Screw Kodak printers. The cartidge is cheaper but if you refill your own cartridges like I do, Kodak is a ripoff because you can't refill/reuse their cartridges. You have been warned.

I have this printer and it is going in a dumpster this weekend, it is quite possibly the worst piece of crap I have ever owned. Last cartridge only lasted 6 pages, Ink is not cheap when you are constantly replacing cartridges. Support is only out of India and hard to understand, they read from a screen so don't waste your time. Kodak was a great company once, now they produce garbage.

I have 40 years experience as a pro printer and I wouldn't take another EK printer free.JUNK!

bought a 5500 and been having trouble with it ever since. went through two print heads.

ink doesn't keep in the unit it dries up very fast - constantly need to buy ink cartridges. The unit will not do anything when the ink is dry - no faxing, no scanning, no copying.........nothing

total crap unit - strongly feeling screwed !!!!!

Could you be more specific what exactly is lab quality ? Sounds like some kind of ad agency buzz word . I got a ESP3 and the only lab I could compare this to is in Mexico I saw a guy with 2 buckets dipping the photo paper in . I must say that Kodak has tried very hard to get my printer working , I just sent back the 2nd replacement and I am waiting for them to send a power supply . Wish me luck as I would like to see this printer work #3366359 / I have been escalated" I get 2 talk 2 a real tech.

Just bought two of the 5500s excellent units

Use the edit software on your comput, as the stuff on the machine is basic,but, it gets the job done
