Thanks for that info and for posting this video. My Mom first starting performing Sister Rosetta's "(I Want A) Tall Skinny Papa" in the 40's while in highschool and I was looking to see if I could find video of it for her. I found the audio easily but seems to be no video of that song. I sent her the link today to hear the song and it made her so happy. She's 83. Thanks again!

Wow, I love it. I have a couple Lucky Milllinder CDs and 5 or 6 Sister Rosetta CDs but I've only heard this song performed by Bill Carlisle. Similarly sublime but quite different.
I wonder if Queen Latifah has been asked to star in the Sister Rosetta Tharpe bio? She already sings so all she needs is to learn some licks on a Gibson SG.
@rrowlands Nah... I think Queen Latifah should play Mahalia Jackson and then Fantasia can play Sis. Come to think of it Fantasia's vocal quality even though more powerful does sound like Sis when she was younger...
Jesus this really swings! As much as I love Lucky Millinder post war jump blues, his swing stuff is sooo much better! Check him out with the Mills Blue Rhythm Band!
Thank God for the Devil's music!

Wonderful song; it seems so fresh. Do you know who speaks at the end (to say "That's all there is; there isn't any more")?

@jhs1848 Yes, I ad this line, spoken by Oliver Hardy, in "Sons Of The Desert", after every film I upload.

She can play a pretty mean guitar also - check out "Up Above My Head". Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top was no doubt inspired.
