I held my cat Sarik in my arms and actually stopped his breathing as a mercy in his last moments...
I had taken him to the vet weeks before and didn't have the money to continue tests past bloodwork and giving him water for dehydration. The only thing I could do was keep feeding and making him drink and hope he got better. It didn't happen.
The poor thing was 1 year old. He was a love bug and even got my older cat to like him (a miracle!) It's been years, but everytime I think about I cry.
My Hamster died in 5 months. I loved him but then 1 day i went on vacation... when i came back the guys who took care of Shadow didn't play with him. He wouldn't stop biting. His bite was the size of a guitar pick. He died after that in a sick way. While he was dying i screamed as hard as i can: MOM GET HIM TO A DOCTOR!!!!!! but then... he died....:'(
My latest cat that died was Ricky. Hard to believe but he died at age 18 or 19. He had a sezure then we thought we had to put him down the next day but instead he died. :( He wasn't eating or drinking, and no movement, but was breathing. ;....(
thx islde749. he came down with something called fip. we found out that r older cat cosmo has been carrying the desiese and passing it on to r other cats. so when r old cat mufasa (he died when i was 1) caught it he gave it 2 cosmo but it didnt infect him. so now instead og getting another cat like we normally do we have to wait till cosmo passes on

my cat is 19 almost 20 but she is my favorite cat she is the same age as i am i grew up with her and moved out so i dont get to see her but miss her my mom says its probaly her last year or so she is the most affectionate cat i know and has always been there when i was sad she would come up and snuggle up and she always followed me i wish animals could live longer :(
My family lost our family cat almost two weeks ago or so, she was almost 19 years old and at the end of her life she was blind, incontinent and could barely move. Somehow she just disappeared, most likely to find somewhere secluded to die peacefully.
She never returned home so it's very likely that she's died now. Still 19 years was a good innings for her.

Cats are ok but i fancied dogs better. We have both in our household. Me and my dog are close. while our cat is a female Dive that thinks she OWNS the house w/ everything in it and she's just allowing us to live in it. It's being the DIVA and the "Entitlement" of our cat that really gets my goat! XD

Skinning them alive, burning them alive..etc. He grew a bit older and moved down south, He was hit by a vehicle so hard, that pieces of his body were splattered all over the place. Just like what he would do to these animals. Don't think for one minute that karma will never hit you. That will be your last mistake.

getting a pet is an amazing part of life as you can share your good times and your bad times with it but when the pet dies its terrible you've spent so much times and feelings with them its like losing a family member , i hope your ok , at least the cats gone to a better place where it isnt suffering <3

In the past, i was one of those guys who could not understand the grief others who would tell me of the loss of their cat. i now fully understand how a cat owner feels at the loss, my cat got missing 4 years ago, i still keep expecting him to walk around the corner and meow at me. to this day i still feel like a piece of me is missing and there's nothing out there that can fill the hole in my heart

My Siamese is 13 y-o as I write this! That's around 67 human years.
I dread the day when he'll have to go for the other world so that's why I maximize the time I spend with him. Adopting him was one of the best moves I've made. Sure he cost me money but what he gives back in terms of friendship is really priceless.

I had a cat with an enlarged heart and by the time we discovered it, the vet said the best we could do is treat him with medication. A few months later he was having trouble breathing at night and the nearest open vet was 20 miles away. He hated vets and hated going in the car so I was afraid that taking him there would make matters worse. But I couldn't leave him in pain. I was racing down the highway to the vet when he passed away. To this day I'm haunted by my decision.

Cats, and all animals alike become very much the part of the family. It is so hard to see them pass. This last april we put our 18yr old german shep/alaskan malamute mix down, she had let us know it was her time. She'd been holding on for so long. Her and my dad were best buds... And he knew she wasnt going without a fight. So he went to her, and sat with her, and asked her What she thought...And she seemed very happy to know that we would always love her even after she passed. I miss her.
My mom passed recently and she was the same way. Shallow breaths, then they slowly became farther & farther apart until she just stopped :(
She was in a nursing home for Alzheimers patients. Outside her room was a giant bird cage and I looked down to see a baby bird that needed help and the mom came to the resuce, then mom passed at that moment.
My cat is now 21 & I love him so much. It's gonna kill me when he goes.

i remember my dog. best thing in the world. he was my best friend, and the only thing i wanted to see after school. but on september 29th, his legs gave in on him, bacause he had heart problems since he was a puppy, he has had other symptomsbefore, but this was the worst of all. his bones became very weak, and so he couldn't stand up on his own. we jumped into the car, and went to the vet, and it was too late. they had to put him down.
i had a stray cat wonder to my house, she had a litter of kittens and disapeared, she finaly came back pregnant again and 3 weeks after her 2nd litter was born she got hit by a car noone reported it. worst day ever. but i luckily got to keep one of the kittens and i kno were all of the first and second litter kittens are, they resemble her in everyway.
My cat also died of a heart attack, at age 18. It was a year ago and recently he's been back in my dreams. The weird thing is, in the dream i know and am aware it's an illusion but it seems real.
today my cat dolly died. I got her when i was 1 and a half year old. We grew up together, we sticked out through thick and thin... but on monday the vet told us she had a heart disease. and today we decided to put her to sleep. it was the most difficult decision i've ever made, but i'm happy that she died in this way and not agonizingly.

I remember recieving the call that my parents were going to put him to sleep so they wanted me to visit him one more time. When I got there he welcomed me like he had been waiting for me. getting a pet is an amazing part of life as you can share your good times and your bad times with it but when the pet dies its terrible you've spent so much times and feelings with them its like losing a family member , i hope your ok , at least the cats gone to a better place where it isnt suffering <3

My grannys cat died of breathing problems last week. At 4am he took his last breaths, curled up to sleep and never woke up. People say it's only an animal, but they don't realise they are not just an animal, but a big part of the family.

He died at home..... in his last moments he stoped breathing for a while , and then he did a quick expiration ..... his beautifull soul just left ! Animals allways give us their very best feelings ! In the past, i was one of those guys who could not understand the grief others who would tell me of the loss of their cat. i now fully understand how a cat owner feels at the loss, my cat got missing 4 years ago, i still keep expecting him to walk around the corner and meow at me. to this day i still feel like a piece of me is missing and there's nothing out there that can fill the hole in my heart

My Siamese is 13 y-o as I write this! That's around 67 human years.
I dread the day when he'll have to go for the other world so that's why I maximize the time I spend with him. Adopting him was one of the best moves I've made. Sure he cost me money but what he gives back in terms of friendship is really priceless.

awwww :( my cat was around 10, my mom put her down just a month ago because she wasnt eating and she was constantly throwing up. I feel so sad that I couldnt have been there to say I loved her so much. I really miss her, alot.

I had a cat with an enlarged heart and by the time we discovered it, the vet said the best we could do is treat him with medication. A few months later he was having trouble breathing at night and the nearest open vet was 20 miles away. He hated vets and hated going in the car so I was afraid that taking him there would make matters worse. But I couldn't leave him in pain. I was racing down the highway to the vet when he passed away. To this day I'm haunted by my decision.

Cats, and all animals alike become very much the part of the family. It is so hard to see them pass. This last april we put our 18yr old german shep/alaskan malamute mix down, she had let us know it was her time. She'd been holding on for so long. Her and my dad were best buds... And he knew she wasnt going without a fight. So he went to her, and sat with her, and asked her What she thought...And she seemed very happy to know that we would always love her even after she passed. I miss her.

My mom passed recently and she was the same way. Shallow breaths, then they slowly became farther & farther apart until she just stopped :(
She was in a nursing home for Alzheimers patients. Outside her room was a giant bird cage and I looked down to see a baby bird that needed help and the mom came to the resuce, then mom passed at that moment.
My cat is now 21 & I love him so much. It's gonna kill me when he goes.

i remember my dog. best thing in the world. he was my best friend, and the only thing i wanted to see after school. but on september 29th, his legs gave in on him, bacause he had heart problems since he was a puppy, he has had other symptomsbefore, but this was the worst of all. his bones became very weak, and so he couldn't stand up on his own. we jumped into the car, and went to the vet, and it was too late. they had to put him down.

i had a stray cat wonder to my house, she had a litter of kittens and disapeared, she finaly came back pregnant again and 3 weeks after her 2nd litter was born she got hit by a car noone reported it. worst day ever. but i luckily got to keep one of the kittens and i kno were all of the first and second litter kittens are, they resemble her in everyway.

today my cat dolly died. I got her when i was 1 and a half year old. We grew up together, we sticked out through thick and thin... but on monday the vet told us she had a heart disease. and today we decided to put her to sleep. it was the most difficult decision i've ever made, but i'm happy that she died in this way and not agonizingly.

I remember recieving the call that my parents were going to put him to sleep so they wanted me to visit him one more time. When I got there he welcomed me like he had been waiting for me. Even though he was suffering. He laid his head in my lap and let me pet him. I can definately relate.
