This is bs, SOME parents make wise choices, others don't know any better. My relatives didn't even see their spouse before they got married, personally I find that disgusting. I think everyone who I know would have been much better off with a marriage of their own choosing. And not only that, they are not allowed to get a divorce because of family pressure and of course they have to think of the children. This video seems to make light of arranged marriages.
I got arrange marriage and im very happy in fact im loving it, but not all people in pakistan get arrange marriages in fact people who get arrange marriages love each other alot than who get love marriages..also now times have change now this young generation of pakistani girls and guys pick their own soul mates.
u know everybody,our parents give us good things like start with food they give us wat we like,clothes they give us which one we like or children looks beautiful,they give us good home,they give us all good things in our life we using becoz they r our parents and they know better for there childrens,our parents they want to give us everything good and best things in our lives..but i m confused here if our parents give us everything best and good how they can find a partner for us bad...????

@GabrooSherPunjabDda can you marry a black atheist? no, i guess you can't, so that means that you are forced to do what you don't want. and don't answer me, i would not want to in the first place. because that's not the point, the point is that we should all be free to do what we want.
Something people should also consider, 90% of marriages are arranged in India....5% end in divorce. We choose who we marry in the US, and it's almost 60% divorce rate?.....arranged marriages aren't such a bad idea in that light.

@scrpio23 I have children 3 of them all daughters, of course they have to have my permission to go places but I will not arrange their marriage I will counsel them how to find a husband and if I don't approve of who they date I would let them know but the choice is theirs not mine!
Interesting documentary, American Pakistanis are more forward thinking then their British Pakistanis. Unfortunately in Britain there are too many cases of forced marriages which ultimately lead to disaster.
