Seems like the video showed an open rivulet of water next to the tire tracks. Driver seems like a pretty knowledgeable guy. I wonder if it is just hard to see the water on the surface.

You're lucky you made it out. The playa can and will kill. There are ham repeaters up there, bro. Get a radio. Truck gets stuck too far out, you won't make it on foot.
