9歳です。わたしわ日本語はなすです。わたしわあめりかじんです。

  • "Amerika-jin" should be in katakana, FYI.

  • cause they didnt know every thing out side asia and also is "ajia" in Katakana

  • 動詞(verb)の後ろは「ます」にしたほうが良いです。

    それから、「日本語」の後に「を」を入れないと少し読みにくくなります。

  • and wa is not わ、it is written as はwhen it is a particle. so it would be 私は9歳です。And u dont need to repeat watashi again. 日本語をはなす。(dont use desu after this).アメリカ人です。

  • Good try, but you had a lot of mistakes. You'll get better. :]

  • Wow, somehow the symbols are beautiful. I find somewhat interesting that a same symbol can be a spy or a dog. I wonder, however, how do you make a sentence with kanji??

  • Thank you very much for your comment. Old time, KANJI was the only character which Japanese used. HIRAGANA's origin were KANJI. 安 became あ.

  • I think there is a mistake at 1:20. Shouldn't that be "mouth" instead of "month"

  • Yes, you are right. I will take care of that. Thank you very much for your comment.

  • @parsenip i said the same thing

  • @parsenip I thought same think!

  • @parsenip i think so too. because im sort of good and fluent @ japanese hiragana katakana AND kanji. so i think that theres a mistake. good catch. :)

  • @parsenip Your right, that kanji is for mouth, month is another type of kanji..,must have been a mistake.

  • @parsenip It must have been a typo, I noticed that too.

  • すばらしい~

    (もいちど、でも、かた・ひら・ろまじ おねがいします)

  • 頑張ってみます。今後とも何卒よろしくお願い申し上げます。

  • すいません!どうもう~ d(^-^)b

  • can you translate that to english?

    kanji is fascinating

  • this really helped thanks for sharing ^^

  • I will try my best. Please keep in touch.
