This is not rock. This boy has taken the position of the solo violin in this magnificent piece. Anything but rock. This is a classic piece buy a classic performer playing to a classic string orchestra. Absolutely beautiful

This version is cool, but violin is different - have more expression. You should hear these cds you mentioned.

You are absolutely correct. This is a transcription for Guitar and strings. It is like orchestra's playing piano and organ pieces, and organs playing orchestral pieces. This is just another interpretation - and a really good one at that. There are several others not nearly so nicely done or so well interpreted.
