  • Superb rendition. Lack of mukhachesta (movements of the head) while moving across the octaves is commendable. So is the unique combination of discipline and liberal use of anuswaras.

  • Dear Str, I do not know how to contact and whom, for the Sri Puranthara Dasa songs sung by Radha and Jaya. Could you arrange for that/ nsg,Memphis

  • @govindarajanns please e-mail me

  • Who is the mridangist? Neyveli Skandasubramanian?

    who are the other accompaniments

  • Mridangam is Thiruvarur Bhakthavatsalam, and violin I beleive is Kandagiri Alaghirsamy, not sure about Ganjira, sorry

  • Yes, they are the same sisters- this video was recorded in 1982 or 1983.

  • @vintageaudio54 Thanks for uploading the RJ concert which was aired by Podhigai TV (venkatachalanilayam). On that program there was a mind blowing Shanmughapriya (in think the krithi was Saravana bhavayenum thirumandiram). I had recorded the whole program in a video cassette but lost. Do you have the rest of the songs of that program? If so i request you to upload them. Thanks in advance. Regards. Muraleedharan, Palakkad

  • When was this recorded?

Are these the same sisters that used to sing in films, too? I remember their mellifluous rendering of many songs from the 1960's. I did not expect that there are video recordings of their concerts. Or are these not the same?

    Thanks for the posting.
