The announcer was,from what I've heard, his brilliant father, Stan Freberg. Leave Donavan "The Brittanica Boy" alone...ever watch Montgomery Moose on "The Get Along Gang", Tom Little on "The Littles", Linus or Charlie Brown on "The Peanuts"...well guess what, that was Donavan! He was much more than this, and I'm sure his credibility way excedes this. Put it this way, if you starred in this advert, would ppl remember you? Didn't think so...call it as you will, but he is amazing.
I almost did my own rendition of one of the Encyclopedia Britannica commercials for a book report presentation when I was in fourth grade, but changed my mind at the very last minute.
Okay now that was hilarious. One of the best spoofs that captures the character right on. How I remember the first commercial and then that sequel! How annoying that kid was...! Anyway, thanks for the laugh.
We made this in college for a TV production class around 1991. If you liked this, you may like a more recent "commercial" we made- "Douche Bag Air Bag"
