Awesome job man. Keep it up. Hate the song though, it has nothing to do with Indian culture(some one said the haters of the song do not know anything about Indian culture). Indian music is beautiful. But the shitty bollywood track is a pain in the butt.
You should start under painting first. You obviously have a good handle on the brush so if you did that you could achieve a little extra dimension to the overall product. Also, try to vary your colors up a bit. Color theory is SOOOO important to a successful work of art. If you used less paint on this, it would be a great under painting and a perfect start to an amazing piece.
Wow, Thanks for this video! The accelerated speed of the video really helps in terms of demonstrating the sequence of approach. i enjoy reading books about this, but sometimes a video really shows things a lot better. enjoy your sense of light and the way you lead the eye into the composition. very enjoyable to watch; watched it several times and saving it to my bookmarks as reference for my own paintings. also like the looseness of your style. looking forward to any more videos you have

not a god damn tutorial at all. a tutorial EXPLAINS how your doing that certain thing.. not just showing you it..this is like iving a bunch of math lessons to ppl who dont know how to solve it b/c you didnt teach em STEP BY STEP.. or atleast explain what you're supposed to do.. -_-
This is amazing, you knew exactly what you were doing, and chanign colors?? pfffttt don't listen to anyone! Thats all part of painting is th process! Not only doe changing colors give it more depth, but it also opens up to a variety of new ideas. Unlike a drawing, paint is able to be layered multiple times, so..experiment! it's your painting and the more you change it up, the more unique to you it'll be. Screw haters =)
@nobsky1 who cares man, people should do what they want regardless of what other people do. if you wanna paint a landscape, paint a landscape. if you wanna paint an undead monkey fuking a parrot, paint that shit. its your painting. :)
I wonder why did you change the surface so many times? It's like you couldn't decide what colors to use... :O plus the fence in the center... I thought rule of third applies on paintings as well as photography...?
This is a really nice painting, but you should really change the title. It's not really a "how to" video. And don't listen to all these idiots complaining about the music. The music is fine, they're just uncultured. They probably think Rebecca Black is a great singer.
there's more to a tutorial than just watching somebody work, you have to speak and instruct. if my math tutor just had me watching her do mathwork, that wouldn't do a thing for me. it's fine if you're just wanting people to watch you paint a picture, you can do anything you like, but you've mislabeled the video as a tutorial which it is strictly not. you should change the title and description, or you will continue to get negative comments from people who were actually looking for instruction.
Well, I might as well give some tips while I'm here...
In the beginning of the video, he used a Light tone Blue to apply the darker atmosphere of the sky then, dipped a bit of white to make it lighter. As he worked his way down, he made textural shapes of a cloud, while again, making the sky more lighter.
Clouds are pretty simple to make as shown here, for shading though, I would of gone for a mixture of Gray and bit of Blue for the Dark Shade, then a light shade above the dark shade (MidTone)
Friendly suggestions: Next time, set the camera up at a better angle for the viewer (we have to tilt our head at a 45 degree angle to watch this), zoom it in a little closer, and light your painting area better for the camera. Remember, it's not just about saying "Ta da! Watch me paint!" It's about involving the viewer in what you're doing.
Well i thought it was great! who cares what he called the title he mislead the idea, it was slow enough for me just watching the strokes, nice painting! keep it up =) Oh yeah and great song..
Well i thought it was great! who cares what he called the title he mislead the idea, it was slow enough for me just watching the strokes, nice painting! keep it up =)
Watching someone build up from a blank canvas very good tutorial, and much better than the step-by-steps we see in books. Most landscape follows this back to front approach and you will find that it works.
This is all the tutorial I need. Folks, just get out your paints and go. The principles for a scene receding into the distance: It's lighter or more blue the farther back you go. Use overlapping. Things are based farther down in the distance, higher up in the near ground. Overlap. Use perspective.
You dont paint very well. you must be self taught? this isnt how to paint with acrylics. you paint more like youre working with watercolour- painting with acrylics is much like painting with oil, but you have the luxury to fill in block colour because it drys so fast. you should also have a much bigger brush, especially when you start your painting.
and this isnt a tutorial... beginners who even try to copy this are learning the wrong things.
lots of artists, like the Glasgow Boys 1880-1900, like to keep a very high horizon when creating works with people or animals at the forefront of the piece, with landscapes they said the low horizon was to give a clear contrast, and to make it seem more proportional... then again that could just be bs,

It's not a tutorial on the process but it certainly gives me an idea. I learn from you, Sir. Being brave is one, coz whenever I paint there was this feeling that I might end up messing my work but after I watched this video, I realized that I have to trust myself and go on because there are still good things to be expected.

@BDJOEcustomvideos um im pretty sure none of that commment you just posted was a question........so dont start off all sarcastic w/ "I have a question" o and u were sarcastic bc u were sarcastic the rest of the commment
always good to see an artist working, always observing the realization one learns. Besides the music I am delighted. You can find out some way the authors
That is good. But in my opinion you should have the back part of the valley darker, the clouds are coming over the mountains, and it should be shaded...
is acrylic paint same as poster paint? is it liquid? im planning to try this paint but i dont have any idea how to use it...could anyone here teach me? :D
"It is a new tutorial for those who want to learn the skill of painting in acrylic." No it isn't. It's a recording of you paiting. Tutorials are explanatory, this isn't.
The keyword is "tutorial". With the lack of explanations and instructions, this is definitely not a tutorial; I agree with many others that the title and description were both very misleading.
@labiner depending on one's level of understanding, one could learn from watching. If one does not get anything from this video, then they need to learn more about the basics of how things in this world works in general.
@labiner Correction, a tutorial is something that teaches someone how to do something, this is a tutorial because it shows anyone who watches it how to do it, and you re-create it. Just like with swimming, you learn from watching people swim and re-creating it
@Tundra995 Are you really going to argue the semantic usd of the word tutorial? You know what, you're right, I'm sorry, this is a tutorial. Now that we have that cleared, is this video going to be any more useful suddenly?
@labiner Painting is actually something you can just watch and still learn from without a whole lot of explaination. You are right though, this definitely isn't a "tutorial"
Ignore the comments, paint what you like, how you like. Yeah maybe you could of titled it differently but i for one enjoyed the video. I think you can paint, keep up the good work. I would like to see you explain how you do it though..
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
It is clear you do not truly know how to paint in acrylics, your cluds like like something out out a fairytale and you haven't used a ground which really shows your a true amature. It sickens me to see people like yourself trying to 'teach' people how to paint when you can't paint yourself and by the way use a proper medium such as oil paint!!
@TheGuru3000 we could go ahead and assume that he gesso'ed the canvas beforehand. What's wrong with clouds looking like a fairytale? Maybe thats how he sees clouds. Every painting doesn't have to look EXACTLY like the scene, because if that were the case, that would be boring. Art is self expression, and you take that away from an individual when you criticize them. Go hang out with Kanye West if you like being an ass!
You could have simply stated that "ill concieved boring lanscape." That would have been quite acceptable to state your opinion without bashing another persons skill, instead of speaking like a third world male with a super ego that has such a narrow view of anything past himself and his preferences.
Bu the way, it is AMATEUR. CONCEIVED is I before E, except after C, so that would make it CONCEIVED, and it is is LANDSCAPE.
Does expressing useless, cankerous opinions about others make you feel like a better artist? Did you feel superior when you wrote "and by the way use a proper medium such as oil paint!! "?. Did your mother never hug you or your father never told you he loved you. Do you have to find your self worth in belittling others? Maybe that is what your father did to you and you thought him superior then so now you do it to others in order to feel strong; to feel in control. I bet you're lonely.
If you are not learning anything from this then you should pay more close attention. You don't have to be flat out told what to do to learn to do something, you can just observe.
how is this a tutorial?

always good to see an artist working, always observing the realization one learns. Besides the music I am delighted. You can find out some way the authors

That is good. But in my opinion you should have the back part of the valley darker, the clouds are coming over the mountains, and it should be shaded...

"It is a new tutorial for those who want to learn the skill of painting in acrylic." No it isn't. It's a recording of you paiting. Tutorials are explanatory, this isn't.

"Just watch me and don't drown."

Monkey see, Monkey do!
Its the humans natural learning method. Its instinctual. I feel sorry for you that you don't have that ability lol

@snazzykazzywazzy
The keyword is "tutorial". With the lack of explanations and instructions, this is definitely not a tutorial; I agree with many others that the title and description were both very misleading.
spiffersss 1 year ago
@labiner
I agree with you. Plus, this really isn't the way you're supposed to paint with acrylic.
Baaad video
axoule 1 year ago
@labiner depending on one's level of understanding, one could learn from watching. If one does not get anything from this video, then they need to learn more about the basics of how things in this world works in general.
DisforDubby 1 year ago
@labiner Correction, a tutorial is something that teaches someone how to do something, this is a tutorial because it shows anyone who watches it how to do it, and you re-create it. Just like with swimming, you learn from watching people swim and re-creating it
Tundra995 1 year ago
@Tundra995 Are you really going to argue the semantic usd of the word tutorial? You know what, you're right, I'm sorry, this is a tutorial. Now that we have that cleared, is this video going to be any more useful suddenly?
labiner 1 year ago
@labiner a lot of good painter had learnd how to paint just looking his masters do it.
BuddyOrange 1 year ago
@labiner Painting is actually something you can just watch and still learn from without a whole lot of explaination. You are right though, this definitely isn't a "tutorial"

TheGuru3000 2 years ago
@TheGuru3000 we could go ahead and assume that he gesso'ed the canvas beforehand. What's wrong with clouds looking like a fairytale? Maybe thats how he sees clouds. Every painting doesn't have to look EXACTLY like the scene, because if that were the case, that would be boring. Art is self expression, and you take that away from an individual when you criticize them. Go hang out with Kanye West if you like being an ass!

i love being an ass its a great hobby of mine, in my opinion its an ill concieved boring lanscape.
TheGuru3000 2 years ago
You could have simply stated that "ill concieved boring lanscape." That would have been quite acceptable to state your opinion without bashing another persons skill, instead of speaking like a third world male with a super ego that has such a narrow view of anything past himself and his preferences.
Bu the way, it is AMATEUR. CONCEIVED is I before E, except after C, so that would make it CONCEIVED, and it is is LANDSCAPE.
Have a nice day.
