  • Oh jesus Christ I LOVE HARDY <3

  • OH MY CHRIST Eddie Redmayne is so hot.

  • I saw the first episode of this series, was hooked, went out got the book and read it before the second episode! I loved it!! It's fantastic, both the book and programme.

  • this is sooo ultra sweet

i cant stop watchin it :)

  • I agree with you spasticwalrus...Alex was very attractive but I hated him for what he did to Tess and to angel (really to everyone around him) Angel is a complete arse in the begginning wen he leaves her but learns his lesson in the end...the hard way!!!

Anywayz I think Hardy is less celebrated because his work is deemed deppressing and sad...but he shows life the way it is and not in some silly fairy tale with a happy ending!!

    XxX

  • I am in love with Alec. It was disgusting what he did to Tess but he tried to make amends and pay for his crime. I think that Thomas Hardy is my favourite author because he dosen't lay everything on a plate, he makes you think. It's a wonder that his work isn't more celebrated.

  • i dont think making her his slave really counts as 'making it up', but i guess he is better looking then all the other guys that play Alec.

  • Alec was a man that was supremely spoilt by his great wealth and also by women that were around him and because he couldn't understand why Tess wasn't going to be seduced by him and that is why he commited that disgusting act. Although in Hardys' book it doesn't give a clear view of if Tess was raped or if she was seduced so the floor is open!!

  • its all about angel!

wow can a guy look so cute and buff @ da same time?

    i MUST find a way 2 watch the 2nd episode! ugh! =P

  • angel way cuter then alec, i usually go for cuter lads thn looks :)

  • Tess is beautiful! Too nice for a milkmaid!!!

  • I love Angel!!!

    Eddie Redmayne is lovely (:

  • hmm who here finds Angel attractive?

    I really dont :S

    Love Tess of the d'urbivilles!

  • Angel's all right, I find Alec more attractive than him tbh, despite the sinister creepiness. I'm a bad guy person. XD

Love this scene, rofl at Marion's face at 0:18, and can't wait for the final installment this evening. This is a fantastic series.

    xx

  • Oh my gosh, how sad was the ending?? She's so naive. I think Angel has a really young face but I still like him more than Alec :).

  • I know!! I cried so much. When the flag went up and Angel just broke down.. *sob* :(

At least Alec got his comeuppance. Tess didn't die entirely in vain. :)

Can't wait for the DVD release!

    xx

  • I know I ordered it on Amazon in advance :) So good. Omg and the Liza-Lou held his hand I was like nooooo that should be Tess :( Bless her.

  • I do :P

He is, in a strange way :S

I dunno what it is about him lol

    xx

  • are you joking, hes GORGEOUS! :)

aww i cried so much at the ending, but was good in a way, i mean, it was more realistic, u kill someone u dont get away with it just coz ure in love lol

  • Tess plays Head Girl in St Trinian's.

  • that's... really cute. *sniff*

  • oh yh, i think the girl in the red dress plays the secretary in st trinians

  • Alec is strangely attractive.

  • oh yeah he is

you not seen him in doctor Zhivago??

    stunning

  • He plays Yury??? Yes?? With Keira Knightly??? I've seen that?? I knew it ws the same man, I was like, ok, he may be a mean, concieted trater in here, but you can't deny it , he is very good in this and that. I find it so funny when the girl in the red one lies there hoping to be kissed, then he takes his time with Tess. lol. it's amusing. and then when she eventually tells him herself about Alex after he didnt find the leter, and he turns and say they have to part. That's gonna have me BAWLING

  • can't wait to watch this episode on Sunday!

  • I bought this book a few weeka ago and thats the first time i heard of it. I saw that it was comin on tv, so i watched it. An now am reading the book. I rlly the love the story. I av only ever read one short story by Thomas Hardy, but i think i will have to read a lot more of his stuff.

  • Eddie Redmayme melts hearts <3

  • it's trying to be faithful to the text. not everything has to be modernised, in my opinion. it's not trying to do the same thing robin hood is. i know what you mean to, it's not very accessible to everyone.

  • also, they shouldnt have modernized dr who ,thats another error of theirs.they shouldve stuck the 70s/80s costumes and props/visual effects etc.hmmm yes indeed

  • I hate mr d'uberville

  • the show was awesome on sunday :D

  • I watched it!

    I loved it!

  • I agree this was brilliant!

looking forwad for the next episode

  • waw, oh my god this is fantastic.

It really is up there with the greats like Jane Eyre in 2006. And I've only seen the first part of Tess of The D'ubervilles!

  • I so agree.

    And I LOVED Jane Eyre!

  • this was amazing! gemma is such a great actress! i love her!

    xoxo

  • Looks good, BBC. I was impressed by the BBC Bleak House production, and thought it remained fairly loyal to the original book.

I think the same high quality production can be expected of this.

  • bbc 4 life

  • Why did anyone vote that comment down? He was saying BBC was a really good TV Channel. :S
