The stories are supposed to be about the Kids, Lewis said so himslef. Heck he even based the kidfs of ones staying at his house. Aslan is in the books but they aren't about him, they are about Aslan and the Kids and the Journeys the kids go through for Aslan.
Again C.S Lewis said that the books were about the Kids, he only connected Aslan to Jesus(at first anyway) as a way to save Edmund.
All I know is that I got goosebumps watching the trailer to '...the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe' and I am having the same response here! I can't wait to see 'Prince Caspian' come out!
i think all the narnia books r equally interesting. disney probably thinks so 2. maybe they didn't do the Magician's Nephew first, because people who haven't read the read the book wouldn't know wat the wardrobe was or who the Professor was, etc, etc.
they're doing the ones with the pevensy children in (if that's how you spell it) so they don't grow up too fast, the order that they were written, not chronologically, if i'm not mistaken.
thats not true. the order you see now is put in how some man put it in following the timeline of narnia. They are doing it in the orignal way no c.s. lewises way. which i respect, so u are wrong, BYE!!!
Its not the fact that his stories are about religion...in those days people just had more to do with religion and so he wrote about life and societies as he knew them - involved with religion
Actually, though originally an aethist in college, C.S. Lewis converted to Chrisitanity and went on to write not only the Chronicles of Narnia but also Mere Chrisitanity, The Great Divorce and the Space Trilogy, as well as other works, all either involving Christian themes or commentary on Christianity itself.
uh the stories were only supposed to have undertones of god / spirituality. they were allegories. jesus wasn't the point of the story. the point of the story was the children. he is doing quite an amazing job with the movies actually so i think you need to go back and reread all the stories to realize that they are undercurrents of religion because that's what they were meant to be. undercurrents.
I couldn't disagree with you more. Aslan is only part of the story, just like the kids. I think if you were to take a step back and see Lewis' books through fresh eyes, rather than religious eyes, you will see that his books are about life, and all those who play a role in it.
that is untrue. CS Lewis meant for them to be children stories first, with an underlying message about God and faith. When I first read the books as a child, the Christian allegory was never apparent.
So in fact, if the movies blatantly touted a religious message, CS Lewis would be disappointed. I think they are doing a good job with the films.
It gave me the chills too! When it came on during the Superbowl I made everyone be quiet so I could see/hear it...and it was totally worth it. It looks SO good.
they'r not making the movies in chronological order. theyr'e making them in the order that c.s. lewis wrote them. meaning the magicians nephew will be 6th
The Magicians Nephew was written later as a prequel type thing. He wrote Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe first, and then went on to explain on Narnia was created and all that in The Magicians Nephew.
There IS a GOOD reason who they're making the movie's of book 2, then 4, then 5 (To be released May 7, 2010), then 6 (planned, but the screenplay hasn't been written).
The first could have been the first movie I guess, but there's a good reason to skip the third. "The Horse & His Boy" is an in-betweenquel, taking place while Peter was high king in Narnia. It involves unrelated characters.
If they had made the movie of the third book (third in the case of when it took place, NOT when it was published), then they actors from the movie of the Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe would be too old to play themselves a year later for the fourth. Unless the movies for the third and fourth books were made at the same time. Yah right!

if you want to know the plot, read the book idiot! the whole point of a trailer is to get you interested in seeing it, now delve into the intricacies of the plot!
They're not making them out of order. They're making them in the order he wrote them. He wrote the second one in the series first. And Prince Caspian is actually the 4th in the series not the 6th, but he wrote it second. :)
LLW actually was printed first. Then came Prince Caspian and then the Dawn Trader. The Silver Chair was the 4th book to come out, and after that was The Horse and His Boy. So, then the Magician's Nephew was the 6th book to come out before the last book, The Last Battle, came out.
THEY'RE MAKING A SECOND ONE! YES! I'd heard rumors, but I'd never know for sure! Prince Caspian looks cool! But, one question, did I see the White Witch in one of the shots?????
who the heck is mike gravel???? i thought the only democrats running were hilary and pbama. he can't be that great if nobody knows about him. and ah, don't post political comments on random videos like this. k? nobody likes it when people do that.
listen, aren't u supposed 2 leave a comment bout' da video? if no i could say that on fab. the 8th i am going 2 see tokio hotel at music plus interview and da next day see them in concert at montreal!!!! ha ha :P!!!
Mike Gravel is actually a really great candidate, and nobody knows about him because he's not dirty stinking rich, not because he's not great. He ended the active draft himself with a 6-month one-man filibuster and read the pentagon papers into the public record, effectively ending the Vietnam war. It's a shame nobody knows about him.
is he still running though? because seriously, i mean no disrespect, but i thought that it was narrowed down to obama, clinton and edwards. then edwars dropped out leaving just obama and clinton.
haha...after having watched the older movies, Prince Caspian is funny. The old prince caspian was a young british boy with short curly red hair, and this one is a tall, older Spaniard with long black hair. what a contrasst! haha.
"I am Pricne Caspian." That line with that guy always cracks me up.
No, he's a teenager in the book. They do reference his childhood, though, and perhaps that's what you're remembering. :)
I'm just disappointed that they didn't have more "new" scenes in this trailer as opposed to the last trailer. I can't wait for the movie and I would have liked to have seen some more glimpses of what's to come.
*sigh* this movie is going to be just like the last one, rushed, boring, and done by disney.... I like disney movies don't get me wrong, but if you're going to make movies about stories of WAR you can't make them PG it really just doesn't mix. Now I'm not talking blood, guts, gore and the like but if you watch LotR and then watch Narnia, it's really just disapointing.
i liked the first one.. I've never read the books, but hey its with the same people. Of course what else would they be doing that would make them as much money as Narnia.

If they made Magician's Nephew first, it might've been a flop. More people have heard of LWW so they were more likely to go and see it :)

LLW actually was printed first. Then came Prince Caspian and then the Dawn Trader. The Silver Chair was the 4th book to come out, and after that was The Horse and His Boy. So, then the Magician's Nephew was the 6th book to come out before the last book, The Last Battle, came out.

He's still running. He's very tenacious.

haha...after having watched the older movies, Prince Caspian is funny.
