lovely story. sooo glad sunny can play and learn from his buddy. my little rescue loves me, but does not get along w/most people and most other dogs.

Bless you for taking Sunny in.  It makes me angry that rescue organizations were taken in by Ednah. Anyway, I love seeing Sunny playing in the river with her friend! A question: are/were you ever worried that she will run away from you being off leash?

Before Sunny was off leash there were a couple of times when he got loose, once out of the house and out of a friend's fenced yard. He stayed close and didn't seem to want to take off. The first time I let him off leash in the woods I held my breath, he ran and then came racing back to me. However he did not have a solid recall for over a year, so while he wouldn't run away, he couldn't come to me either, still too scary. Targeting games helped. I don't ever worry about him running away. :-)

Beautiful beautiful beautiful. I have several EDNAH survivors as well. I am moved to tears that Sunny has a life that every dog deserves now.

A rescuer reminded me that we learn the most from our most challenging dogs. So I guess I have Sunny to thank for my continuing education in dog training. Thanks for your kind thoughts. dj
