  • doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out the simple mechanics of a bar lock inside of a toolbox so unbunch ur panties, clock in, stop playing on youtube on your iphone and go to work

  • Chances of someone using an 8ft length of 3/16in steel plate to break into your toolbox is pretty slim.

  • was this video meant to be education in case you forgot your key or to teach young theives how to steal tools? what is next how to pawn or sell stolen snap on tools? A theif is the lowes kind of scum there is, no empathy from me when they get the living shit kicked right out of them or shot while breaking into someones garage.

  • haha funny. So many times i forgot my key and could have done that.

  • yeah thanks fuckers i have over 30 k in snapon, starrett, and fluke tools you bastards! however at my old shop some dumbass forgot his snapon key and took a 4" holesaw to the top of it.... complete fucking idiot.

  • Thanks loss my key

  • ya....try it

  • thanks LOADS ASSHOLE!. Just what every THIEF needs to know how to STEAL someones tools you fat Bastard!. Some Asshole breaks into my box they will get to meet my Mossberg with 00 Buck in it!. ALWAYS some DICKHEAD like you around wanting something for NOTHING!, Someone needs to put a Snap on Pry bar along side of your head!

  • when i was15 and working at a body shop this fat basterd who taught me everything i know always told me you keep your tools organized and clean. its notalways the toolbox that matters but its like an investment and the day you have to worry about a co worker taking your tools or snooping around is the day you pack up your shit and leave. to this day i have never locked my matco box and no one does in this shop, we respect...the day i catch one i will tip their box over and leave lol..fuck wit me

  • i hope somebody uses this on your box and steals all ur shit

  • Useful! I actually recently bought a store-model tool chest but they lost the key. So this would be useful for that! (It turned out, my chest was even crappier and all I needed to do was pry the lid portion off with a knife)

  • You gents talk to your Snappy rep. this little stunt can easily be remedied by welding on an extension to the rear rail and securing it through the bottom with a padlock. there used to be a kit for the rail for the older style roll aways that bolted on and all you had to do was cut a small slot in the bottom. I dont know if Snappy still sells it ? I made my own extension for my KRL and bolted a small plate on the bottom to hide the lock underneath. works like a charm. no room for boltcutters.

  • you guys are fuc*ed up. 1st for thinking about stealing tools, then for scheming to find a way, and last for filming it showing other thieves your idea.. too bad you dickheads didnt think about this 15 years ago before I modified my KRL. better bring a torch or a grinder assholes but first you gotta get past my neighbors, the fence, the dogs and then me & my Mauser 98.

u dickwads are a day late and a dollar short. this is an OLD trick smart guys already thwart with an extra $5 padlock numbnuts

  • some of the guys on here seem to have some serious anger issues

  • @mycrimsonregrets thats because were mechanics who have invested $30K in tools that took 25 years to accumulate and pay for. and watching Opie here and his buttcrack friends show every other crackhead how to pick on someone who doesnt know how to prevent this on their box yet, Grrrrrr.....makes my agent orange act up and I get the urge to kill !

  • @1MtnBoy i see it this way, there are plenty of people who know how to do this even before these guys made this video. most of the people who don't know how to break into a tool box, don't know because they aren't trying to. as a weekend mechanic myself, i am now trying to think of ways fix the shortcomings of a tool box instead of getting riled up over it. remember, there is a way to break into your tool box/ car/ house if the person wants it bad enough.

  • @mycrimsonregrets every roll away has a weak spot to exploit. actually all anyone needs is a center punch and a coat hanger to defeat most rail type lock(s). but we dont need to advertise it !! thats too tempting for some of low character, Us responsible adults would never think of it, even though we could do it. I worked with a lot of guys that borrowed and did not return tools but I never thought of breaking into their boxs, I waited and asked and then didnt lend to them anymore.

  • @mycrimsonregrets Snappy & Matco used to sell a kit that extended the rail, you cut a slot in the bottom of the box and then bolt a small plate under the slot to hold a padlock. then the rail cannot be lifted up. period. with my KRL, you cant get to the lock with bolt cutters without lifting the box. or bring a grinder. by then my neighbors would be all over you. You'd have already given my pooch's a Chop to keep them busy or you never got in the yard at all. even if were away? neighbors & dogs.

  • @mycrimsonregrets You can get some 3-4" wide stainless sheet and make a band that goes around the outside of smaller boxs, this protects the lock and the lid. bolt a padlock and anchor on the ends. then opie better have a grinder, lol. with roll aways & top box's you can add onto the drawer rail(s) and find some way to either bring it out under the bottom or through the back and weld on a tab for a padlock. if the rail is held down tightly, theyll never get the drawers open even if they bend em.

  • @1MtnBoy excellent!! thats the type of thinking i was talking about. i have heard a beefier spring helps or possibly putting something to protect the locking mechanism from this method of tripping the latch.

  • @mycrimsonregrets yeah, any box with a "rail" on the rear needs to have a 2nd line of defense. I worked around some questionable characters at times and at one dealership the tool room was broken into, twice. nobody was ever able to get my roll away open, although it did get scratched up pretty good from them trying. one Matco box I helped a co-worker modify we just drilled 2 holes in the back and slipped a padlock into a hole in the bottom of the rail. my Snappy KRL was easier from the bottom.

  • @1MtnBoy it's good to hear that your box was secure, crime is sure becoming a problem in general these days. good luck to you.

  • Cool clip, Snap-On needs to see your footage and fix that easy open problem.

  • you should be drinkin a Budweiser while doin this...lol

  • First I would review the camera footage of my box then you would be on the side of a milk carton... Seriously !!!!

  • The Snap On video of their tool boxes specifically states that the use a reliable source to lock the drawers. It is called GRAVITY! I am serious. Search for Snap On's video of their KRL series boxes and you will see for yourselves. Now what you could do is add a heavy duty spring to the lock bar somehow and this may help.

  • shop i work in has been broken into more than once, and now there is that many more fuckin pill heads out learning how to vandalize shit. it's assholes like you that make this world shit, congrats!

  • lol Id love to catch one of you shmucks breakin into my box. majority of us that have tools in our boxes have some serious weapons. ud be doing us a favor opening it up to finally get to use them :)

  • great so all the tweakers can open the treasure chest

  • Are my tools safer in a Mac box?

  • All of these people complaining need to shut up, these guys are probably doing you a favor by showing you how insecure your box really is. There not trying to promote vandalism or theft. If someone really wan'ts to steal your tools there going to get into the box one way or another, locks just keep honest people out. Get over yourselves this toolbox "hack" is common knowledge anyway. It's your responsibility to protect your investment not the kids in the video.

  • hahahhaha the losers in here ,,, dont give urselff heart attacks eh ,,, 2 funny

  • Its because of fucking wankers like you showing even bigger cunts(like you) how to do this that i had £20000.00 worth of tools robbed, you stupid fucking TWATS, Im with BroGuyDude, love to meet you, you prick

  • @wildpratt why give shit to some one there showing you how shit the locks were on your box

  • @benlovesdannii Because its teaching other people how to do it. TIT

  • i see we have a bunch of internet egos goin on. obviously no one can appriciate a good video. fuckin haters.

  • you want my computer, fine steal that, you want my pos tv and dvd player, fine steal that, you want my gf, ill pay you to steal that, you steal a single tool from me its on.

  • o man that's bad, stealing what doesn't belong to you just remember something, my toolbox is no worth your life!!!!!

  • I liked the bit where he hacked into the snap on tool box.

  • wow so all i have to do is be on the lookout for a guy carrying around a 40 lb 2ft wide piece of sheet steel.

  • Oh cool, thanks for sharing how to steal peoples shit. Too bad it comes back to those who do, often horrifically.

  • dude just get the closest torch and be done with it?!!!

  • havnt seen a lock like that on a snap on before usually key isnt it

  • thats 5000 $ my ass thats shep lock snap on can do that hi performance

  • wow... just use a torch... problem solved.

  • Hey, try to break into my tool box and you will get a 12 inch hunting blade slid into your fucking chest.

  • @BroGuyDude internet tough guy

  • @BroGuyDude hahahahahah

  • @BroGuyDude right.....and after that 12 inch blade is done ...he'll end up in the bottom drawer.

  • @BroGuyDude The E peen is strong with this one...

  • @BroGuyDude Why a cleaver? Isn't it just easier to shoot the bastard? WITH A 45 MAGNUM?

  • Good job. The scary thing is you can't tell its been broken into.

  • if i want to steal that pry bar is maybe hammer more than enough..less than 30 sec

  • really? there arent any tools in the box???? damn...

  • My wifes patient, a mechanic by trade, is a third generation mechanic. His monster tool box, his dads tool box, and his sons tool box were broken into. Total value over 200 grand of tools taken. The thieves did not take the tool boxes, but used simple drill bit to drill out the locks, pull the drawers, then put the drawers into the back of a truck or van and drove off.

What did the owner do wrong in this case? He had a ordinary door that was easily broken into with ordinary thieves tools.

  • hahaha

ur clearly the dumb one, ur tools are already out of the box......

oh and try using the key

  • whoever uploaded this video is dumber than a sack of oats

  • I am pretty sure that anyone looking into doing this is NOT worried about scratching the box.

  • then scratch it to hell while your at it
