Do you believe in the bio-force? look up john chang from therion616... you will see electrical chi emission for balancing biopathways and involuntary muscular contractions, heat chi emissions up to the point of causing a fire, stopping pellets, perhaps the moving of objects in the spirit of the moment, and even the man lighting an LED light with his electrical chi between another person. He claims 30-40 yrs training and only a weak example of his master. I guess with no faith, its all junk.
You guys, quit arguing about about which particular religion Yoda's teachings most resemble. What the Force is ultimately about is trusting in something you can't see or even really understand. It's a response to the overwhelming rationalism of our society. Or at least, it was, before Lucas came along with *shudder* midichlorians = (
I remember watching when it first came out in theatres. I was 57 years old, and it was just so maaagical when you found out that little green dude is Yoda and you hear Obi Ones voice saying "So was I when you taught me" as that smoothing music sets in the back ground. So amazing, so maaaagical, and it seemed like a mystery to me, such an amazing maaagical feeling. Then the GODDAM prequels came out and ruined EVERYTHING!!!!!
Yoda is talking about all religion in this ONE clip. Feel Our father GOD, feel Buddha Nature, Feel the force. God is not a man, god is not a deity, GOD is Matter, space and time. And Jesus christ knew this. Dalai lama knows this too. So does the buddha. The force is inside our heart and soul, The Force is composed only of Love. The Dark Force is ego. Darth Vadar uses Ego.
This is a very special scene for so many reasons. The essence of Yoda's teachings are all made present in this one little clip. One of my favorites and definitely one of the most meaningful scenes in ALL of Star Wars, without a doubt.
@hal1992 it's ok... they're parallel... it sounds funny but it seems more that christianity is more of a meld of buddhist philosophy, jewish theism and pagan traditions...
a belief doesnt have to be a religion, because what religion is, is a set pattern of ideas and concepts that is considered to be absolute truths and truths u cannot go beyond from but instead remain bound by them. Beliefs on the other hand can just work as plateaus, because life moves, truth moves, we shift and advance. Having no belief as an absolute, but rather as the one appropriate for the time being while always ready to jump away from it's crumbling surface when life tells you to.

'You want the impossible!' -- That's modern society's general response. Disconnected and broken to its greater purpose and destiny.

Yoda is more akin to a Buddhist, not a Christian. Silly religious people, lol.

@hal1992 I wasn't aware that Buddhism wasn't a religion.

And Yoda does it with ease too - brings it way up in the air, flys it across the whole lagoon and gently places it down!
