@Tony4eternity *Its bullshit, not what you said. The only music that gets the correct support in UK is Pop and lets be honest most of it is trash! Watered down music, with cheesy hooks that stick in your head subconsciously and unfortunately, it sales :/
i can relate because what is happing there happened here in dallas tx for a long time . and now we just have dance songs. do tha . not listen to me rap because people dont care . because now u can make a rapper. and the streets will never know of this person until he's touring in his own city. instead of getting out to tha people . i'm going at it with old and new tactics. i'm down with world music not just us music.
Dizzee Rascal and Estelle are decent. but neither have much mainstream popularity mainly because we as American hip-hop fan control the industry. They aren't saying what we want to hear 90% of the time, and they don't have the support system that most artist require to make it big. I myself find it hard to relate to them, and even harder to understand what they are saying.
I hear ya. The UK don't really promote our artists the same way US does. From Punk (70s) to Dubstep in 2010, the UK has always pioneered and inspired multiple generations of musical talent.
I think it's time to take control ourselves as artists, instead of the majors using the status quo as a dictatorial handguide.
