The side on and front on description at 1.30 - 1.40, is incorrect. The 1st bowler has a semi side on action (back foot impact) and the 2nd bowler has a side on action as his back foot is side on, but is slightly more open at the top. It's exactly this type of misinformation that is the issue.
I am a medium pace bowler, and i can deliver some really fast bowls aswell but wen i try to do it i cant keep a line or lenght it mostly goes wide, while bowling fast i have no controle over the ball,
@mrbinibone The most important part of fast bowling is to have control, then pace will increase naturally. Focus on getting your bowling arm straight, try to get the front elbow straight/high up and have good rhythm when you run up. If you are not happy with the run up, stop and run in again. Keep your body strong when delivering, i.e. don't fall over. Don't try to generate pace by slinging your bowling arm too fast. If the ball is swinging too much, bowl cross seam, and always follow through.
Counter-rotation is not a specific problem if your back muscles are strong enough. There are specific abdominal and back exercises that my friends and I have been doing since we were young teens. It allows you to go ahead with the rotation and transfer loads appropriately into your lower body without injuring yourself too much.
A lot of pace bowlers have inadequate strength in their lower bodies (thigh, hamstring and calf muscles specifically) and that is the root cause for many problems.
stupid comments: Lee is now a front on bowler, we have changed him to that..
Lee has been and has ALWAYS been, semi sideways or side on. His back foot impact (the only indicator you need) is 45 degrees to 90 degrees from front on.
I seriously wonder why we listen to stuff like this from Aussie coaches and 'experts' if they don't know what they are talking about,.
why is the voice over trying to make it seem like a documentary on big cats in the wild..?

Alex Tudor (Who is featured in this part) ironically had his career ended by Brett Lee who struck him in the head with a bouncer.

So how long was he in the academy for? You could always tell they'd invested alot in him

Old vid but the principles are the same. This is worth watching whether you're playing Under 12's or professionally.
