You folks need to understand Master Haliva blends Ninjitsu and Krav Maga.
He is ex -IDF and has much real world experience fighting against the enemies of Israel.
He knows his stuff and tailors his method to what works and what helps his students understand. He throws in real-world what-if scenarios and real world bad guys are often sloppy and uncoordinated. Master Haliva teaches the way one may encounter things going against street thugs and the like.
I am doing an experiment: looking at all videos of alleged "koga-ryu" styles to see if any of them even seem like they might be legit. So far, this "nine cutting hands" group is a big fail. Too flashy, too overcomplicated, and too much that is obviously taken from other styles. Gonna watch some vids of their grandmaster first tho.
I am not going to say anything horrible because I am not like that. I don't think this is Koga ryu ninjutsu though. Koga ryu ninjutsu techniques were only known to Seiko Fujita. And he died January the 4th 1966. Sorry.
And Koga? Koga Ryu gone long ago and shows no trace of this in Ryu, the last to know Koga said he had no students and he did not move the material to anyone, except from a poem written by Koga's nothing left And for sure it does not look as though ryu nine ryus united Takamatsu
why would anyone want to block with there forearms? I would rather move out of the way stupid koga crap just like that fake ass fat bastard sensei titus jansen check out my vids of him and you can comment unlike other vids of his
@MrDontstareitsrude hahaha yeah i seen his vids.i thought it was some kind of amature karate with terrible posture and footwork not ninjutsu. i guess bujinkan is the only true path of the ninja these days.
Taijutsu translates as "Body Technique" and has been a frequently used term for "unarmed combat" instead of "jujutsu" in Japan. Several traditional martial art schools in Japan refeers to their unarmed techniques as taijutsu techniques.
But this isn't the best example of any elements of Budo.
Tokakure Ryu Ninjutsu isn't taught like that.
even Stephen hayes To shin Do - another form of the shadow warrior bares no similarities to this video
or..it has similaritites to some of the very old ninjutsu which in most cases looks like an advanced form of Karate and joint locks from aikijujitsu or jujutsu. All arts are the same is some kind of way. The only thing diff in Ninjutsu is the grappling with the sword (Kenjutsu) and yes i understand kenjutsu is ninja sword fighting but dan levels have grappling. the other being almost nothing but balance taking and last...kuji kiri. I do nothing without studies first!
...Gyokko ryu, and gyokushin ryu. And ALL of these were started by one of the first instructors...Hogenbo tesshin with the art....Ikai. Yes, Koga Ryu wasent on the list was it? but koga ryu was said to have been started by a couple of these roots. Also...use your head for a moment. I have read and studied up on 333 other arts from around the world. i think i'v seen pretty much every type of fighting there is. even if Koga doesnt exist anymore...it either cant be much diff from bujinkan...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....i'm sorry but I'v studied not only Ninjutsu history but the history of Japan its self and there is always claims of different crap and old stories. I have a leiniange document that covers a little over 1000 years of Ninjutsu with all of the Ryu's of Ninjutsu that has ever been known and the instructors names and all of the ryu's break off to join the Bujinkan, from koto ryu, kukishin ryu, shinden fudo ryu, kokishinden ryu, gikon ryu, takagi yoshin ryu, kumogakure ryu...
Sorry and one more thing. There were other Ninja families besides what we know of lol. There were some that had Karate style fighting with...Ninjutsu techs. Last but not least. thanks for your time and training Masaaki Hatsumi. doing a great job with carrying on the Ninjutsu legacy...takamatsu sensie would be proud.
And you know the funny thing...in every art....EVERY art.....you will have this problem or something very similar. If this art is real and a good part of it WAS carried on...kudos, and if it isnt real and someone made this s*** up...shame on you. Either way I liked this art and it helped me in real life situations. Learn all you can and most importantly...STOP DISSING ON OTHER ARTS NO MATTER WHAT THEY WANT TO CALL THEMSELVES!! Just because you dont understand something...doesnt make it false!
And I'm sorry but even a Bujinkan Instructor told me to learn anything you can from any art and throw it into your bag of tricks. I have been very disapointed in alot of bujinkans teachers. They say "We don't need anything else and all other arts arent worth learning"....what kind of s*** is that?! Who is to say it didn't get carried on through someone or did get carried. Benifit from it either way. The teachers warn you when you learn this art.."this isnt the FULL art...just some of it."
well...I have been training in the Bujinkan for a bit now and I do see a few similarities...not many but a few. Yes...the Nunchuks and kali (escrima), were adapted to this form to give it a little bit more flavor lol. It may not be the old traditional form of it but more for modern use. Ever use Kihon Happo in todays society? little bit more difficult but still possible if added a bit modern fighting with it. it may live through a few family or students. Open the mind, use everything you learn!
What... this is supposed to be Ninjutsu? Gotta kidding me right? Go in Noda and teach Hatsumi Sensei your ways then because the Ninjutsu he learned as 34th generation grandmaster, a martial art old of 900 years, is a fake! No, come on, people call Ninjutsu every s*** they see where people are wearing black kimonos this is pathetic...
I feel so sorry for your students thinking they're learning real martial arts. Kali sticks, are you kidding me? They're Filipino! Have you ever told your students that? Almost NOTHING you did was Japanese! The nunchaku are a weapon that was made up by modern day cinema. It's not even a traditional weapon. YOU'RE A FAKE!!!!!!!!
The rondori training is a good way to play with your skill set, but other than that I feel that a lot of the techniques are self gratifying. There are much better Israeli ninjas out there like Moti Nativ.
Koga Ryu Ninjutsu IS FAKE!! THE LAST MASTER OF THIS STYLE BURN HES SCROLLS AND HE PAST AWAY!! THE ONLY ONE LEFT IS IGA CLAN1!! THATS ONLY ONE FROM BUJINKAN
actually. hatsumi claims to have the holy grail of ninjutsu, a direct transmission of the root of koka and iga ryu...
notice i said CLAIMS...
because there is NO ninjutsu in the bujinkan...the last shinobi practitioner was fujita seiko. we know this because everyone after him is only saying that 'ninjutsu is or includes MA/budo/taijutsu'
there is no evidence to support such claims, ninja martial arts started with takamatsu, do your research...
@koganinja777 that is actually a good point. Just because Fujita died without passing on the tradition does not mean there were none of his students and others around. Now if you can't prove a lineage to even one of them then the best you can say is your teaching a freestyle martial art interpretation or just call it your own artform and be done with it.
Seiko Fujita gave inspiration to a lot of nice martial arts styles. If it is correct to use the name KOGA is another disussion. To be open about the selection of name is the minimum.
Thanks for the reply! Yeah, but if you train that way, that training will kick in when somebody is trying to kill you with a stick! If you want real Ninjutsu, watch Master Ali A. Karim, Grandmaster Ronald Duncan, and Dr. Daniel Cardona(aka, the Ninja Doctor)! You might also like Aganzul. Have a great day!
Hey man, have you ever heard about Seiko Fujita? There is nothing like Koga ninjutsu from his death. It's a shame that you relate ninjutsu to this kind of music... and thechniques... shame
in conclusion,... Master Haliva is a well trained, experienced, Knowledgeable, skilled, and a person in high demand.

This video appears to be someone who's skilled in tae kwon do, done a little jututsu and read a book on Ninja Joint locks and take downs.
Nimpo is a deep spiritual martial art, true Nimpo/Taijutsu/ninjutsu whatever you chose to call it looks effortless yet effective.
This was very robotic and poorly represented.
right down to the silly music.
for the sake of your school. delete the video.

is it really 34th generation if most of the names are fictitious?

no, you misunderstand, it isnt 900 years old, not even 90 years old yet... the claims that it is ninjutsu is fake tho.
