  • april 1987 mein ashok kumar ji ki wife ki death ho gayi, jab sabhi log unke antim sanskaar ke baad ghar aaye to ashok ji ne kishore da se kaha( it was ashok ji favorite song) ki kishore yeh' jeevan hai' gaao, kishore da ne yeh gaana gaaya. iske 6 mahine baad hi( 13 october, 1987) kishore da is duniya se chale gaye, lekin jis tarah har dil mein bhagwaan basta hai, waise hi har dil mein kishore da aaj bhi zinda hain. miss you so much.

  • Im a sri lankan i like this son much. can anybody translate this to English Please?

  • lyrics anand bakshi

  • YE NA SOCHO IS MAIN APNI HAAR HAI K JEET HAI

    HAR PAL IK DARPAN HAI

    HEART WRENCHING LYRICS !!!

  • @RizwanPaks thank you. rakesh anand bakshi.

  • 9999999502 rafi ke gane jyadatar boring hai

  • This song absorbs all my pain and soothes my soul...no need to go to any temple ...just listen to kishoreda's heavenly voice...utter bliss!

  • Life's story narrated in lyrics, in 3 mins 36 seconds. That's it !!

    Bharat Bhandare

  • @gharya54 thank you. rakesh anand bakshi.

  • beautiful ,sad, true and of course the love that makes our heart flutter

  • Both Rafi and Kishore have sung great songs. So have Mukesh, Mahendra Kapoor and others.

You can't pick who is better between Kishore & Rafi.

Same applies to Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle.

Shankar Jaikishan, Laxmikant Pyarelal,Kalyanji Anandji, RD Burman, Madan Mohan, Ravi among music directors.

Shailendra, Anand Bakshi,Shaheer Ludyanvi, Majrooh Sultanpuri, Indivar...

    ...and many others among lyricists.

Everyone contributed and they were all very good.

  • Life is a floor embedded with thorn, and one has to walk barefooted. At time, it will hurt but at times he realize what he will gain, so his efforts will never go in vain. In a nutshell life is a mixer of good and bad phase but the triumph must continue. Kishore you were different as the emotions reflects in your voice.

    Prady " De Constrictor ".

  • Hey Re

Hows you yaar LONG TIME YA

my humble submission and gratitude for the two gr8 ever super stars of Bollywood Shammiji and Shashiji for their quick recovery.

    HARE KRSNA

  • Meaningful super song by Kishoreda!

  • These are the morel values on which a society is alive and shining in the world which is full of light. Love, responsibility, dedication and affection along with the respect and culture. The life which may not give physical pleasure but a spiritual sanctification which can not be bought at any cost by any person. I love this song

  • Kishore Kumar is always no 1 and nobody will come even close.

rafi's voice is "Sexiest male voice ever". Well, probably he does not know the definition sexy. Rafi's voice is not manly at all.

  • @avi10samanta

you seriously need to hear Rafi's songs. His voice changed quite a bit from late 40s to 70s due to the change in music. In my opinion the music got crappier after mid 70s. Rafi is a lot more versatile than Kishore Kumar. Listen up next time.

  • nice lyrics, immortal voice!!

  • my mom likes this song !!!!

  • good song

  • There are some parts in this song where Anil Dhawan looks a lot like Farhan Akhtar.

  • @karkariafarhad

By jove you are right, he does look like FA sometimes. :)

  • Mind blowing songs great Kishore Da great voice

  • Very peaceful song

  • Ye jeevan hai it's true life is like that we should always be happy

  • @tomyunggung WHAT KIND OF A LOWLIFE ARE U WHAT HAS MUSIC GOT TO DO WITH RELIGION .PAKIS ARE MAD .

  • @prettypinky100 Some people in the times we live in, need to know for instance, that there are more Indians who can relate to "Culture", "Tehzeeb", "Sanksar" pretty much with equal elan...than there are in the world who's forefathers were stalwarts of "tameez & tehzeeb"....people who quarrel about music and/or religion are at best some concocted generation...it doesn't matter which part of the world they live :)

  • @roganjosh2008 sab indian clipe pakis ra eshe dharma ba desh niye amader apa man kare .ora oyi bhabe manush hoyechhe .asha kori sat budhir jeet habe .

  • oh wow...she was so pretty......today some losers call her 'ugly'.....what age can do to people eh....but amitabh was so lucky having her married......

  • @KHOBIII

calling her "ugly"? Who says so...she's glamour personified of the golden years, for God's sake...

  • @tomyunggung , I think it is petty to bring religion into everything. I am a muslim and Kishoreda is my favorite but I believe some of the songs sung by Rafiji were exquisite as were some sung by Mahendra Kapoorji and Mukeshji. Also, can you ever ever ever forget the song from Kabuliwalah sung by Manna de ?? BUT FOR GOD SAKE, TAKE OFF YOUR RELIGIOUS GLASSES WHILE DEBATING ANY ISSUE. It is that kind of petty attitude that is holding India back

  • REAL LIFE OF METRO LIKE MUMBAI

  • my fav song

  • why all this fuss? Just listen to these masters and forget everything else. Hum koi bhi rafi saab, kishoreda, mukeshji, Latadidi ke nakhun ke barabar bhi nahin hai. Listen to them and worship them. Plsssssssss. And in case one is too much into music grammar etc pls listen to Ustad Amir Khan saab, Bade Ghulam Ali khan saab and Bach.

  • u begharats fasadi log shut ur mouths be mature kishore always respects rafi

  • Beautiful Music..Love it! Thank you for the post.

  • very true

  • come on girls, its the season of peace

  • jaya bhadhuri is one of the best actress of indian cinema and amithabh is number one

  • Kishore kumar greatest playback singer, hey morons Mohammed rafi is the greatest singer, understand. then comes yesudas and then only kishorekumar

  • Hey Imbliyandan:

Why in the world do you have to rank these great singers. If I feel that Kishore Kumar has the perfect voice, then that doesn't mean Rafi or Yesudas or Mukesh were bad in any way. It is all personal preference. That is why god created Chocolate and Vanilla ice creams. You can enjoy the falvor that appeals to you. Have fun, and stop calling people morons. Enjoy this song.

  • Hey ssfaps,

Its not a question of ranking. Only a person who has knowledge of music can rank, . And it is 100% true that rafi is the best. I am not saying that kishore kumar is not great. He is. And i also enjoy his songs a lot. But he is below rafi.

And its a fact..Ask some knowledgebale fellows.

  • Imbliyandan:

Since you told me to check, I did ask some "knowledgeable" people and here are the official results. Those born before 1963 rank Rafi higher that KK and the ones born after 1963 rank KK higher than Rafi. Lets call it a draw and enjoy both.

  • SSaps,

seems u have not asked knowledgable people. Its not a question of born before and born after. Rafi is the greatest and it is the fact. theres no doubt about it. Si its not a draw or something like u called it. Seems u dont know much about music

  • Tell me which musicians have you talked with who had said Rafi is the best hands down.. Have u ever seen the breath control, voice resonance, purity, pure chest voice which are quintessential for classical music? Have they talked on these points vis a vis rafi and kishore? have they talked on range? How rafi was weak in the lowest octave? Have they talked how rafi used to customize the ghazals from being a traditional low to medium octave singing by singing them at high pitch at his convenience

  • Now coming to classical music(which of course you would talk) have you ever taken classical lessons from any guru?Ask Pandit Bhimsen Joshi sahab what he found in the voice of Kishore Kumar. Hear it from the best. Classical music is first nurturing a voice, a good chest voice(and not voices which comes from upper layer), a voice with pure "dhwani" or resonance.. And in ornamentation, ie, alaap, taan, sargam- ask them what is the competence of each and every singer.

  • Hehehe.. slang and abuses.. thatz what u all are best at.. whenever technicalities are raised you start gabbling around.. before doing ratings of great singers, learn some music first..:).. By the way, I am still waiting for the day when I can see Rafi fans discussing music with genuine facts and technicalities.. Chill out.. Bye!

  • ha ha ha. From the beginning i knew u were really like the frog in the well. Thinking that his own little knowledge is the real truth. Since u are a born idiot , u stop gabbling about technicalities, understand. And dont try to learn music , you fool.

  • Yes, I am a frong in the well, Jahan panah! And next time you reply to me, mahagyani religious , you are gonna show me:

    1. Rafi hitting and sustaining a low note as low as "ma" any time(yes, any time in his career)

    2. At least a "pa" on the udara without a voice texture change.

    3. A song where he sings three different voices at a time.

    4. A song where he covers three full octaves.5. Any song which he sings purely from his chest voice.6. A genre where he can take three different falsettos.

  • Ha ha ha there u go again, Idiot, why r u exhibiting your ignorance again and again. You seen to be a real idiot. a born idiot. Learn music from the beginning boy and grow up. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing indeed, What a n idiot u are. ha ha ha

  • In all these interactions, I have got no musical reply to my musical queries. And u also gabble around. And show my one point where I am ignorant. It is you who is ignorant of music and start giving ratings to great singers without knowing abcd of their singing. Only lesson u have taken is "hail rafi and trash others" without reasoning. And if someone disagrees, call him fool, idiot, abuse and use slang against him-thatz all. The whole world is seeing ur posts and enjoying.

  • You are an orangotang.. The oldest ape.. So, u think talking of range, clarity of hitting notes, falsettos, voice resonance, sustainence of notes are "non musical"?.. You are a big time ass, idiot.. Dont dare to rank singers with this half filled knowledge and foul mouthing habit.. This is not that hooligun adda where you can say anything and go.. Super idiot, if you cant reply technically, dont imposter as music knower and fool around people with your stupid ratings..

  • @arghyatext1980, please stop responding to that joker. Can you not tell that (s)he has no knowledge of music from the content of his posting ? He turns abusive and completely evades your points. You should not stoop to his low level by responding to the idiot. - Let barking dogs bark as we all know empty vessels make more noise.

  • @imbliyandan you muslim bastard just shut up.

  • @ssfaps - completely agree with you. How good a song is depends on how it tugs at one's heart strings. Also depends on one's mood at the time one is listening to a particular piece of music.

  • @ssfaps I love this comment of yours...especially in a world where constantly we are upsetting ourselves and others, by comparing - songs, singers, language, food, religion, politics, status...

  • listen this song as more as you can

    10 stars for the song

  • What a soothing voice. I feel so fortunate to have Kishore Kumar's voice present of in my life.

  • So true...do the right thing as your concious or subconcious .......allows you.....No excuse

  • one should take it - this is a fact of life.nothing is 100%, be happy.

  • The movie name does not appear to have been mentioned?. Is it from UPAHAAR ? in which the life of Mumbai - those days called Bombay - is reflected in the one roomed tenements with so many members of a family sharing the accommodation.

  • film name is Piya Ka Ghar (1972)

  • the most touching song of lifee

  • Remarksha..you are all-right !!! hahhaa...

  • The point is that we do not need to bask in reflected glory - What's up with this sillywood, billywood? Why can't we have our own name? I feel sick when an indian actor was referred to as "Indian Hollywood so-and-so", that's second-class mentality. Dev Anand was the Indian Gregory Peck - I say who cares about Gregory Peck? Stop behaving like dogs looking for approval.

  • just appreciate the songs man!!! kishore da is the legend

  • I agree with you. Kishoreda was undoubtedly the greatest play back singer that Indian Cinema has ever produced.

  • Great, homely, enjoyable film this was, by the genius that was Basu Chatterjee -- one of India's greatest & my personal favorite directors ever. There is one advice that the director had intended for the audience to leave home with: that marriage is about compromising, for without it, only selfishness & arrogance will prevail -- that, & the fact that Mumbai houses really ARE expensive (confirmation to what I've been told all this time) ;)

Grade-A upload -- many, many thanks!!

  • Jaya is looking so pretty and innocent in dis song....reminds me of my mom:-) recalled my mom's pics (in her college days)... dey looked so gracious and elegant in saris.

  • Whenever I see actresses like Jaya Bhaduri, to me its a testament to our movie industry rewarding actors rather than pretty faces. Waheeda Rehman, Nargis, Amitach Bachann, Sanjeev Kumar - none of them great lookers but great actors. If you have pretty looks head to Hollywood, but if you have acting chops come to the Filmistan (my name for the Hindi movie Industry - I refuse to use the B word - We are not second-class people)

  • Sean Penn, Al Pacino, Nicholas Cage are not great lookers also, I would say Bollywood panders more to the good looks stars craving of its audience nowadays contrast it to the art films of 30 years ago with Naseerudin, farook shaikh Deepti naval, smita and so on.

  • Second class? With all due respect, this is the first time I've encountered the words "second" & "we" [Indians] in the same sentence. I am not Indian myself (I'm actually Middle-Eastern), but the culture & substance that Indian films -- &, to be frank, India as a whole -- has always provided with the best of the best in life possible, whether it is via education, innovation, culture, values, art, et al. My utmost respect to anyone who is Indian!!! I hold nothing but positivity for "the desh."

  • The ultimate song! simple poetry but very striking! just touch your heart!

  • always been a memorable song till today..been a long while trying to find this one and the movie title, thanks to youtube i can just do that. Soothing and mesmirizing melodies of yesteryears..the music is so beautifully gorgeous!!

Thank you so much for translation. Some how I always knew this song is about live.

  • Finest song sung by Late legend " Kishore Kumar ". God bless him in Heaven. it reminds to spend every moment of life by offering peace and harmony to everyone one is in contact.

  • lyrics meaning- This is life and this is how is life's way a bit of sadness a bit of happiness a bit of shadow a bit of noon don't think if you are losing or winning in life just accept what life offers you leave this stubbornness don't break this moment for every moment is as delicate as a mirror its not with money or luxuries but a lovers each breath is linked with his sweetheart's love
  • got it man u r great but in the end one should admit this is the part of life ups and down

    this is what all about

  • @indiaman1970

  • What a great song with wonderful lyrics. The lyrics are so natural to our lifes. These songs picture the reality of our life unlike the current bollywood movies. These songs are backbone of our culture. Our parents grew up by listening to these songs how fortunate they are..Thank from my heart for posting this song.

  • The first time I heard this song was when my aunt passed away and on the way to her cremation this song was playing, though its been two months the song still brings tears to my eyes.

  • my fav. songs thanks

  • How true, fabulous song, thanks for uploading.

  • The voice of God

  • real melody alongwith fabulous lyrics.....one of the great creations...

  • The message of this song is very simple & clear-

Accept life with open arms, life will kiss you...

  • well said, except for the last part... Accept life with open arms.. and life will kick u!!

  • Great music, nice cast and touches heart since the lyrics are very close to reality.

  • simple song yet beautiful.

  • Such beautiful songs, this movie is beautiful.

Anil Dhawan and Jaya look so good, a typical indian couple. The lack of privacy in a crowded acoomodation was very sensitively dealt with in this movie. Nostalgic

The mexicans can tell similar tales except they are treated like cattle.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

    MISHTI!

  • This is a song from Piya Ka Ghar which can be watched at Rajshridotcom website and searching by title.

  • great song thanks friend

  • nice song... Thanks for posting ..

    which movie is this ?

  • Can someone post the meaning of this song.

  • PART 1:

This is life, this is life

This is the beauty of life

    Few heartaches, few happy moments

This shade and sun is what life is all about

Dont think whether there is anything to win or lose in life. Just accept it as the norm of life

Let go this tantrum, dont break the thread that ties you to life. Every moment in life is a reflection of your emotions

  • Thanks very much

  • PART 2:

Neither money nor material will tie to you the real essence of life. Every breath and its importance is tied to the love of your life

The world may move on but the love of your life will never go away. This is what life is all about.

  • nicely explained :)

  • This movie and this song has portrayed so much reality of life of people who live under such circumstances and in such areas. I have seen this in real life and it is just amazing how close this movie and this song is to that. But I just love it. Songs today cannot be compared to any of the old and gold Bollywood era songs/
