  • Matty.. i'm such a loser! I will write back to u, i promise.

Yes i would say the same.. xanax is very risky. Would u consider taking valium instead? Does the same thing its just longer lasting, but does take longer to work yeah.

U started DBT? I've just hit the 6 month mark..scary.

Good to hear u've been getting more into Christianity and stuff. Don't worry God will bring along the right woman.

Hope u've been alright otherwise. Talk to u soon.

  • Hiya Nayomers :) its okay i am sometimes not so good at writing letters myself :p I know the risks of xanax and the threat of addiction it poses, I will be safe. Valium? Probably not strong enough to calm me, and i hear its just as risky. DBT is goin good though i am mostly self-DBTing since the VA is too understaffed to get appointments regularly scheduled. It's helpful though, doing the journals. And indeed feeling the love of God once again. And truly he will provide to me a partner :)

  • oh and I forgot to mention...the most subtle/natural way of talkin to someone at college is just ask how their gettin on with the course! :) Then if they say they've difficulties in any area & you help a lil...bam! you're automatically a friend :) Go get 'em! (^_^) A*

  • Good idea ;) I'll give that a go! Thanks Amy!

  • gah! comp crashed...so advice on approaching ladies: 1st just thinkin of them as potential friends helps :) It'll quell ur nerves& put the girl @ease..any lady worth her salt wont like being approached 4a romantic relationship 4om a shallow basis! Friendship will naturally determine if that mind/body/soul chemistry is there =] ...So ya...If I was u I'd just think "what can I bring to this girls life?" & approach her like that...a friend through thick& thin. Any woman will be delighted with that!

  • Heh that's what I've been doing, always friends first....this I already know, but my curse has always been never getting past that point of friendship into "something more".

  • great update :) Glad things are goin better for ya Matt! Thats kinda fun that you've quit WOW cuz it opens up loads more opportunities for ya. I challenge ya to go out there & do one thing you wouldn't usually do instead! :) Somethin silly but kind like take dogs in the local dog shelter for a walk or do somethin creative to brighten someones day!!!...As for approaching women...heres the tip in comment 2...

  • Hey where's that comment 2? lol ;P Thanks ya maybe I will do some spontaneous things like take shelter dogs for a walk or somethin :) I'm definitely exploring new ways to 'enjoy life' as opposed to 'running from life', so things like that I will definitely pursue :)

  • uhhgg and you're using their labels - "manic" and such are concepts they've created, psychiatry i mean. Its an industry that first creates the problem and also create the medicine to "fix" it. Social Anxiety is their latest...what a sham. A book called "Selling Sickness" talks about all this.

  • I will indeed look into this book, but know that I am, myself, a psychiatric student, starting with that old bio degree and ending in clinical/behavioral/cognitive neuroscience. I respect your opinion but do not agree that psychiatry or chemical imbalances are a sham, psychiatry is, however, a broken art of medicine. It's up to my generation to fix it.

  • Use YouTube to uncover the roots of psychiatry and its claims. Chemical Imbalances? Thats marketing. They don't have patients, they have customers, and usually once hooked they are customers for life. There's a guy, i think his youtube name is psychtruth that helps- talks about how the depressions we experience are natural and serve a purpose. Introducing psychotropic meds into the picture muddies the waters and takes away the self validation that you can get thru it on your own.

  • Oh you'll be glad to know that today I took out the book "Selling Sickness" from the local library, I'll read chp 2 on depression and chp 7 on social anxiety. My mind is open to all opinions and viewpoints, and all options considered. Thanks for pointing out this book for me, I'll let you know how it goes.

  • A kind word turns away wrath. I had suspected you were investigating Christianity again based on some comments you've left for me lately. I was a Big Sister for 4 years. Dont ask me about dating because I'm lost too.

  • Ahh, you quoted from one my favorite Bible book, Proverbs. :) Your suspicions are indeed correct VK, I have felt the lord in my heart once again, a small glimmer, but it was enough to ignite the pursuit of his pure joy once again. That's cool about you being a big sister, how'd you like it? Apparently there is a shortage of men who to be big brothers, and I think it would be good for both the child and me :)
