  • i remimber this guy ,, watched him at youth camp years agoooo,,, wow i miss listening to him ,, dont know what happened to him

  • Hello Bro Appleton,

I am so happy to hear your singing again..Me & my husband love you..Tom & Jan.

  • When I was a kid my dad had all your records! we saw you several times in concert. i used to put on your records and play the drums to them. :)

  • Does anyone have any idea where/how Lance is now?

  • Hey Lance this is a friend of yours that played with you many times in the 80's, I was with you in Ohio that night the UPC slapped you in the face, please contact me, you know who I am

  • your post just makes me curious :) what did they do to him?

  • If you where Lance, which was who I was addressing in that post, you would know what I meant. I had a personal relationship with Lance 25 years ago, played music with him many times. It would do no good to give you the gory details of how this good, decent and gentle man was treated. So, you'll just have to remain curious.

  • yes I will. when you make a public statement like that about an organization it is natural that people will want to know what you mean... especially when they are part of that group. :)

  • Well buddy, glad to know you're drinking the kool-aid! That's the problem with your cult, THEY NEVER ACKNOWLEDGE THEIR WRONGS AND THEY NEVER REPENT! I made NO public statement except the vague TRUTH! Lance got SCREWED in 1986, I was there, so take your pathetic attempt at defending the indefensible UPC! You know the one that kicks people out for things they LATER adopt, like TV! If you believe that the ORGANIZATION does not have to be accountable, you ARE the problem!

  • defending? i was NOT defending them at all. In fact I dont even know what they were supposed to have done! thats what I was asking... from your post i guess maybe they kicked him out for tv or something??? if they did then YES, thats messed up.

  • No, it was not based on TV, that was just a simple example of the hypocrites that i have seen in the man-made organization you seem to have fallen in love with! You don't believe me? Go ask Rex Johnson, one of the premier preachers from your beloved organization what he thinks about the most holy UPC! Once again, the UPC kills it's best! I wish you could pin it on just my personal experience, but the evidence is in, and it ain't lookin good for the UPC! I guess you'll go down with the ship!

  • you assumed a lot by my simple question.... if you knew me you knew how hilarious your whole attitude toward me is... i never said i loved... or tried to defend the org. I simply asked what happened...

  • Well, then forgive me for overreacting to your line of questioning, "when you make a public statement like that about an organization it is natural that people will want to know what you mean... especially when they are part of that group." did not sound like simple wondering, especially with the responses I regularly get from ANY legitimate fact that I have brought up about the UPC! So I stand corrected, you must be one of the few who KNOW it's horrible faliures who still belong to it.

  • hehe no problem.... well there are definitely a lot of things i would change... but there have been a lot of changes over the years... not all their churches are exactly the same anymore... my local church is the closest thing i have found to what i believe...

  • Why would anyone stay and support wrong things? The fact is, that it is a dying organization. The size of the youth camps are a third of the size in our state that it used to be! The number of churches has declined, as has the amount of people that go to them; thats a recipe for extinction. I can name probaly 500 people in my city who have left in the last 20 years! Almost every friend I had from youth camps, STATEWIDE, have left. How can two walk together except they agree?

  • well its like Paul said... if someone does not understand that its ok to eat meat... i wont push it on them... i just dont see any church thats closer to what i believe...

  • It's so much deeper than that! Legalism is a disease, and it has infected the UPC to the point that salvation has become merly a legal point, and not a position of grace! Look, I know you think you believe what you believe, I can't change that, but the perspective you have is one of being too close. if you sat down with someone like myself who can absolutely tear down the sacred cows of false doctrine that have become immovable, you would be left with more questions than answers.

  • @umbilical007 so is bitterness and it too can eat you alive like cancer,if you let what happened make you lose out with God it isn't worth it. even if people did you wrong you need to forgive and not keep this spirit of bitterness and holding a grudge. I don't know your situation but from reading your posts this is what it sounds like. We should forgive others like He did for us. when our sins crucified Him on the Cross. He forgave us. so we need to forgive. I'm sorry you were hurt.

  • @umbilical007 I think you need to read your Bible again. I'm getting the impression you once belonged to a UPC church or had some affiliation with one. Well, I hope at some point someone preached to you, a sermon on the End Times, cause that's what we're living in. To go along with reading your bible, perhaps you should look up 2nd Thessalonians 2:3. There is a reason why people are "falling away" away from the church, and it's not because of something the UPCI did.

  • @umbilical007. if you left the church because of the organization and the legalities of it, then sad to say you were going to church for the wrong reason, you let the legalities of the organization become your focus and not God. We don't go to church because of what people do or don't do, we go to worship God and that only. I know that if I became bitter and left my church for that reason I would need to repent and ask God to forgive me for that. I have to give God an account of my life as

  • @umbilical007. does everyone else. when I stand before God and He asks me what I did with my life it would be very sad to say well...God it's like this.. the reason I became bitter and lost out with you and left church was because of this person or that situation, and then to hear him say I'm sorry I never knew you.... would so not be worth it. remember Umbilical007 above all else we must be saved. And that means no matter what other people say and do.

  • @rain4325 First you say if you leave because of the org and legalities, but you finish by saying that if the person in question left because of bitterness. Those 2 things do not have to be connected. There are plenty of folks that leave the institutional church setting to do something different, like home churching, or planned communities, that left because of the first reasons that you stated. The big problem with organized, institutional church is that is usually full of corruption and...

  • @rain4325 lack of accountability....among other things. Many leave because they simply can not bring their children into that kind of environment and feel like they are following God in the way he would have us follow him. By that, I mean that all kinds of sins are being tolerated, and they do not want that children around that since they would become confused as to the reasons why it is tolerated, and that they might be led to believe that sinning is okay since it is not dealt with.

  • @rain4325 Oh, and I am talking about One God Apostolic local congregations. The frequency of the kinds of things that I am talking about is much more common than what most people would think, I feel.

  • I listened to Lance when I was a new Christian in the late 70s. I've been looking for his music forever!

  • This is great! I would love to see Lance re-record & release some of those classic tunes from back in the day. There's nothing like those old songs. It would be neat to see/hear an album with the same bluesy feel as "Run On" or "Harp Warming". I also loved the "So Happy" album. Those were the days....

  • this man has been a blessing to me you should watch the whole thing

catch you later in church brother lance. pete
