I was torn on the Fallon thing. But he's been growing on me. This puts him over the top. Not funnier than Craig Ferguson by any stretch of the imagination. But having Jawbox on your show is instant late night street cred.
huumm... they seem to be rockin alot harder than they should for this crap. I mean stoping head bang in. I will have to go and look at another sound clip and give a good listen. just like "jesusj0nes " said bad sound guy.
checkout my vid, i show jimmy fallon bobbing his head while the band plays, it's pretty funny. also has links to high quality vids of the 3 songs they played that night.
i was there for the soundcheck and taping, and it was even better seeing it live. sounded fucking awesome. TV sound can't really do it justice, obviously. They also played "Desert Sea" during the soundcheck. blown away that i got to see one of my all-time favorites live again. but don't hold your breath for a tour, unfortunately. Not to mention the re-issue has some life-threatening low-end this time around. Just sick.
When people think of bands of the 90's they think of Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, but those people got it wrong, it was all about Pavement, Jawbox and Fugazi. These 3 bands were way more influential in todays music as well as back then
100% agree w/ your inclusion of Jawbox & Fugazi as underrated influencers - and your point on the over-emphasis of Nirvana as being so influential. When I first heard "Smells Like Teen Spirit" my initial thought was: Jane's Addiction has a new single! Obviously, Jane's true impact has been somewhat tainted by the overexposure of Perry Farrell and "the dude that married Carmen Elektra" but that shouldn't come at the original band's expense! Jane's Addiction was our generation's Led Zepp!
i dont know what rock I've been under. I saw this a few nights a go on fallon and was blown away. fallon is a twerp jawbox is grand

Jimmy Fallon for the win on this one. I can't believe he just asked them to perform and they said yes. Wow. Epic win.

Jimmy Fallon once asked me to put the Doors on the jukebox at a bar. I'd say this slightly redeems him. Slightly.

I hate Fallon, but if his music taste is like this, then he is forgiven...slightly.

You might prefer them (so do I), but influental is more than your own personal opinion.
