When I bought an NES a couple months ago, this was one of the first games I purchased. With no manual this game is so confusing to a NES noob like myself, I always get lost. Do I go up, do I go down? I'm so glad you're here to give me some insight :)

I remember when I was younger, some friends and I would play this game and the music in some parts would really freak me out! Especially the music playing when you come up to the "power up" statues... it made me think that something scary was about to come to life and kill me haha... ah memories are great. :) Thanks NCS for another great LP!

@rainandmoonlight Depends on your tastes. If you prefer games that aren't that hard, once you get used to them, and Exploring, go with Metroid, and if you prefer Difficulty, Close to no exploring to do, and Semi-straightforward action, go with Megaman.

i got this game 3 days ago on vc finaly beat it not 100% got other m today beat it in one day but they tell you where the items are the only metroid games ive completed 100% are prime 1 and other m super metroid i wwouldnt even imaging 100%ing it but they all great games i love them all to death metroid is bad ass i think ive grown to like it more than zelda since i started playing them about a year ago

Exact words:"Starting September 1st, Amassadors will be able to download 10 NES Virtual Console games at no charge and before they are available to the public."

So, Non-Ambassadors will get them as well, but will have to pay.

Another game, doki doki panic, was taken and the characters were replaced with mario characters. They were two different games and mario bros 3 was way more like the original.

i downloaded metroid on the VC a while back. didnt get real far though. not because the game was overly challenging or too hard to play, but mainly because i just never had any idea where the hell i was or where i was supposed to be going lol. no clear objectives really, kinda tough tell what the map says...im not saying its a bad game, its just a pain to try to navigate. for me at least

Many years ago I played this game and while it was fun, I was reluctant to try Super Metroid (due to being lost on this game). But then when I finally tried it, Super Metroid, it turned out to be one of the most epic games ever! I LP'd Super Metroid back in 2009 with a 100% efficiency run with no exploits.
