You've done a great job with Apollo. My GCC loves water. She watched Apollo in this video and trie dot be friendly. Thanks for offering such caring and consistent advice to your readers. ALSO please tell what this music is..sounds like tango.
@echaria Thanks, I'm glad people are enjoying the videos. I don't remember what the song is. Its one that you can add from youtube when uploading a vidoe
@1973yahia I never let him alone when he's free in the house (case lots of things can hurt him) but if he did do this then I guess he'd get burned and realize that it was a bad idea haha.
@OperationTubeYou Yep thats normal. They shiver just like we do when they are cold and they sneeze when they get water in their noses. Your bird is fine.
Make sure your bird is in a fairly warm area (room temp should be fine) when taking a bath.
Sneezing should only be worried about if it happens all the time or if mucus is coming out of the nose (it will get crusty on his feathers near his nostrils) but what you described above sounds perfectly normal.
How did you train apollo to take a bath.. I was just given two sun conures about a month ago and thier previous owner never let them out the cage.. I am trying to train them to take baths, and when to know when to go back to thier cages..but its not going well..any pionters?
This may sound like a dumb question, I've known alot of parrots in my time, and in the last two months I have taken on a Sun Conure. He seems to have shorter, and more spaced out feathers (meaning I can see the skin between his feathers after a bath) than all the other parrots I have had. Is this normal? Apollo looks like a gorgeous and spoilt bird!
His sink looks like mine...

Birds like to take baths naturally but your birds may be scared of new things because they have been living in such a small world for so long.
Expose them to water but don't force them into it. It may take several times but they will eventually warm up the water idea.
Birds like to be misted too with a spray bottle, again, don't spray them, spray near them and let them decide to get wet or stay dry

Yes, when Apollo really gets wet his skin shows. I can see inside his ears and the skin on his back and shoulders particularly.
And yes he is spoilt. I work from home and he sits on my shoulder all day or flies over to the window to watch the birds outside.
