@V8Supercar1 Good point. i agree, its still a vette no doubt. I really dont see what is wrong with the interior. Ive been in several now and i think it is great. Top of the line for chevrolet. its not luxury but its very nice clean and ergonomic. HUD, electronic door latches, leather everywhere, i think its great. I actually think the saleen is america's super-car though. the GT performance wise is only in sportscar territory but it is exotic no doubt. 3.7 to 60, 11.6 1/4 not really "super"

@afgandominator: The Saleen S7 was a great car, but it was not as refined as the Ford GT, it also had a stiffer clutch which resulted in some slow shifts. But on the other hand, the car also had some of the best aerodynamics and downforce of any supercar. Even the orginal 550HP N/A model could do 240mph on a long enough straight.

Jeremy Clarkson claims that the Suspension was tuned by Lotus, the problem is that the suspension was tuned internally at Ford by SVT; this can be seen in the documentary.
No money = No engineering, the money was from the parent company in America. Also the GT-40 did not start winning races until the American side of the team became more involved.

name a single part that wasn't modified in the supra...NONE! every single part was modified in the supra, where this GT-TT was only @ 18psi, with a completely stock engine/internals. run the supra at the same 18psi and the story is quite the opposite. Give the GT-TT the same boost as the supra (probobly over 30psi) and the story changes again...GT-TT>>> boost logic supra
what a well built car. over 500 more hp than stock and heffner didnt even touch the internals of this motor... and its the stock clutch too! ive driving one of these. no.5 of 7 and when you hit the gas in this car... well, it just makes you sick. i love it!

this car IS the pinnacle of ford performance but unofrtunately it was intended to be a limited production vehicle and close to but not all 4000 or so chassis were assembled. a few were not assembled but kept as spare parts for customers

yup...they disasembled it and found the internals were so good in factory form that there was no real need for upgrading them...the only thing that was improved was the intercooler-coolant capacity...lets hope they do a FGT version of the "manhattan project" (it was an 03 cobra with twin T-66 turbos AND the stock eaton...ran to 44psi and almost 1200 to the wheels!!!)
Probably. They did a drag race with the new M3. But that's like a Olympic sprinter against a high school runner kid. The M3 did not have a chance. 1001 HP AWD Vs. 420 HP RWD.
I heard that the New S7 was also supposed to be faster than the Veyron. The S7 for 2008-2009 has 1000 HP or optioned 1400 HP!
And a new aero package that will let you,"exceed 255 MPH" they say. ???
the real thing about the veyrons is that who knows how they even handle? they're so damn big and are so noted for their amazing top speed that little is really known about their track capabilities. thats why I say that a stock GT, despite having half the horses, will still beat a Veyron on a track. Compare the veyron to THIS and its no contest.
They both slide under hard acceleration as seen in run 3! But the viper's layout is not as good. It needs to be revised a bit more, it has been about the same for 11 years!
The GT has a lower drag coeff. and has a much better layout. Mid-engined really helps with getting off the line and handling everywhere.
GM did it with the Zo6 with that mounted 7.0 up front but quite a bit further back than the viper's 8 L.
Stock they are pretty close but if a good driver does the 1/4 mile the GT will come out ahead but not by much. Probably no more than a second over the Zo6.
Damn thing can handle 1000RWHP on stock drive train AND Off road LOL

It has 1000HP and 865 ft bl. of torque!
It is faster than the Z06 lignfelter (650HP) or the viper venom!(1100HP)

Probably. They did a drag race with the new M3. But that's like a Olympic sprinter against a high school runner kid. The M3 did not have a chance. 1001 HP AWD Vs. 420 HP RWD.
I heard that the New S7 was also supposed to be faster than the Veyron. The S7 for 2008-2009 has 1000 HP or optioned 1400 HP!
And a new aero package that will let you,"exceed 255 MPH" they say. ???

the real thing about the veyrons is that who knows how they even handle? they're so damn big and are so noted for their amazing top speed that little is really known about their track capabilities. thats why I say that a stock GT, despite having half the horses, will still beat a Veyron on a track. Compare the veyron to THIS and its no contest.

Ford GT definitely!
They both slide under hard acceleration as seen in run 3! But the viper's layout is not as good. It needs to be revised a bit more, it has been about the same for 11 years!
The GT has a lower drag coeff. and has a much better layout. Mid-engined really helps with getting off the line and handling everywhere.
GM did it with the Zo6 with that mounted 7.0 up front but quite a bit further back than the viper's 8 L.

Stock they are pretty close but if a good driver does the 1/4 mile the GT will come out ahead but not by much. Probably no more than a second over the Zo6.

K your point? The Z06 and ZR1 are meant for straight line driving. Plus the ZR1 had potential to do 212 just needs tuning.
