Im not a fan of lebron but i will say that for people to hate him because he was a free agent is incredibly dumb if thts the case then we would hate some of the greatest players in basketball history. If clevland wanted him to stay they would have realized his talent and potential from the end of his second year and surrounded him with an ACTUAL team instead of making him do it all by himself and then crying when he leaves...he endured 7 years in clevland and trust me it was def 4 years too long
You're just a butthurt Cleveland fan, pretty much it. LeBron made the right decision for his career. It doesn't matter what team he went with, he just needed to get off Cleveland. Re-signing would've been the STUPIDEST thing he could've done. It's his career, just because you are a fan doesnt mean he should waste his career in a fucking shithole of a team. They refused to build a stronger team around him, they had many opportunities to do so and just continued to make him play 1 man bball.
Inorder for a team to win in the NBA, the team must be stacked with talent, otherwise you will lose in the playoffs--eventually. I watch sports for entertainment and competition, it's not fun seeing one team thats loaded with talent win every year. The Mavericks beat the Heat in the Finals because they were the better team, but people don't want to believe that. The Heat had no half court offense and non dependable shooters, with a not so great coach. At the end of the day--its business!
Based on public reaction, they despise players making their own decisions. LeBron, prior to his decision had to sign a max deal (5 TO 6 YEARS) for his third NBA contract, based on which team he was going to decide to play for. If he would have stayed in Cleveland LeBron would have been traded for value, prior to his contract ending. Fans want players to be loyal, but fans are not loyal to players. Sports are entertainment. Soon a player has a bad game or series, fans turn on their favorite star
Dan Gilbert only cared about the money he was making off of Lebron--thats it. I thought Lebron was going to decide to play with Chicago before he made his decision. However, joining the Miami Heat wasn't a bad move on Lebrons part. It didn't matter what Lebron decided to do with the next 5, years of his career, people was going to be upset regardless of any decision Lebron would have made. Oscar Robertson sued the NBA so players could have a right to declare free agency.
Everything you're saying will be fine and dandy, if basketball wasn't a business. Lebrons selfish decision towards his career, displayed Lebrons critics selfishness towards what they wanted Lebron to do with his career. I love the fact Lebron left Cleveland because he wasn't going to win there, and the owner showed he had problems running his team. Dan Gilbert was reluctant to trade J.J. Hickson for Amare Stoudemire During Lebrons last year in Cleveland, Which showed he didn't really want to win
@Lift1One haha well i dont know lebron. but that summer when he left cleveland for miami, it just really showed everyone what kind of person lebron really is...and between all the ego talk, post/pre game insults, and everything, its pretty apparent that lebron is only loyal to himself. he only cares about himself. he wants to win for him. when drew brees won the super bowl he brought the win TO new orleans. Michael jordan brought championships TO Chicago, thats the idea...he has no affiliations
@ZangrilloJordan Honestly put yourself in his shoes when he had to decide over the summer. Do you keep playing for a team that hasnt done anything for you for the past 7..i repeat 7 years and never won anything...wouldnt you want to go to another team to win? He just wants that satisfaction in the back of his head that he has a ring
@Lift1One also...consider Dan Marino. he never won a super bowl but there will always be a statue of him infront of the mia dolphins arena. thats what its all about. becuase even though he didnt win, he fought for his team. and thats what a "hero" is. i am from FL. so i know how lame the miami heat fans are (most of them anyway). lebron will never have a statue becuz hes nobody's hero. he should have stayed in Cleveland in my opinion
Lebron still never said anything like, I promise where going to win multiple championships. Lebron's not,1, not 2 and ect, just implies Miami's big three joined forces because they think that they could win multiple championships. Rather they do it or not is another conversation. That piece of video clip wouldn't hold up in court because it is inconclusive.
@Lift1One i mean, no where on this page do i say lebron said anything. im just comparing clips of an egotistical lebron to a more humble one. lebron cant keep promises
Theres one big problem with your video--LeBron never said their going to win multiple championships, you idiot. The mis-education of America continues.
Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five.... wait! He forgot the number that comes before one. mmmmmmmm could that be ZERO? yeap! that's right it was ZERO!
@zmeicorp Just wait for it
