  • bobdole57 I assume you've checked your floats contain only air? have you also checked your float level? My last suggestion would be to replace the needle and seat valve (little brass thing screwed into underside of float bowl lid). Re overflow under throttle only - if your engine runs a mech fuel pump, your fuel delivery will rise with RPM. If needle and seat cannot hold back the extra fuel, the float bowl will over fill and spew as you have described. That make sense?

  • I'm having a problem with my front SU on my MGB, its spewing fuel out of the overflow, but only under throttle. At tickover its fine. Very confused.

  • Sorry for the lack of follow up video... things got busy for me and I never got around to it. FYI - I also fitted the plastic replacement floats, re-adjusted the float level by 'tweaking' the needle & seat lever tabs and all was well! No more fuel overflow.

  • i had the same problem with my stanza and bought some new plastic ones about a month ago from stewart wilkins motorsport they're made from the same stuff as plastic jerry cans

  • Hey there mate! I have just rebuilt my Datsun 610 carbs...and that is a great tip on the plastic tube fuel level thing! i am gonna use that tip to make sure my fuel level is in order! My carbs have the late Datsun Roadster floats! They are black and made of some sort of plastic! You should try and find those for ya carbs! Great job on the video...cheers...
