I cannot stop loving her or missing her and wish she knew how important she is...not only in my life but to many others in the small village in which she lived. She is a true Child of God...thank you Ursula for loving me and being my closest friend..

  • This is the greatest performance of a single song I've ever seen.

  • Did some checking...her husband passed away (in 1996)...after a long struggle with cancer...This may be who she is singing to...probably is...there is no greater passion than that of LOVE!

  • I was reminded of this song and Laura and had to come find it...what a beautiful voice and a beautiful person. I too wonder who she was singing to...she obviously felt very deeply about this song. I've read some of the comments and see that even now, 7 years after her passing, she is remembered as a kind soul inside and out. May she R.I.P. She was a true gift to be among us for too short a time.

  • I worked with Laura's husband many years ago.. They were so much in love. He also passed away young like her. I met her a few times.. She was so beautiful inside and out! RIP!!

  • This performance by Laura is so

Beautiful! Thank you Laura for sharing who you are with all of us. You have opened my heart to Love again. Lex

  • WHAT A TALENT SHE IS A GREAT SINGER

  • Michael bolton wrote this song when he was unknown for laura brannigann see: HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO LIVE WITHOUT YOU- LAURA BRANNIGAN posted by the celebrators. She. Is crying with emotion.

  • Michael bolton who was UNKNOWN at the time wrote this song for laura brannigan.

  • very good song, but I prefer the Michael Bolton version.

  • @abcsoaps55 Michael Bolton wrote it for Laura Branigan and didn't recorded it until a couple of years after her version.

  • God, she was amazing. She realy was into this song. One of her songs made the record ny staying on the US chart for nine (9) consective months. That song was titled "Gloria". I realy misssssed her so much…

  • @Engyazeed Thanks for filling me in. Both versions are very good; but I prefer Michael's version. It's the one I'm more familiar with.

  • How did she die?

  • @cbargione sadly, from a brain aneurysm in 2004

  • RIP Laura..thanks for all the music! Will always listen!

  • Songwriting at its best.

  • love it!miss u laura.

  • Just went through a box of kleenex listening to this. RIP Laura! Your voice will carry on for an eternity.

  • Her husband died of colon cancer in the early 90s. That's part of why she's choking up and she's all teary-eyed singing THIS song.

  • @rightgirlhere

I thought this was part of the 90-91 concert tour, and her husband was diagnosed with and died of cancer several years later?

  • Freestyle expression from her...Awesome, RIP Laura..

  • Un real that she passed on, very very sad, it does however proof (Not that proof is needed) that death knows no bounds, my brother is sort of money driven and we as a family found out not long ago that my other half brother has cancer and just seeing the reaction from my brother about the abilty to see the sun come up or being able to just breath the air around him has i think changed his focus in life, , RIP laura, heven has taken yet another great singer from us, not fair i say, take care all

  • Still a very wonderful voice even today. Would love to have the pleasure to be able to listen to her today. A very special songstress and a very special person I think, singing songs that she felt. This apparent in her delivery of most of her songs. Oh the loss to us all. Would be wonderful to have her today with her wonderful delivery of her songs. Rip Laura, you will never be forgotten.

  • What a wonderful voice she had :) a powerful singer a lot of feeling in her songs

  • What a wonderful voice she had :)

  • One of Musics Greatest Stars Should not be Lost to AIDS Your Fans Miss you .

  • The people that trash Great singers like her have no life of their own, and only wish that they could have a fraction of her talent. We didn't know it at the time, but the 80's were the best of times looking back at them. Sometimes the stress of the business gets to you, But you can't let the a**holes that make negative comments get you down.

  • Bluebird is right she passed away seven years ago at the age of 47 from a brain aneurysm in her sleep. Her sister found her when she hadn't returned her calls and was supposed to meet her.She had been suffering from depression tdue to the loss of her longtime boyfriend....sad..and a great beautiful talent

  • Bluebird is right she passed away seven years ago at the age of 47 from a brain aneurysm in her sleep. Her sister found her when she hadn't returned her calls and was supposed to meet her.She had been suffering from depression tdue to the loss of her longtime boyfriend..Friend of a fam friend..sad..and a great beautiful talent

  • Will somebody please post her studio recording of this song!!! Her recording blows MB's out of the water.

  • a tad bit flat??? Give the woman some credit....this was right after her boyfriend died and right before she died!

  • @patriotpagan ~ This was NOT right before she died.

  • @edwardjames50 well it certainly wasnt right after!!!

  • @patriotpagan ~ Asshole.

  • @edwardjames50 ahhhhahahaha thanks for the great laugh!! what a comeback!!!

  • my loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.,

  • I much prefer Michael Bolton's version. Laura B.'s rhythm is a little bit off and she missed some of the notes; she was a tadbit flat.

  • Laura B.,made many beautiful songs! This was one of my favorites!

    RIP Laura

  • beautiful talent and a beautiful lady RIP Laura

  • she has the power of voice but the sound is not so good..

  • hearing that she had suddenly died makes want to cry

  • @Wizardmaster666 i agree

  • Listening to this song and seeing her perfrom it, makes me wish i could have just went up to her and gave her a huge hug and say ...all will be ok

  • Enrique Iglesias is a moron Including Juanes. American then this two morons.

  • i don't care what people think of her, but i love the way she was....

  • Love the way she sings this!!! Makes it feel how I am feeling!!! And how i would sing it right now! :(

  • Laura Ann Branigan was married to Larry Kruteck, a lawyer 20 years her senior, in December 1981. Not long after the Over My Heart album's release, Branigan left the music industry in 1994 to spend more time with Kruteck following his diagnosis of colon cancer. He died on June 15, 1996. a great singer gone forever...... LB RIP.

  • No, Laura´s husband Larry was alive and well at this time.

  • it may be mentioned already somewhere back, but if i am not mistaken, this performance took place not long after she lost her husband.

I was 7 when she released "Gloria" and I was hooked than an there. First boy hood crush, lol. She was taken away far too soon. I bet she is proud to see her fans still care

  • WHEN SHE SANG SHE TRULY LEFT HER BODY. THE LOVE THAT WOMEN HAD.

  • OMG, I had never seen this video...truly amazing, shows real feelings

Laura you died too soon !!!

    LOVE YOU !!!!

  • I love the way Laura Branigan sings..shes one of the best female singer and upto now i still love listening her music....like this.....

  • how am i supposed to live without youuuuu?????? <3 <3 <3

  • My first Love , when I was in the school, had a poster of her in my room. God Loves beautiful people & summon 'em back early . RiP.. LB

  • i loved Laura Branigan since the first time i listened to her...so sad she's dead ...but i /we will always remember her powerful and perfect voice

  • heartwrenching and hauntingly beautiful.

  • I`ll never forget Laura every time I play the 80s music. I was lucky to watch her perform live in Manila. Had great fun listening and swaying from her songs. Now that she`s gone from us, her voice and songs will continue to live on in our hearts forever. You are truly missed, Laura. (April 02, 2011)

  • @Ricardobuhay you were so lucky to see her live kabayan!

  • she was an amazing singer and she will never be forgotten. her music has a special place in my heart and always will . ti amo laura

  • This is AWESOME!! Shame on the people that clicked dislike for this one. This is a very sad, but very beautiful performance by one of my fave female singers. She is so underated!! (:

  • Another great song from the 80's, the best ever decade for Pop Music.

  • So emotional..

  • she is very equal Dana Plato in aparence

  • go richie and laura drummer jerry w kant*

  • God she was a treasure

  • @jace30able

    gone way before her time...

  • @jace30able Yes she was in several ways. First her beauty. Her meaningful love songs. She had a great personality, free-spririted like me. I've seen her holding what I believe her daughters so she was a wonderful mother also. Also some of her dedications like on Branigan 2 and her 1990 album sounds like she cared about the people she worked with. There is a sic pervert who's been trashing her bad on her memorial video page. I tried giving him hell and all he does is trash her more!

  • WOW! SIMPLY AMAZING HOW SHE WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE THE SONG.

  • Great song/

  • I made a mistake when I watched this video--it laid me open, once again, to such pain and loneliness because I lost my wife to cancer only 94 days ago. I know Ms. Branigan lost her husband before she, too, left us suddenly. But at least she's with him once again. I have prayed that God would take me, too, but it hasn't happened yet. So now I pray that my wife waits for me and saves me a place beside her when it's my turn for the Lord to take me home. So much pain.

  • @mrtubesteak2 May God bless you and the pain youre experiencing...Time will help you remember the good times and the pain will fade..please take the years you have left to look forward to your reunion...God bless...

  • @sandlot40--Thank you so much for your kind words. My wife was the girl of my dreams, the love of my life, my One Great Love--and the best and closest friend I've ever had. The love we had between us was the kind that of love that everyone wants but only a few have ever found. I was blessed to have been married to her for 28 years, the best 28 years of my life. They were not enough for me. I miss her terribly and I will love her forever.

  • @mrtubesteak2 I feel your pain. I lost my wife to cancer June 14, 2010. 9 months ago and still a wreck. LOVE OF MY LIFE! Heal brother.

  • @harleyhankthecrank--I'm so sorry for your loss. Time is standing still for me and life seems to pass by just out of reach--but I don't want to reach for it. I can't just yet. I am trying to find a way to go on and I will try to pass on my wife's legacy. She was the kindest, most gracious, most generous and loving person I've ever known, and she gave that gift to me. I will pray for your healing, too. Thank you for your kind words, brother.

  • @mrtubesteak2 i feel ya dude i lost mine 7 years ago and i keep watching simply red wasting all those years she was only 49 when cancer took her from me she was a 6ft2 redhead flawless and red red hair , gave me five wonderful kids all in med schools or out already and 1 dentist, i was a marine for 34 yrs and she took care of everything i'm a 57 58 tommorrow lonely old retired marine , so 100 days is still too close RIP TO YOUR LADY AND MINE CAROL DOLL SEE YOU WHEN I GET THERE

  • @TheMrtimmy28 -- I have four great sons and they have tried to help pick up the pieces of my life. I am blessed to have them and am so grateful to them. I'm sorry to hear about your wife. I pray so hard for all cancers to be cured because they take so many good and beautiful people like our wives. I never expected to outlive my wife, but I'm glad I did because I wouldn't have wanted her to go through this kind of pain and loneliness on account of me. Until we join them, may God bless us all.

  • @mrtubesteak2 She surely will, have faith.

  • This video is so sad! She has a gorgeous voice! I remember being little and her "Gloria" song was my absolute favorite... R.I.P, Laura!

  • You are so very much missed - thank you and Rest well.

  • girl had soul...and feeling and was real. Lots of energy and was not reconized the way she should have been. She had awesome talent. And heart in her songs ....

  • This song contains heart touching lyrics, sometimes is hard to say good-bye, so many people talk about Love, and yet they do not have a clue about what love is,,blessed are those who have found love, and their love last,,,,"Oh darling" so much feeling this words enclose,,, Laura rest in peace, hope you found your Love & peace wherever you are

  • Say us, how should we live without you????

  • Very touching and emotional. I'm gonna cry...

  • Oh my that was extremely outstanding in so many levels. The crying part really got me.:(

  • @elpueblano009 ... her husband had not long died.

  • very sparkly!

  • thank you very much for sharing your music with us laura, you will always be remember rip..

  • Love this song and this arrangement, it lets her beautiful voice come thru as it should. It is my thought that Laura is the very best singer to grace us with her work in ages. A shame we had to loose her so young. Can a person think how great she might be today. RIP Laura. We do miss you very much.

  • Listening to an old laura branigan best of cassette tape on my vintage sony walkman. Nothing beats the true organic sound of a cassette.

  • Was this a cover? Or is Michael Bolton the one that covered??

  • @GTCrunch laura wrote it, but i think michael did it better

  • @teamguido555 I think it was actually Michael that wrote it and Laura who sang it first until he decided to sing it in the nineties...at least, that's what I remember reading somewhere.

  • @GTCrunch This was Laura´s from 1983. Later Michael took on the song.

  • @zerotonine8 Michael Co-wrote the song.

  • This is so sad :( And she still put on an amazing performance and sang so well. I can't sing when I'm crying. It's really difficult. She was talented.

  • She is most wonderful singer and person in the world.

An angel in the earth. She just go back where she belongs..., heaven.

  • When i see her singing, barely holding on, it makes me think of Lisa. How many times did i think the same things she is thinking about? Sends shivers down my spine.

  • When i see her singing, barely holding on, it makes me think of Lisa. How many times did i think the same things she is thinking about?

  • She was an unbelievable singer and person her music still makes me shiver RIP Laura....no one else like you. My wife and I always danced to your songs at the Clubs especially The Power Of Love. Miss you Laura

  • If Laura only knew how much she is missed to this day. How much she is still loved. You left us too soon Laura but you will always remain in our hearts. You cry and I cry with you. Rest in Peace oh beautiful one.

  • OMG she's crying....really touching this song...she's wonderful...very beautiful song ! ♥

  • Wow, that was personal.

  • Wow..you could really feel the loss and terrible sadness in her voice as she sang...really memorable. And yet throughout it all she managed to control her tune. She was really great..

  • She is truly a legend, no doubt about it. I really salute her for she touched my heart with this song...she sang with all her emotions and feelings! I am lost for words!!

  • Her version was by far the best. You felt everything she was singing.

  • I loved her music in the 80s. Such a pity to have lost such a great meaningfull singer, a cruel world for sure.....:(

  • this is so powerful and heartfelt , there is no worse pain in life then not being with the one you love . thanks for sharing.

  • loved it , great performance. so touching and passionate :-)

  • 我們會想念你勞拉,你是,而且將永遠是,最多的偉人之一

  • watch the part of 4:01 she sang it with emotions and the end she hit her nose in the microphone and almost laugh

  • its so touching cause i also remember my sweetheart fritz palo this is our team song, i love him very much and he is my everything , i dont know if he still thingking of me, i always prayed to God na sana kapag matanda na tayo ako ang maakakasama mo , inspite of masakit ang ginawa mo sa akin i still take care of you sweet, i love you shk

  • Cool song cruel world :(

  • Larry Kruteck is a lawyer , husband of Laura Branigan died from cancer in 1996 actually but she lost her father in 1984.

Love you Laura , you'll be always in our hearts.

  • MrCheshire24 - I absolutely respect your feelings - this song, no matter who we are, this is the most soulful lyrics and music that expresses the loss of a "soul mate", "partner", "spouse", "parent" - down to the core of how we feel about someone + yes, she cared deeply about him but that was also not the "open" story of who she was -i meant no disrespect to you or your reason for this song that "moves" many of us

  • she passed away at home with her partner, a woman, her albums were dedicated to her or Laura's brother, not a husband

  • @1723bert Her husband died from cancer in 1990 and presuming the statement that this was performed in 1991 I do not doubt that it is real pain.

My wife died in February of 2010 after 38 years of marriage and I can barely make it thought the song without tears welling up. Please Bert check your facts before you make such statements that question the lady and what whe was feeling.

  • @1723bert She died suddenly from a brain aneurysm. Your story is about as accurate as the other one being posted on here that she died of AIDS contracted from her supposed boyfriend (male) who was supposedly a porn star.

Some people just will not accept it when people die suddenly of aneurysms, haemorrhages, peritonitis and other conditions where you can be as good as normal one minute and dead then next.

  • @BluebirdintheSky

You are not alone there, Laura !!!

  • A Goddess in her own right!

  • Soulful

  • The song, written by Michael Bolton for her, is really beautiful. I don't know why she's crying as she sang this song in concert. But Laura Branigan didn't start out to be a professional singer. She studied acting, and the tears could be a deliberate part of the the performance. But I wonder if she's thinking about a real life experience as she's singing.

I think there was a lot of tragedy and disappointment in her life. Such a wonderful artist, and we can't even buy this concert on DVD.

  • @rphillips111

    She wasn't acting.

  • I am not at all trying to be insensitive, but why was she so upset? Just the lyrics or a lost love? Does anyone know?

  • @jhop9898 Yes she had an upbeat song , she sang Gloria.

  • This is sad, makes me think about how I would live without my husband, I am so choked up right now, I can hardly breathe, it ;s just so sad she died so young. She had a great range in her voice, what a talent! She was just three yrs younger than me, what a pitty.

  • i'm just speechless she was great, i hope all the kids that call themselves singers now just listen to this songs to see what they giving to our children and what we got when we were in their age. thank you for sharing this with us.

  • RIP

  • o amor verdadeiro, coisa tão rara, que Deus dê o descanso eterno para ambos e se possível possam viver este amor na vida eterna.

Deus te abençoe Laura onde quer que você esteja. Saudades.

  • shk this song is our team song, while laura sang, im also crying cause its very hard lost someone you love, how am i supposed to live without you shk, nahihirapan ako shk
