I'm not stunned. This angle was brilliant when it first started, but this went on for nearly two years and I think the Mid-South fans had really just had enough. It was just overdone by the time this match took place.
Yes, most wrestling feuds don't last two years. And, you're right. By the time this fight and the final one they did one week later, this storyline had been spent.

If they tried the might have been able to get Cassius Clay involved, he was not shy about doing guest appearances in wrestling

This may be the best of all the Andy Kaufman wrestling videos.

Give Lance Russell a lot of credit for moderating this feud. He helped sell this very well.

Was this near the end of Kaufmans run in Memphis and retired because of cancer from wrestling

They had one more match after this. I'll be posting it shortly.

On Memphis Wrestling did they ever pay tribute to Kaufman after his death?
lambert581 3 years ago
No. In fact for years heel managers(Jimmy Hart, Tux Newman etc) said Lawler caused Kaufman's cancer.

That Hart interview should actually be up shortly.

I am stunned at how small the crowd is for this. The place looks empty.
